As the night grew lighter we all decided to call it quits. I got up from my chair like everything was ok. Asher on the other hand couldn't walk straight to save his life. We all were high but Asher looked like it was his first time.
"Here let me help you" I said taking his arm over my shoulder.
"How do you do this" He asked staring at his feet.
"It was an escape" I said trying lift a dead weight Asher.
Surprisingly he could walk a little. We got inside and made it down the hallway to his room. I gently laid him on the bed and covered him up. I walked out of the room as he started to snore. When I walked into the living room the news was on.
"Today's story is about a family who was found badly injured"
We all watched on the edge of our seats.
"Their teenage daughter recorded what happened secretly"
We all were waiting.
"Leave us alone we don't know who you're talking about"
"They have to be with you"He says smacking her.
We all heard Sirs voice. That family picked up the cat.
"No they're not" a little boys voice said.
My stomach dropped and heart started to ache.
"Leave them alone" A male voice says.
Smack. Crunch. Gurgle. Oh no this is my fault. I felt sick.
"Boss their right the kids aren't here"
"As warning then" I could hear it in his voice" Hold her down"
We all heard his zipper go down.
"No please, please don't do this" A woman's voice sounded panic.
We all heard her screaming for him to stop. The news lady cut the recording after that. We all were shocked. I slumped against the wall. That family paid for my mistake.
"If anyone has any information about who this is they are to call the police in any state. Thank you" The news lady says.
At this point I was sitting on the floor spiralling. I was curled up with my arms over my knees and my head on my arms. What have I done? I felt someone gently touch my shoulder. I looked to see who it was. Sammy was standing there.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean for anyone to get hurt" I chocked out.
"Mare it's Sirs fault not yours" He says sitting down beside me.
"Sammy they got hurt because of us"
"Mare I'll call the cops here"
"Sammy that's a risk"
"Not if it means we're safe" He says hugging me.
"Maybell we need a burner phone" I say nodding at Sammy.
"Yea boss" She says leaving.
We all knew on way to end this or the other option was to take him out a long with Levi's family. Maybell returned with the burner phone and it was already activated.
"Sammy are you sure"
"Yes but I can't make the call here"
"Good boy"
"Where did you want to make it"
"A block or two from his compound" He smirked.
I smiled knowing I did a good job training him.
"Hey boss their trackers are coming back" Libby says.
"Xander, Hallie, Hattie, Maybell take Sammy and make sure you're not seen by Sir"
"The way their moving should be here soon"
"Go now and when the tracker reaches ten minutes away Libby text Maybell to have Sammy call"
"Got it boss" They all said at once.
Everyone leaving started to get ready.
"Coffee so no one sleeps until you all get back"
"Got it boss" They all said again.
I watched this plan of Sammy's play out.
"How far out"
"Just entering the state" Libby says.
"Go now"
They all piled out and I heard the car leave.
"Doll they'll be ok" My mom says putting her hand on my shoulder.
"I hope so" I said grabbing her hand.
"They're going by the playground now" Libby says.
"Text Maybell"
I saw Libby pull out her phone and then put it down.
"Going through the other town with speed" Libby says.
Her phone went off and she smiles.
"What does it say"
"Done"
My heart started to ache. Would this really work? This has to work. The news flashed on the TV.
"We have a drawing of the suspect who put that family I'm the hospital"
Sirs face flashed on the TV. My heart sank she got it down to the scar I left on his face training the one day.
Libby looked down at her phone again.
"Read it"
"They are pulling in now and they can hear sirens"
I sighed in relief.
"Let me know when they have Sir"
Libby typed something out and sat her phone down. She looked at her phone and nodded.
"This just in the cops have picked multiple suspects. We're going live"
We watched as they had all of them in hand cuffs. This was it. Sir was going away.
"Where are they" I said becoming antsy.
The door opened and Sammy came running to me. I picked him up hugging him tightly.
"We did it" He says.
"No you did it" I say kissing his cheek.
I finally put him down smiling.
"Order pizza like a lot of pizza"
"Really" Sammy says.
"Yes here's the card" I said was Sammy was jumping up and down.
He ran outside excitedly. We all could see him ordering food.
"Good thing I have a lot money" I said laughing.
Sammy came back in all smiles.
"Take a guess how much I ordered"
"Um a lot"
Everyone started laughing. Asher was still sleeping. Man he could sleep.
"Was it ok I got wings too"
"Sammy you're spoiled" I said patting his head.
"Only by you" He says gently elbowing my side.
"Oh really now" I say giving him a nuggy.
"Ok ok. But it was a lot of food" He says smirking.
Soon after we all settled down and was watching a movie the door bell rang. Sammy jumped up and ran to the door. I followed behind and two cars with four people each was there.
"Pizza and wings" one guy says.
"Yes that's us" I say.
"Where do you want it all" he asked.
"Sit in the kitchen" I opening the door.
All four kept walking in and out till the last of the boxes were brought in. I finally closed the door.
"What are feeding an army Sammy"
"You all still smell" Sammy says walking over to the food.
"He's right. Let's just eat doll" My mom says.
"Fine" I said walking into the kitchen.
It was like a free for all. We were all grabbing out of boxes. We all were bullshitting when Asher walked into the kitchen yawning.
"Why is there so much food" He asked sitting down.
"I don't know ask Sammy" Maybell says.
"I told him to order food and he ordered" I said laughing nudging his arm.
"You didn't say there was a limit" He nudged me back.
We all were laughing and Asher sat there silently eating. It got the point in the night where some of the food ended up in the living room with us as we were watching another movie after movie. Most of the food ordered was ate throughout the night. We had just enough to put in fridge for tomorrow. At some point people started to fall asleep so I saw that as my que to do the same. Asher followed me back to the room.
"Little bird what happened while I was sleeping" He asked sitting down on the bed.
I was already half asleep.
"Asher a lot let's talk tomorrow I'm tired" I said yawning.
"Ok little bird" He says covering me up and leaving the room.
A loud crash woke me up. I jumped up and ran out of the room. Maybell was throwing things.
