It was just like any ordinary day at the orphanage after I was scolded by one of the nuns at the orphanage for fighting back against the bully Marcy ,she told me to sit outside as punishment without serving me any food ,I sat outside with tears running down my cheeks while clumping on the rusting necklace I had with me ,I was told by the head nun that My so called parents left it there with me she told me that even my parents hates my nasty attitude,so like always I held it for comfort always telling myself that am special,when I have already taken more than thirty minutes outside the nun came out and dragged me inside while mumbling something I couldn't hear properly,as soon as she closed the door to our room Marcy and some of her puppets came to me once more to mock me calling me a badluck, my body started to literally fume with anger ,i slapped her unintentionally she shouted just for the head nurse to appear at the door looking so serious ,I gulped down my fear and prepared myself for the worst to happen as usual I was scolded but not like any normal scolding they saw me fuming and called me a witch ,Since that time I have been living under my own shadow being left out and hated the most for two whole weeks , early one morning we saw two couple climbing out of a limousine,my instincts told me they were there to adopt but I didn't care about getting close to them or anything because I was sure I will not be picked ,Marcy pushed through the crowd to greet the couple she was acting so well behaved with a smug grin on her face anytime we locked eyes ,I went inside our room and started to read a book which helped me to calm down ,I heard Marcy laughing uncontrollably while running towards the room I felt overwhelmed and a bit curious,she came to me and said " I am finally going to get the life that I deserve away from you " I pushed past her and continued reading the couples took Marcy with them and donated a huge sum of money to the orphanage.two days later we saw the same familiar car and I thought they were there to adopt another one or they were just there to pick up Marcy's belongings . I heard the head nun shouting my name "Elena" I rushed to the sound of her voice which led me to her office I saw the couples with Marcy sitted in there calmly ,I asked her why she called me ,she told me the couple wanted another girl to adopt and Marcy specifically chose me ,I knew she did it just to Torture me everyday but I have already accepted my fate, I packed my clothes and followed them home just as we arrived at their home reality hit me ,I was adopted as a nanny not as their daughter and Marcy planned it all along ,I was sent out of the mansion to live in a small cottage with their horses and other animals ,early in the morning the lady Mrs Moore woke me up with a pile of papers on her hands telling me that it is my task ,I looked at it crying from within but I dared not let her see my weakness i nodded and looked at it ,she said to me "you have an hour to do each of it if you are one second late you will be eating from the trash" ok I mumbled.I saw my first task which was breakfast,I had to prepare breakfast for them and I was the only maid in the house the others were sacked according to Marcy ,I went out to the garden and plucked some vegetables and apples to use and prepare breakfast I had to rush it up being that I grew up at the orphanage I could not cook properly so I messed it ,I went to serve them at the dining table shaking knowing that I was doomed i placed it and watched them taste it with look of disgust then suddenly Marcy spat at me "ewww what is this " I tried to explain to them that I wasn't taught how to cook but they refused to listen and told me to be ready for my punishment,they got into their car and went to eat out ,I looked around the table for some scraps of decent food ,after that I arranged the table neatly and got out to feed the animals ,two hours later as I was resting by the gardens I spotted a glow of light in the distance as it was leading me I followed it ,from the distance I saw a very beautiful lady singing to her self merrily " oh dear daughter hope you know who you are " I paid no mind to her and returned thinking my mind was playing tricks with me but throughout the whole night I could not sleep I kept thinking about what the old woman was singing and said to myself " was it about me or was it just a message"I couldn't quite understand so I slept with curious thoughts on my mind .the next day the family hired a chef and removed cooking from my day' s work when I was serving the food I heard Mr Kingston Moore the most ruthless person in the house telling Marcy something in a curious tone I thought it was about me so I leaned to listen I heard him talking about how she should Marry his business partner Damon Lewis ,I heard that name somewhere i don't know if it was in my dreams or where but his name sounds dominant,I sighed a hope of relief and went out that afternoon Mr Moore came back from his office with two Men in black I couldn't see their faces even as I glanced at them i could barely see anything, they went in ,as they went in Mr Moore called Marcy she came in and that was the first time ever that Marcy was really scared and nervous Damon Lewis was one of the men in black he took one glance at Marcy at turned his head away muttering to his companion " she is not the one but we will manage" he shook hands with Mr Moore and then they all left ,in the evening the three family members sat at the living room discussing about the wedding planning between Marcy and Damon , Suddenly lady Moore Interrupts" what if we sent someone else in her place we can't just send our beloved daughter like that to that type of man so what if we just send away that girl it's a win_win right " then they decided to let Elena suffer in place of Marcy they told Damon about the change of bride and he was ok ,the family called Elena to the living room and coaxed her to agree into the marriage proposal with Damon ,she agreed with a low calm voice saying " as long as it makes you happy " ,the following days the family started treating Elena differently they even welcomed her to the guest room inside the mansion and made her rest from her house chores ,on one Sunday evening Mrs Moore called Elena to her closet and gave her a beautiful dress to try out ,she looked effortlessly gorgeous in the dress that even the most arrogant man she knew smiled as he looked at her .to be continued.........
