Jared growled softly as he turned his head slowly, scanning nervously and noticing several pairs of narrowed eyes fixed on them. Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to relax, running his hand through his hair. Although there was still anger in his eyes, he had his aggression under control. "Regarding Elsa..." he began, but Chloe interrupted him by raising her hand and silencing him. "I couldn't care less about your excuses, and I'm sure Raina doesn't want to hear them either," she hissed. "Chloe, please… at least hear my own side of the story." Jared pleaded, attempting to catch Raina's attention. "I think we should hear him out," Evan interjected thoughtfully. "Hear him out." Chloe and Raina responded in disbelief. "Yes, so we can decide how much pain we want to inflict on him when we are done with him." Evan snarled, revealing his blade nails. Jared stepped back cautiously seeing the blade nails. "Put those blade nails back inside; you're not going to slice my throat with them, that would be breaking the law." Jared warned. Raina sighed heavily, stood up, and placed a hand on Evan and Chloe's shoulders. "It's alright. I want to hear what he has to say." Raina said calmly. Evan and Chloe snorted in disgust, then moved to the side and sat down, keeping their gaze fixated on Jared. Jared visibly relaxed, his shoulders slumping as he locked eyes intensely with Raina. "Thank you, Rae," he said gratefully, taking a step closer and reaching for Raina's hands. Raina took a step back and glared at him coldly. "It's Raina, and don't touch me with the same hands that were all over Elsa," Raina stated, her expression filled with distaste. Jared looked wounded and dropped his hands to his side. "Raina, please, I don't know what happened... honestly. I came as we planned and we would have spent the night together. The last thing I remember is drinking with Elsa. After that... I have no memory." he explained. Chloe and Evan snorted simultaneously and exchanged meaningful looks. "That's the best lie you could come up with?" Raina sneered coldly. "I swear, Raina! It sounds crazy, but it's the truth! Even my wolf doesn't remember anything! Please, he's furious about the whole situation," Jared pleaded. Raina felt her heart ache for his wolf as memories of their past scenes together flooded her mind. "Don't dare feel sorry for him. He should be grateful that I haven't revealed my presence to the public yet, otherwise I'd break his legs," Leia growled furiously. "You really have terrible taste in guys," Leia added, and Raina chuckled humorlessly. "Really? Then tell me why your wolf didn't stop you or why you both were enjoying your precious time with Elsa," Raina's anger began to rise. Jared looked momentarily stunned, confusion crossing his face again. "What? No! That's not... no! There was never any 'precious time'!" he protested incredulously. "Really?" Raina smirked contemptuously. "Elsa was more than happy to tell me everything..." "I swear she's lying, Raina! You have to believe me!" he said, anger creeping into his voice. "Actually, I don't, Jared. I caught you with her on the bed. Elsa claims she's pregnant with your pup and admitted it... So while I was working about our future, you were busy fooling around." Raina said. The atmosphere fell silent as their argument escalated, drawing unwanted attention. Raina had wanted to avoid this public confrontation at all costs to prevent negative publicity for their packs. "I'm done with all this, Jared. We're finished," she declared. "So that's it? You're throwing our seven years together all away?" he snorted incredulously before his face darkened with anger, glaring at her back. " You should have considered that before fooling around. Do you know what...? Thank you. If I had been with you that evening, I would not have gone to that mating ball or found my mate..." Jared laughed. "Your mate? Nobody will be happy to take a weak human who can't wolf out as a mate, Riana." "Oh, Jared, you're mistaken. My mate is overjoyed to have me, and I am overjoyed to have him as well." "You can't...." Jared glared at her, his rage building until he finally exploded, roaring as he slammed his fist on the table. The cups and plates rattled in protest. Raina faced him again, her eyes devoid of feeling. "Oh yes, Jared, I can. And I already have," she said, her eyes shifting to the Sparkling Sacred thread on her hand. "Well, Jared, we are done, and I am freeing myself from this Sacred bond between us." With that, the Sacred thread stop sparkling and fell to the ground. Jared glared at Raina furiously, his body trembling. Raina felt the connection between them and his wolf gone. They stared at each other in silence as a dangerous energy radiated from Jared. "I don't accept your breakup, which means this thread stays," Jared said through gritted teeth, raising his right hand to reveal his own Sparkling Sacred thread. Without accepting Raina's breakup, the thread remained, implying that they were still partially together. "What's going on here..." A deep voice resonated from behind Jared.
