After dismissing Flanda and the two prisoners in room six, Aiden moved a chair and sat down across from Veronica, "So, I assume you'll co-operate with me?"
Veronica eyed him oddly, her eyes half suspicious and half wary.
"Why are you looking at me like that, isn't it basic procedure to find out what's going on and then deal with it? You've been a cop yourself, nothing strange about that, right?" Aiden started the questioning himself, "Tell me what happened first, the more detailed the better."
"......" Veronica still stared at him without a word.
After a few seconds of staring at each other, Aiden sighed, "What, you don't want to talk? Isn't there anyone who will work with me today?"
"I, for one, don't like showering with those criminals." Veronica suddenly spoke up.
Aiden froze slightly, then reacted and began to listen to her carefully.
Veronica continued with an expressionless face, "So I deliberately dragged myself in until everyone else had finished, and then I was halfway through the shower when I heard someone talking in the locker room - werewolves have much better hearing than normal people, so I heard them clearly. Those two, they were blackmailing the chimera in the locker room, they demanded that the chimera pay them off or they'd find a way to cripple her."
Aiden nodded softly, the statement still made sense.
The boundaries of the Rose Iron Prison could seal magic, a prisoner like Faye who had nothing but her natural spell casting ability was a weakling with no hands here, and more importantly she was rich, a walking pocket of money in the eyes of old fashioned robbers like Catherine and Anna.
"And then you went over to stop them?" Aiden smiled playfully, "Very righteous."
"I just didn't think they were bothering me." Veronica frowned.
"And then you guys got into a fight? Who started it?" Aiden narrowed his eyes.
Here was the crux of the matter; normally, it was unlikely that a bully like Catherine and Anna would actively provoke Veronica.
Veronica was not only a pureblood werewolf, she was also a death row inmate who was soon to be executed, so it would be easy to kill them with her hands, and there would be no worries about it.
It was for this reason that Flanda would have decided that Veronica had committed the crime in the first place, and honestly Aiden wouldn't have believed Veronica if she had answered that they had started it.
But Veronica shook her head, "When I went to the locker room to warn the girls, they acted like they came down honestly on the surface. But as I went back to the bathroom to get ready to continue washing, I heard them fighting in the locker room. Then I went back to the changing room and saw those two kicking and punching the chimera as hard as they could. I couldn't look at them when I saw how overdone they were ......"
"And struck out?" Aiden revealed a meaningful smile, "Okay, so according to you, Faye was knocked out by the two of them?"
This brawl, judging from the results, Faye's injuries were much heavier than Anna's and Catherine's, and this was something that had to be cleared up if responsibility was to be found.
"......" Veronica was silent for a moment and spoke up to answer, "No, it was the soap."
"What?" Aiden didn't catch that.
"When I made a move to beat up those two, the chimera tried to take advantage of the chaos to escape, but she slipped on the soap I threw on the floor and knocked her head on the cabinet and passed out herself, just an accident."
"Oh? You are very honest in your explanation."
Aiden felt a bit surprised, if that was the case, then the responsibility for Faye's concussion from being hit would have to be attributed to Veronica's fault, and Veronica had simply admitted it.
"I have a clear conscience anyway." Veronica said calmly.
"If that's the case then why didn't you make it clear from the start? You didn't even say a word in your defence when Flender said it about you."
"Would you have believed me if I had said so?" Veronica's expression was wooden.
Aiden thought for a moment, "Whether or not I believe you, everyone will judge for themselves when I'm done asking. But if you don't say anything, no one else will even have a chance to believe you, will they?"
He got up as he finished speaking, waved at the prison doctor, and moved to check on Faye's condition in the inner room.
Just as he placed his hand on the door handle, Veronica's voice came from behind him, "Thanks in advance."
Aiden froze for a moment and turned around a little surprised, "Thank me for what? I just asked you to tell me what happened, that doesn't mean I already believe you."
"Just thanking you for giving me the chance to talk." Veronica said slowly as she sat in her chair with her back to him, "It's not often that someone gives me a chance to talk just because I'm a werewolf."
"Really ......" Aiden couldn't say more, every word of Veronica's statement carried an extraordinary weight that made him think of how to take it for a moment.
He opened the door to his room and saw that Faye was lying on the bed right in the centre.
"How long before she wakes up, probably?" He asked the prison doctor beside him as he made his way to the bed.
"I don't know, but if the warden wants her to wake up right away, there are ways to do it." The prison doctor said handing up a silver needle that was used to stitch up the wound.
"Stick her with this?" Aiden couldn't help but frown, "A bit inhumane, isn't it."
"No, I mean warden you just puncture your finger with this and feed her a few drops of blood." The warden said in a professional tone, "Charms can take magic from a man's bodily fluids and recover from injuries."
Aiden glanced suspiciously at the prison doctor, who nodded assuredly.
He hesitated for a few seconds, but finally chose to pierce his finger with a silver needle, then brought it close to Phil's lips and squeezed a few drops of blood into her mouth.
Fei'er immediately reacted, only to see her move her eyebrows before sticking out her tongue and l*****g the little bit of blood that had stained her lips.
In the next second, she jerked up and took a bite of Aiden's finger, sucking on it vigorously.
Aiden was startled and subconsciously tried to pull his finger away.
As a result, Faye unrelentingly grabbed his wrist, and shouted in a daze, "Manna! There's the smell of manna here just now!"
Aiden simply pulled out the matching g*n on his waist and pressed it against Fier's head, "There's no manna, but the g*n can fill you up!"
Faye was startled and opened her eyes, meeting Aiden on all fours.
After blinking twice, she suddenly pulled up the corner of her mouth and smiled awkwardly, "Lord Aiden, what is this? Why are you pointing a g*n at me, I'm scared ......"
"You continue to pretend!" Aiden knocked her head with the handle of the g*n.
"Ouch!" Faye aggressively covered the place where she was hit.
"Now that you're awake answer my question! What exactly happened in the locker room?" Aiden didn't bother to talk to her much and opened the door to interrogation.
She cried on the one hand, and on the other hand, the situation to Aiden body pouncing, Aiden face expressionless with a g*n on her head to put down back: "Do not get old, and then stick up believe it or not I will count you assault prison guards directly shoot you!"
"Know, know la ......" Phil skimmed his mouth, this is honest down.
