Chapter 7 Who are You to her?

660 Words
Aryana As we walked out of the hotel, Dustin came charging at us enraged. As soon as I saw him, I stopped, contemplating walking back inside the hotel. But it was too late, he moved too fast. “What the hell are you doing here with him?” He sneered, pointing to Hunter. “Did you f**k him?” Oh, please no, this cannot be happening right now. Not only am I embarrassed that he showed up out of nowhere and is now making a scene, but now I have to explain all of this to Hunter. Before I could say anything, Hunter grabbed me, pulling me behind him, and went into a defensive stance. He looked like he was ready to kill Dustin. “Who the hell are you to her?” Hunter growled, glaring at him. If looks could kill, Dustin would be dead three times over right now. “I’m her boyfriend,” he said, confidently. I stepped out from behind Hunter. “Ex-boyfriend, douchebag!” Rage emanated from me. “How did you find me?” “Don’t worry about that. Now, what are you doing here with him?” His hands balled up into fists, he stood taller as he took a step forward. He looked like he was ready to make a move any second now. I clenched my fists, “First of all, that's none of your business. I dropped your ass 3 months ago. I told you I never wanted to speak to you or see you again. What part of that don’t you understand?” I yelled. I couldn't hold it in anymore. The audacity of this asshole astonishes me. Hunter grabbed my arm, like he was trying to hold me back. Hunter stepped forward. Both of them were just a few feet from each other now, looking like they were squaring off or sizing each other up. “I think you’d better back away, Dustin, and leave her alone, or things are going to get really ugly!” I wonder how they know each other? Dustin’s eyes shifted to mine, “Ari, what did I tell you would happen, if I found you with another man?” He gave me a death glare and sneered. The way he glared at me made me shutter. Fear trickled down my spine. I didn’t get a word in because Hunter (snarled?), then punched him. With a loud crack and blood pouring out confirming he busted his nose. What is with the noises he makes? Growling and snarling? I’ll have to ask him later. “You threaten her again, and a broken nose will be the least of your problems. Now leave, before I really get mad!” At that, Dustin left, giving us the evilest look I’d ever seen in my life. s**t! I turned to face Hunter but couldn't look into his eyes. I feel bad and guilty for having this encounter in front of him. “Sorry about that. I left him because he’s crazy, amongst other things, and he just won’t accept it." He lifted my face, causing me to look into his eyes. “You need to be careful. I know about this guy and he’s nothing but trouble. But don’t worry, I’ll keep you safe. If he gives you any problems, let me know right away and I’ll take care of it. Don’t put yourself in any unnecessary danger or added stress.” “What are you going to do, kill him?” I asked, jokingly. He had a dead serious look in his eyes and firmly said “whatever is necessary to keep you safe.” My eyes widened and my mouth dropped. I mean, I hate him, but I don’t want him dead. After that, we got into his vehicle and headed to my house. The ride was quiet. Both of us were deep in thought. Dustin wouldn’t really hurt anyone because of me, would he?
