Fallen Vampires

I enter the motel packing up all of our suitcases-

"Desmond stop!" Amalecitae yelled.Her breath heavy,

"I can't I have to find her, she needs me!" I snap. She begins to shake her head,

"More like you need her." I stare at her, she's right. I've become a total f*****g softy since I met Alannah. You grabs my hand-

"You proposed to her, didn't you?" She smiled, reminding me of Alannah.

"Yeah, I beginning too think-"

"Don't finish that sentence young man, I'm her mother." She was right- again. I look back down at the bed, at her leather jacket. I called the ambulance for that woman at the alley way. What are you thinking Alannah, you wouldn't leave me would you? I grab her jacket and grab something from her pocket, her ring. I pull it from the pocket I feel that enraging feeling once again. 

"Can I see that?" I slap the ring into her palm and she walks away with it, almost examining it. 

"Majika, I need your help with something, can you give me a call tomorrow when you've landed. thanks" She hangs up the phone and puts it on the side table.

"Don't touch it until Majika gets here."  She leaves the room, closing the door behind her. I'm going to take a shower, a hot shower. 

All I can think about is how I failed her, how I didn't make her feel like her own person- but I also remember every inch of her. Painting a picture in my mind, every bump, every mole, every tiny freckle, even every hair on her skin. I remember her smile, her gorgeous eyes- human or not. The first time we met- when she ran into me- that's the exact moment I fell in love with her. I remember the electricity she made me feel with every kiss, the way she laughed, even the way she fought and how incredibly sexy she was drinking human blood for the first time. I play with the band on my finger, I had bought myself an exact (manly) pair to her ring- I wanted people to know that I was taken- that we were a couple. As the water hits my shoulder and runs down my back I could see the reflection of my eyes in the tiles lined up against the shower wall. They haven't stopped glowing- this hasn't happened since Jeremy killed my entire family. 

"Alannah," I whisper.

...**...

*Knocking* 

"Desmond! open the door, it's Majika." I had been up all night- vampires don't sleep, not unless you break our necks, or if you do it the right way- knock us out for a few days. I quickly open the door, majika barges in placing down three big bulky cases onto my table. She then drops her cloak onto the bed moving her hair to the side. I raise my eyebrow in confusion,

"C'mon, you must be thirsty." She says, but I laugh.

"Good, i made you laugh- now I know I don't need to be worried." She puts her cloak back on,

"Majika, you can't be wearing that." She looks at me in confusion.

"What do you mean, this is America, it's a free country isn't it?" Of course she read the entire bookshelf at the school of the U.S and took it completely out of context. 

"yes it is. But there aren't any creatures like us here- like you."

"No problem-" I shake my head and smile,

"No Majika you don't understand-" She removes her cloak and shakes it into a brown hoodie, she then changes her appearance to Alannah's. 

"okay, what the hell is this?" I start to feel irritated, that isn't even what Alannah looks like anymore,

"It's the only human form I know." She shrugs. I place my hand over my eyes in frustration when Gabe and Amalecitae barge in. 

"Whoa." They both say looking at me. 

After thirty minutes of trying to calm myself down we start conversing. 

"We have hit a serious road block into our plan- being that Alannah has been taken, we have to be quicker, Jeremy only needs a few more sired vampires to complete his army- and being that he has Alannah that's all he needs left- a few more vampires. Our best bet is to stick to the original plan- but we're going to need a few vampires our selves. There is no way the four of us can kill 6 vampires in eight different locations in one night. Our original plan was going to be two days and hopefully kill Jeremy in one of them- but that won't be the plan now." Amalecitae says. She then opens one of those bulky cases and hands each of us a watch. 

"These watches are going to detect vampires near you within a 10 mile radius-"

"It could take us 8 minutes to run to each corner of the 10 mile radius, why not make it 25 minutes?"

"Because Desmond we don't want to kill these vampires. We want to convert them to our side." Alannah's mom retorts. I put it on my wrist and turn it on, 

"Your watch is going to show two vampires, the ones on our side are blue- you will see 6 blue dots within 10 miles,"

"6?" I say. 

"I have a few friends here, they have a few grudges against Jeremy and want their revenge. If you successfully 'convert' these vampires to join our side, insert this injection into the neck and bring them back to this location." She hands us a card with the address of an old warehouse that was abandon in the 1950's- I know this address because I was the one who ran it dry.  

"and Desmond bring Alannah back. I want you to start here, that's most likely where he's going to hold her." 

...**... 

I look at my watch, the blinking yellow dot shows that there is a vampire close by, I decided to grab some coffee at this coffee shop so I don't look suspicious. The blinking dot get's closer but not close enough to follow yet. I sit down at the table closest to the window, pretending to read the newspaper when the blinking dot- is 11 feet away from me. I look up- a woman, she looks like a pretty normal vampire. She's on the edge though, she keeps looking behind her- that when I notice her bloody hand and the cut healing on the back of her neck. I get up placing the newspaper back on the table. I walk over to her, tightly grabbing her arm and pulling her out of the store. She tries to pull away but is no match to anger. I wrap my arm around her shoulder, avoiding the cops behind us. I turn down the street and into the closest alleyway. 

"What the hell! Let me go!" She squirms. I look up showing her my red glowing eyes, she trembles under my hands,

"Who's blood is on your hand, and why were you cut on the back of your neck? TELL ME!" I yell. 

"It's the womans!" She cried. 

"What woman!" 

"The witch!" I release my grip and she is surprised, looking at me with a merciful look. 

"How do you feel about Jeremy?" 

"He's a f*****g scumbag." The redhead lady snaps and then looks at me terrified. 

"Come with me," 

I take her back to the location that Amalecitae gave me. I open the big bay door revealing other vampires- about 2 others- meaning Gabe and majika already have one up on me. 

"Listen- I have one question for you- do you want revenge?" She nods her head- I have to bring in more vampires before I can ask any of them about Alannah- Alannah was only recently taken and Jeremy wouldn't risk loosing his only way to the blood red moon. I tell her to wait here. I need Alannah but we have to get these guys on our side first. 

It takes all day for the rest of the vampires to show up- we're sending three vampires to each location which means we need 24 fallen vampires. But that doesn't cover nearly 356 other vampires who were mistreated. 

once it reaches sundown we all show up at the barn, majika still taking on Alannah's form which is creeping me the hell out. We open the bay doors- Amalecitae is the leader for this run, she knows her father more than his closest friend. She sets the bulky cases down on the dusty old desks. Her long hair is braided just like Alannah's used to be. 

"Listen everyone- tonight is not the night for revenge against Jeremy. But recruiting all of the people who fell at the same fate as you. They're about to have the humanities ripped from them- just like you did. All to what? Build the strongest army? Kill the human race? Or just for power? But I want you to keep your eye out for someone we have lost to the hands of this monster- her name is Alannah, he might call her Granddaughter or even 'Princess True blood'-" I look at Amalecitae, princess? What does Alannah have to do with royalty? and if so, that's who my family- my father was waiting for, a princess, a heir for me- to marry. I look down at the floor- confusion painted all over my face- a heir that I didn't know existed,. Someone who wasn't even born for another thousand years. I turn around and leave, heading up the stairs to an old bedroom I had set up this morning. I stare at the ring that I was told not to touch, am I really marrying Alannah because of destiny? or because I really love her. She lived here in America, grew up just like a human, developed Matanica blood because of the humans- her blood rewrote itself because her vampire DNA wasn't allowing itself to come to the surface so it was killing off that part of her- why couldn't I put these pieces together last year-

"Because this had to happen first Desmond." Majika has her arms crossed as she is wearing her concerned look. She sits next to me, her head leaning against my shoulder. 

"i could have saved her if only I knew-"

"Could have, should have, would have, all of those things are basically if's Desmond. You can't live on If's and you know that. All Alannah wanted were answers and the only one who knows is Ama." I put my face in my hands, I know she's right but if Alannah is a princess, the princess my father wanted for me, that means I am the prince of my family and that's why I left. I left because I didn't want to marry a princess. 

"Then why was she hiding her questions?" 

"Desmond, it's time- Ama is pairing up people to go with each of us." gabe interrupts. 

We all walk down the stairs; Amalecitae (Ama) is waiting with her foot tapping against the wooden floor. 

"Now- Majika, I want you to stay here in case anything happens you'll be able to use your powers to protect all of us. But Everyone else- there is going to be four groups of 3 and one group of 4. I want two people with Desmond and two people with Gabe, two people with me."

After everything was situated I got the location farthest from here, they know I can run a hell of a lot faster than every one else. Here we go on a mission to recruit his fallen vampires.
