Offering a Murderous Weapon for the One Who Takes Revenge

1279 Words
Afternoon, prison core infirmary. "Alright, prisoner 3271, you may come in." Hearing the voice from inside the infirmary, the prison guard pushed Silk Rhine, whose hands were shackled, into the infirmary. "Take a seat over here." Inside to receive them was not the doctor on duty in the infirmary, but the Necromancer Asenna who had received a commission from the warden. Silhouette had begun to approach her expiration date, and in the process the resentment in her body had become stronger and more powerful. Aiden has had to take additional sealing measures to suppress the surging magic in her, and he assigns Arsenal to check the seals on Silk Rhine regularly during this last period of her life. Faced with Arsenal, who had been unlocked from certain spellcasting privileges, the wardens who brought Silk Rhine over were still a little wary, after all, the warden was not present. Although everyone knew that the necromancer was one of the model inmates that the warden had personally appointed to assist the wardens, she was still a red alert level inmate. Luckily, the warden immediately saw that Veronica was standing in the infirmary with her hands clasped, monitoring the scene, and immediately felt slightly more at ease. Nowadays, Veronica had already become half of the warden's secretary, and many of the things that Aiden had to do personally in the past, the warden now basically pushed to Veronica to execute on her behalf. Spying on Asenna, who had opened up her temporary spell casting privileges to carry out the task, the other wardens didn't quite dare to do it, but Veronica had the guts to do it--because she was strong enough to do it, and in the previous riot she swept away the entire infirmary's rioters all by herself, and became famous in a single battle. Seemingly noticing the guard's uneasiness, Veronica looked over and said to the guard, "I'll watch here for you, go wait by the door." "Okay." The warder nodded gratefully and retreated to the outside of the infirmary and closed the door. Arsenal took her staff and pointed it at Silk Rein's forehead, softly chanting an incantation, and soon Silk Rein's body, sitting in a chair, twitched, forced to raise her face like a puppet being pulled by invisible strings. Smokey spirits were forcibly ripped from her eyes that flickered with ghostly fire and gathered into a ball at the end of Arsenal's staff. Seconds later Asenna interrupted the spell, and Silhouette fell backwards onto the back of her chair, her arms and legs limp as if she'd expended a great deal of energy - Asenna had cast a soul-twisting spell that bound the dead spirit while she was scrying into her, lest she not co-operate with her work. Arsenal waved her staff to point at the pre-prepared basin of water, and popped the spirit extracted from Silhouette's body into the magic potion used for the testing. In an instant, ink-stained pitch-blackness spread heavily in the colourless testing potion, and soon the entire water basin of colourless liquid turned pitch-black. "In just a few days resentment has risen to this level, your resentment is truly extraordinary." Asenna commented lightly, "One must strengthen the seal with a ritual to do so." "Count on it, I've ...... run out of time." Silhouette whispered a breathless plea, looking at Asenna with eyes full of persistence, "I just want to kill the murderer who killed my son ......" She didn't have knowledge of necromancy, but she could also instinctively feel the change in her power and the premonition that her time limit was coming. By the time Carmilla came out of her confinement, the time left for her to take her revenge would probably only be a few short days. The little power she had before the corpse disappeared was the only thing she had left to kill Carmilla, who was of dragon blood. But with the warden ordering Arsenal to keep blocking her power, she wouldn't even have a chance to grab that one card. "I'm just carrying out the Warden's orders, so please don't give me a hard time." Arsenal simply swept her off her feet and rejected her firmly. "Veronica, can you help lift and move the bed for the unconscious patient over here, this guy is so heavy!" The prison doctor standing in the corner attending to another prisoner waved at Veronica. Veronica took one look at the all but helpless Silk Rhine, convinced that she couldn't do anything small, and responded towards the prison doctor, "Coming!" "That, I'm going to need some help with my side of the ritual to complete it." Arsenal snapped. "I'll go help over there and come back to help you later." Veronica returned briefly. At this time, Meru Kino came out from the inner room and took the initiative to interject, "Why don't I come and help Arsenal with the ceremony, I know black magic and would be more suitable for this." Because of her proficiency in pharmacology, nowadays Merukino would occasionally be thrown into the infirmary to give the prison doctor a hand when she was being guarded. Veronica frowned slightly at her, distrust written all over her face. "Won't be doing a little work lah, I have a life to live." Merukino hurriedly held up her hand in defeat. "It better be." Veronica shot an intimidating glare at Merukino and turned forward to give the prison doctor a hand. "Need me to do something?" Merukino turned to Arsenal. "Just wrap these bandages around her, just the wrists, ankles, and neck, twice around each." Asenna pulled out a section of bandages with incantations written in red potion and briefly instructed, handing Merukino another slip of paper, "Since it's a ritual, the incantations will be rather long, so turn around and after each section I chant, you'll accompany one of the incantations in order by following the incantations on it." "An enhanced style of evocative grammar? Got it." Merukino read the note once and returned it. "You've studied necromancy?" "Have dabbled." Merukino took the bandage, "Is it really okay to use such a crude ritual prop?" "There are no shrouds here that specialise in sealing the dead, so let's keep it simple. The most important thing about the ceremony is the presider, not the props. Alright, let's begin." After Asenna finished speaking, she put her staff up in front of her body and began to concentrate on the preparation for casting the spell. Merukino approached Silk Rein, who had long ago been struck by the soul-wrapping spell, with a bandage in hand and began to wrap it around her. She quietly turned back, glancing at Asenna, who was concentrating on chanting the pre-existing spell, and then in the direction of the corner - Veronica was helping the prison doctor carefully move a prisoner with traumatic injuries, and no one was paying attention to her side of the room for the time being. Taking advantage of this opportunity, she lowered her voice and struck up a conversation with Silk Rhine: "How sad, holding the consciousness of becoming a grudge to take revenge, but being pressed so hard by that warden, you can only die with a grudge. ...... Perhaps, I can help you." Silk Rhine suddenly widened her eyes, and the ghostly light flickering in her eyes lit up. "I have a bit of a problem with that warden, and I want to cause him a slight bit of trouble." Merukino said in a voice like a fly, "If you can move around freely today, come to the reading room in the library and I can give you something that can kill Carmilla."
