Chapter 26 Ben
She’s late. The game is almost over, and she’s not here. Her parents are here cheering me on with my parents along with Mack and Sheila, and my aunt and uncle. They’re all here except for the one person I want to see in the stands.
“Where’s Chloé?” Andy asked. We were both in the dugout watching our teammates batting.
“I don’t know,” I replied. My phone is in my locker, and I’m itching to contact her. Where is she? She’s been distant and unhinged these last couple of days, and I’m getting worried. Is it because she’s about to leave? I don’t want her to go. I’ve been trying to convince her to stay, but she won’t hear it. She’s determined to leave.
