The Day You Walked In
"His soul only to protect the girl who never knew he existed. Their worlds were never meant to meet but their paths finally crossed"
Clouds gathered, and rain began to fall.Nora looks and feels the rain through the window of the bus. She has wavy black hair and blue eyes.
She feels the rain and the coolness of the atmosphere.Suddenly, the phone rings. Nora picks it up.
"Hello, Magnus?"
"Hello, where are you?"
"Yeah, I'm on my way," Nora replies.
Her stop arrives. She steps off the bus while still on the phone, grabs her umbrella, and starts to cross the road.
While crossing a car sped toward her, tires hissing. Shocked, Nora gasped, 'Oh my god!' and hurried across the road.
"What? What happened?" Magnus asked, his voice tight with alarm.
"I-I'll talk to you later!" Nora stammered, ended the call.
On her way, she thought about the incident and tried to calm herself down. "It was just my luck," she whispered.
She entered a cafe, where her friends, Elora and Magnus, were waiting. They immediately walked toward her.
"Hey, are you okay?" Elora asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Nora replied.
"Okay, have a seat," Magnus said.
They sat at the table.
"What happened to you?" Magnus asked.
"While I was crossing the road, a car came speeding toward me," Nora explained. "But thank God, it missed me. Nothing happened."
Thank God," Elora said. "You should watch the road when you walk."
"I do watch!" Nora insisted.
"Hey, don't be silly," Elora replied.
Magnus smiled. "Okay, girls, let's order."
"I want a latte," Elora said.
"Me too," Nora added.
Magnus turned to the waiter. "Two lattes and one cappuccino, please."
The order arrived, and they each took their drinks.
So, what's the plan?" Nora asked. "Classes and exams are finally over, and we have a month and a half to wait for our results."
Magnus nodded. "I'm going to help with my father's business. I've already started learning the ropes and getting involved."
"Oh," Elora said. "I think I'll just keep working at my part-time cafe job for now."
Nora smiled wistfully. "That's good for both of you. I don't have a job yet, but I really want to work in a library."
"Why haven't you looked for a job at a library?" Elora asked.
"I've already checked three libraries," Nora replied, "but they don't have any vacancies. Two of the owners said they would let me know if a position opens up
Magnus leaned forward. "I know a library, and the owner is a friend of my dad's. I think they might have a vacancy. You should go talk to him. I'll mention it to my dad, too."
Nora : Oh, okay! Thank you, Magnus.
Elora grinned. "Okay guys, what else is new? And Magnus, how are things with your girlfriend?"
Magnus sighed. "Well... I want to call her my girlfriend, but I haven't confessed my feelings to her yet."
Nora : Oh, what an untold love story!
"Why haven't you told her?" Elora asked.
"I want to, but I just don't know how," Magnus admitted.
"You should tell her immediately!" Nora urged. "Why have you waited this long?"
"I know," Magnus said, "But I feel so afraid when I'm around her."
"Why are you afraid? I don't understand," Nora said, confused.
Elora laughed. "You'll understand once you fall in love yourself."
Nora rolled her eyes "Oh, please. These days, the only thing I'm falling for is problems!"
Elora looked at her warmly. "Oh, you're right. Just make sure you take care of yourself, okay?"
Nora smiled. Yaah Okay
Nora sipped her drink and asked, "Do you guys ever get the feeling like you're not actually alone? Even when you're sure no one is there?"
"It must be a ghost, Nora," Magnus joked.
Elora sighed. "Oh, stop it. Don't overthink, guys. It's just a feeling."
The conversation ended as they finished their drinks. Elora checked her watch.
"Okay guys, it's time," Elora said. "I've got a shift later."
"I'll talk to my dad about that library position tonight, Nora," Magnus Said. "I'll message you."
"Thanks, Magnus," Nora said, feeling a little lighter.
Elora grabbed her bag. "We should get going."
Magnus and Nora stood up. They stepped out of the café together.
"Okay, bye guys, see you!" Magnus said.
"Yeah, see you," Elora replied.
"Okay, bye!" Nora added.
They said their goodbyes and headed their separate ways into the afternoon air, leaving the café behind.
The rain stopped. Nora entered a grocery shop and bought some things for home. She walked to the bus stop while listening to music through her earphones. When the bus arrived, she got on. She looked out the window while she continued to listen to her music.
When her stop arrived, she got off the bus. She walked home, put the groceries in the kitchen, and went to her room upstairs. She freshened up and came back down. She turned on the TV, but she soon checked her phone.
She wanted to be a good writer, but she struggled. She had many topics, but she could not concentrate on just one.
She turned off the TV and went to the kitchen. She made some food while listening to music and dancing. She loved music.
While she was eating, a message arrived. She picked up her phone and checked it. It was from Magnus: "I told my dad about the vacancy. He talked to the owner about you. You can visit the library in the morning."
Nora replied, "Oh, okay! Thanks, Magnus."
Nora thought, "I want to go in the morning. If I get this job, it will be great." She turned off the lights and went upstairs. She washed her face and lay down on her bed.
While she was lying in bed, many thoughts came to her mind. She thought about many things, but then she told herself it was time to sleep. She decided not to think about anything else, and she fell asleep.
It was morning. She turned off the alarm and got up.
She got ready and went downstairs. She made a simple breakfast, ate, and drank some tea. Then, she went outside. The air felt cool under the morning sun.
She checked the library's location on Google Maps. It was not far, only a half-hour trip. She waited at the bus stop, and when the bus arrived, she got on. She felt a little nervous, so she took a deep breath. She felt relieved. She got off the bus and walked toward the library.
She entered the library and said,
"Hello, ma'am. My name is Nora. I am looking for a job."
A middle-aged woman at the front desk said, "Oh, okay wait I will call the manager."
"Okay," Nora replied.
The woman, whose name was Luna, picked up the landline phone and made a call. A moment later, a middle-aged man arrived.
"Are you Nora?" he asked.
"Yes, sir," Nora replied. "I am looking for a job. I just finished my degree exams and am waiting for my results."
The man, James, nodded. "Okay. You are Magnus's friend, aren't you? His father told me about you."
"Yes, sir," Nora said.
"Okay, Nora," James said. "You have the job. Please talk to Leo, one of the employees, and he will give you all the details."
"Okay, thank you, sir," Nora said.
James nodded. "Okay, carry on."
Leo walked over to Nora. "Hello, I'm Leo," he said, shaking her hand.
"Hi, I'm Nora," she replied.
Leo pointed to the middle-aged woman. "That is Luna."
"Hello," Nora said to her.
"Okay, come on," Leo said. "I need to enter your details into the computer, and you must sign this book every day. You can choose your payment method, and if you have any doubts, just let me know."
Leo finished entering her details into the computer.
Leo said, "Let me show you the book sections. That way, you can easily help readers choose books, and you can put the books back in the right sections."
Nora nodded. "Okay," she said.
After showing her the sections, Leo said, "Okay, I think you understand. If you have any doubts, let me know. You can start your work now."
"Okay," Nora replied.
She was ready to begin. There were many books to put back, so she picked them up and started walking to the shelves to return them to their proper places.
Nora tried to carry a heavy stack of books, but they started to slip. She stumbled. Before the books could fall, a steady hand held them in place. She looked up and saw a tall man with wavy black hair and dark eyes. For a moment, the world felt still, and they just looked at each other.
