Presley Bridge: A new world

Riana finished with her shift at her aunt's Cafe booming with lots and lots of customers. " come on Rian you can't leave here like this", Aunt Kathy complained. "sorry aunt but I really need to go check out something, it's veryyyy important. love you and good luck taking care of the customers.Bye guys" she kisses aunt Kathy on her cheek and waves the other workers and exits the cafe with a warm smile on her face and walked down the streets filled with busy people moving up and down and different types of shops from clothing lines to restaurants. She has always hoped she'd get to attend Presley Bridge Academy in London as it could help her get into Oxford university easily and fulfill her dreams of pursuing arts. She bumped into someone at the entrance of a tailoring shop and apologized to the person who is a customer from the shop.She went inside the tailoring shop and looked around walking towards the working area, "mom I'm back from aunt's. I can see you've rearranged the place and stock them with new designs. I like that..." She leans on the doorframe to the working area and smiles at her mom "Hey Honey I added your designs too. I really like them and also I've got a job for you to do, I need you to pack these fabrics aside and put this name tag on it so I don't forget the owner of it" Lydia smiles at Riana and continues sewing the dress like a professional. Riana stood there for a while and stared at her mom. She has always thought to herself why her mom could make such beautiful clothes and not join one of the big companies here so she could make more profits and gain more exposure. She started arranging the fabrics just as told and turns to her mom. "Well mom I heard the approval letter to Presley Bridge was in, do you think I can get in tho?...", she puts the name tag on the fabric and takes a seat ahead of her mom's. "Rian you will surely get in trust me. Your grades are excellent and just so you know, you will get whatever you want and where ever you want to be because you are special and deserve everything special even what you dream of..." Lydia pauses the sewing machine and looks at Riana. "actually your dad, went to Presley Bridge...he was also good there, nevermind. This is about you Rian, Are you gonna check it now or what" she changes her sad tone to a cheerful one trying to hide the pain of mentioning her ex-husbands. Riana got the scene and tried to change the topic followed by Shaking her head and said"Nah mum, I will when we get home. Mum...why didn't you want to sign the contract with the clothing line tho. Mum it was a great opportunity for you, the shop and us..." she asks her mom still wondering why she decided not to sign that contract. "come on Rian I already told you I want to grow this business just like how Nana wanted to and that could be done when I don't be in partnership with a company or signs contracts and stuff. Honey let's not talk about this right now okay..." "But mom this is also about you. Nana had her own perspective and vision but now she's gone and it's time you found some strategy to grow this place into a fire one and that is when you join hands with the clothing company, mom your talent has gotten you this far. Please don't let it slide just like that. I'm gonna go grab you some juice. BRB mumsy..." She stands up and gives her mom a kiss on the cheek and leaves the shop to the streets. She walks towards the zebra crossing and waits for the traffic lights to turn red before following the rest of the crowd to cross the streets to the other side. she enters a juice bar and grabs two orders and leaves the bar walking back to her mom's shop. She enters the tailoring shop and to the working area where her mom was arranging the place to close for the day. Riana gives her mom the juice and they both drink it up together and leave the shop to their apartment downtown. They get to their apartment and enter taking off their shoes at the entrance and head to the kitchen to make dinner together. After eating they both go to their rooms with a goodnight kiss to each other. Rian puts her bag on the floor and walks to her study table to check if she was approved by The school on her laptop. She checked her mails but hadn't gotten any and sat there looking at the laptop with a disappointed look. Her phone buzzes and she sees a message from her friend Lexi "so did you get in?" Riana stared at her phone for some minutes and decided to reply "nah haven't checked yet. I will tomorrow babes. you got in gurl?" she bit her lips slightly after lying to Lexi but had no other option and didn't know how to tell her she's scared she won't even get in. "nope I didn't get in but fortunately I applied for two scholarships and the other took me in, Westhill Academy. it's a bit close to your dream school so if you get in I could visit my gurrrrlll,maybe" Riana reads the text with a little smile on her face and puts the phone on the table and shifts her gaze to a picture of her and her dad. "if you could go to Presley Bridge Academy, can I also?..." The next morning, she was awakened by a buzz from her phone and quickly sits up and takes her phone turning it on to see the mail heading "CONGRATULATIONS RIANA BELL RYAN, YOUR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION TO PRESLEY BRIDGE ACADEMY HAS BEEN GRANTED" she looked at her phone with her mouth open and surprised "omg I must be dreaming" she screams and calls out her mom and Lydia rushes in "you got in right? , yes!!! you did it! I'm so proud of you honey" she kisses Riana and hugs her tightly almost squeezing her "mom your squeezing the life out of me" she says jokingly with a laugh and sighs "I can't believe this mom.
