I spent the whole ride wondering if Dustin was serious about his threats. Hunter must have sensed my tension, so he grabbed my hand, interlocking our fingers. It did help me to feel better but didn’t stop the flow of thoughts raging through my mind. I’m surprised he still wants to spend the day with me after what happened.
We pulled onto my street and my worry shifted from Dustin, to what my mom was going to say when she meets Hunter. She warned me that the next man I brought home would be going through an interviewing process. Or was it an interrogation? s**t, I don’t remember. I contemplated having him wait inside the car, but that would not only be rude to him, but it would make my mom question things even more. My hands were starting to get sweaty as my heart picked up its pace.
After we pulled into the driveway, Hunter went around to open my door for me. I took a deep breath before getting out. As soon as I stood up, he pulled me into a hug, making my tension and racing thoughts ease up. “Relax, that was only a bump in the road.” He said gently. “You have nothing to worry about, and trust me,” He pulled away and looked deep into my eyes. “I will do whatever it takes to keep you safe. He does not scare me, not even in the slightest. Nothing could ever make me want to give you up.”
I smiled, leaning my head back on his chest. I love the way his body feels wrapped around mine. I took a deep breath once again, louder than I intended, as I wanted to fill my nose with his delicious scent that made my mouth water and my insides quiver with anticipation. He chuckled, so I pulled away embarrassed that he caught me, but he pulled me back in, “I love the way you smell too.” He placed his lips on mine, giving me a sensual kiss.
“Hi mom, I’m home,” I announced, walking into my house. I let go of Hunter's hand, not wanting my mom to see that just yet. I heard Hunter groan as I pulled away.
“Hey baby, how was your night?” my mom asked, walking over to us. “Oh, who is this handsome young man?”
“Uh, this is Hunter,” I said, nervously.
“Hello ma’am, how are you today?” He extended his hand to shake hers, but she ignored it.
“I’m fine,” she said, eyeing him. “How do you know my daughter?”
I rolled my eyes, sighing. “Mom, come on, I’m a grown woman.”
“Yea, a grown woman who makes bad choices with men.” My face heated up and turned scarlet. I was completely embarrassed by what she just said.
“We met through a mutual friend, ma’am,” Hunter quickly replied.
“And who might that friend be?” she asked, raising her eyebrows, and narrowing her gaze.
I sighed, frustrated that she was doing this. “Kaya mom, now stop.”
She pointed her finger at me, “I don’t want you ending up with another psycho like Dustin. You are my daughter and I love you. I don’t care how old you are, I’m never going to stop looking out for you.”
Hunter straightened his posture, his tone and demeanor turned serious. “Ma’am, I assure you, I am nothing like him. I am a business owner, and I was raised to treat women with love and respect. If I did anything else, my mom and dad would both kick my butt, regardless of my age.”
“I like your parents already,” she said, amused.
I left to go shower quickly and put on a fresh pair of clothes. I opted to wear a pair of blue, semi-faded jean shorts and a black tank top with my gym shoes. Spring has already sprung and it’s going to be a nice day outside. So why not get a tan?
I pulled my hair up into a high ponytail and added light makeup. A flashback of last night and earlier this morning popped into my head. I couldn’t help the smile that consumed my face as I reminisced about the way his tongue felt as he licked me inside and out, the way his rough hands moved over my body and his c**k… “Damnit Ari, stop thinking about that.” I chided myself. I took a deep breath trying to calm my body’s inner desires and cool myself down.
When I got back downstairs, they were both laughing. I let out a sigh of relief. I was afraid she was going to interrogate him once I was out of sight. She was showing him some of my baby pictures where I was covered in food and playing in the mud. Great!
“Are you ready to leave?” I asked.
“Yes" he stood up," bye ma’am, it was a pleasure meeting you. We should have a cookout sometime,” he said, as he shook her hand.
“I would love that. By the way, you can call me Anita. You two have fun, and Hunter....come back soon.” She smiled widely and appeared to have enjoyed her time with him. I'm not sure what they talked about while I was getting ready, but whatever it was lightened her defensiveness towards him.
“Okay, bye Anita, have a good day.”
“Bye mom, I love you,” I said as I gave her a hug and kiss.
“I love you too baby girl. Have fun and be safe.” I held Hunter's hand as we walked out of the house, gleaming with happiness that my mom approves of him, and didn't scare him away.
