Chapter 6

Chase POV

After all the drama from the night before the last thing I wanted to do today was to bump into Haven. We are meant to be investigating bullying in the high-school to which we have been informed she is the main source of it.

If I hadn’t believed it in the morning when I caught a glimpse of her walking away from greeting us, I definitely thought it after the obvious disrespect she showed when she vomited on Reece. ‘You wrong’ Apollo piped up in my head. He’s been upset with me since we got back to the school. ‘Shut up Apollo, you don’t know anything’ I’ve lost me temper towards him, he doesn’t know there stories I’ve heard. ‘Your going to regret this Chase’ with that I sealed him off from talking to me. I get enough unnecessary lectures to my human form the last thing I need is them in my head.

I’ve been waiting out the front of the school for the last 15minutes waiting on Reece and Alex to move their buts. Granted I walked out of the

Way your attitudes been today.” Alex was the first one out always with a smartass comment that tests me. “Where’s Reece?” I didn’t want his conversation to continue any longer. “Not sure, I know he had English with Ms Green” he said with a shrug, that explains it. Even towards us she’s a headcase. Before I could say anything I saw Reece coming out the front door with a trail of women trying to get his attention. “Ladies, I’m sorry to be blunt but I am waiting for my mate. Please respect myself and her but leaving me alone”. If Alex and I weren’t already smirking at this the collective awes from the she-wolves definitely would’ve made us crack. He made his way over to us and plopped down in the front seat in a groan, causing Alex to go into tears of laughter. Exhausted with the day I gave the keys to Alex and jumped into the back seat closing my eyes as I rested my head along the back seat.

We’d been driving for a little longer then normal, both knew that if I gave them the keys and got in the back seat it meant I wanted the longer route. Suddenly the car stopped with a slight screech and pulled over which caused both myself and Reece to question Alex “WHAT THE F*CK ALEX” we said in unison. “Im sorry I saw a young she-wolf collapse into the concrete and I wanted to check she was okay. There was no reason for her to fall”. I grunted in approval and kept my eyes shut as Alex got out of the car ‘Dude I think that’s Haven he’s checking on’ Reeces voice in my head caused my eyes to flash open and move straight to a window, sure enough it was her and as soon as she heard him coming near she ran. ‘Reece I want her to work harder labor tonight for the disrespect of her Beta and Gamma today’ was all I replied with, Reece knew not to argue with me on this. Alex got back in the car with a thump “God you stink like wet dog” Reece called out as soon as Alex got in the car. “What did you really expect I went outside the car in a storm I feel drenched to the bone” Reece decided it would be the perfect time to taunt him “Was she your one true love, it looked like the first encounter turned out perfectly. Although I do have a few pointers” before he could say anything else Alex had hit him in the chest firm enough that he knew he was joking “Nah I was going to bring her into the car and offer her your lap” he said back to him. Something must’ve triggered my aurora as Reece was soon talking to me ‘Dude will you relax already, it was just a joke we know she’s no one’s mate’ ‘I’m fine’ was all I could huff out before closing the link. ‘She’s not as bad as your claiming her to be’ Apollo tried to reason with me ‘She’s a wolf-less Omega, that is causing upset within my pack, she bullies and fights other students and defied my Beta then vomited on him’ I said to him and closed him off to, I spent the rest of the ride thinking about her, how I would punish her disrespectful behaviour, but I couldn’t think of anything it was like my mind refused to let me.

Reece POV

By the time we reached back to the pack house it was about 5pm, Chase wanted the long route and then Alex got hungry so we stopped at the local diner. ‘Your Omega should be here around 5:30 if she’s late call me and I will punish her tonight’ it was a swift command from Chase, he’s allowing her little room for disrespect. ‘Yes Chase’ was all I said to him. I walked myself up to the third floor of the pack house, and straight into my room. ‘God what a day Colt’ ‘I know I’m exhausted. What do we get the she-wolf to do?’ ‘She’s not a she-wolf Colt, she is a human’ I left our conversation there. She was not a she-wolf something our wolves are just gonna have to figure out.

I decided to have a shower to help relax my muscles, when I got out I was receiving a link from Chase ‘One of the guards just informed me that Haven is at the door’ Was all that was said, I was getting tired of his attitude lately. I quickly dressed into some jeans and a t-shirt and made my way down to the lobby, what I saw surprised me though.

I saw Alex trying to converse with her, asking if she was okay of if she would like a towel. You could smell the dirty rain water on her from the top of the steps, she definitely needed a bath ‘Alex don’t’ I warned him, knowing that Chase would most likely make an appearance to frighten her further ‘Come on man don’t be like that, she threw up on you earlier but I think it was more an accident then anything’ Alex tried to reason with me while talking to Haven, she looked petrified to be here, all she’s doing is working she shouldn’t be so dramatic “N-no th-thank y-you G-Gamma Alex” she stuttered out to his question “shouldn’t you be working” the boom of Chases voice let us know that he was watching the scene. The hairs on the back of my neck told me he was right behind me “Y-y-yes Alpha Chase” she replied in a meek voice, bowing her head so low I was surprised she didn’t snap her neck. ‘Get her out of site Reece’ Chases voice echoed in my head ‘What’s his problem it was his idea she came?’ Colt voiced the question id also been wondering ‘I don’t know buddy we’ll have to talk to him when she leaves’ “Come with me” I commanded her and she complied, as expected. ‘Please go easy on her Reece she’s still a member of this pack and she’s petrified of something’ I glanced at Alex and gave him a sharp nod. All she was doing was working off her debt that was all.

Haven POV

I arrived at the pack house at 5:35, I was late, I’m going to get so many lashings. The guards blocked my path as I was entering demanding to know why I was there “I-I was ordered here by A-alpha Chase and Beta R-Reece sir” I kept my head low and waited for his response, clearly contacted Alpha Chase or Beta Reece via mind link. “You may go in and wait in the lobby” he said gruffly “t-thank you sir”. I limped my way into the pack house as instructed and made myself small in the corner whilst I waited for doom.

I heard foot steps approaching me, I waited with eyes tightly shut for a hit that never came, I didn’t belong in here, my father had forbade me to ever step foot in the pack house. “Hello, are you okay?” I recognised that it was Gamma Alex approaching me and I started to shake slightly, mostly from fear but also from the fact that I had walked 8km in a thunderstorm, with a limp slowing me down to get home rush to do the chores and arrive here on time still in the same drenched to the bone clothes. I nodded violently when I realised I hadn’t responded. “Your absolutely soaked would you like a towel?” I shook my head indicating no, I was going to get into so much trouble, not only have I walked into the pack house against my fathers orders, I came here in clothes that are making the ground soppy and the Gamma is offering to help, rather me do the job I was raised to do. “N-no th-thank y-you G-Gamma Alex” I didn’t think I could speak a word with how tight my throat felt, let alone stutter out that sentence. “shouldn’t you be working” as soon as I finished my reply to Gamma Alex, Alpha Chase boomed this out to me. I couldn’t help the violent shaking as a reaction to his question, authority oozed from him naturally. I found myself bowing my head at a neck breaking low, I was trying everything to not get killed tonight. “Y-y-yes Alpha Chase” I squeaked out my reply making myself smaller then I already was. I could feel all there eyes on me, I stood out like a wine stain in a white dress, tears I didn’t think I could have started to build in the corners of my eyes but I would not let a single one drop while I was here. “Come with me” I heard Beta Reeces command and complied instantly and followed him, I got to the base of the stairs before I faulted, I heard a familiar voice cackle from the room beside the staircase. It was a spine shivering sound I’ve only heard on the anniversaries I couldn’t help but flick my eyes towards the sound as I stopped. “Are you coming or not, I haven’t got all day to waist” I barely heard Beta Reece as he spoke to me, frozen to the spot listening to the sound of my father in the next room. He’ll know I’m here. I quickly nodded when I found myself face to face with Beta Reece, he’d made it the rest of the way down the stairs as I was frozen in place. “Don’t make this harder on yourself” I heard him say in a low voice, I don’t think he was trying to be threatening but everyone sounds that way to me. I followed behind him up the steps all the way to the third floor, I barely had enough time to see how magnificent the house was as I was trying my best to keep up with Beta Reece whilst in intense pain and limping. “Are you hurt?”
