Her Scent Like Amber

Writers POV

As the cold breeze blew, Ethan sat on the grass beside the river with a fishing rod in his hands. Axel was standing beside him as he watched as Ethan laid the bait and threw the fishing line into the river.

"The river's so clear, why bother using a fishing rod when you could just use your hands easily, the fishes have gotten smarter you know." Axel said.

"The taste's different, A fishing line caught fish tastes better than hand caught." Ethan eplied in a smooth and calm tone.

"But you're not gonna eat the fish are you" Axel asked again but was met with the cold glare from Ethan.

"What's today's schedule?" Ethan asked.

"The mate matching party, as an Alpha you must attend" Axel replied.

The expression on Ethan's face remained nevertheless unchanging, "Let Chester do that" he said as he tightened his grip on the fishing rod and dragged out the line. A mackerel was wiggling to and fro as it tried to escape from it's predator.

"Keep it in the basket" Ethan said as he handed over the fishing line with the fish still wiggling on it.

Axel took the fishing line and and removing the fish, he placed it in the woven basket and covered it. "It would be improper I think if the Alpha doesn't appear in his packs mate matching ceremony, especially since you're not yet mated yourself" he said as he turned facing Ethan who was taking off his black leather gloves.

"You should know how well I hate parties, just let Chester do the job, he's been quite busy, let him enjoy himself a little" Ethan replied as he placed the gloves on Axels hand.

"What about your mate, the Elders sure would love to question your disappearance in the mate matching party especially as you're not yet mated, who knows you could find your mate there!" Axel warned.

"The elders do know how to keep their mouth shut but you don't. I'll be going to the Jade Villa, ohh and don't forget the fish, I'm sure it's really important to your mother" Ethan said before shifting into his wolf form.

His bright golden wolf was a spectacular sight, he howled loudly like an Alpha that he was as the cold wind brushed against his golden fur, he set his blue eyes to the west and without wasting time, he mounted the forest path as the crisp noise of frozen trees rumbled all through.

"s**t!" Axel cursed loudly. "I might as well quit than die facing you and those old men who calm themselves elders" he sais angrily.

"Ethan, Ethan, Ethan" Chester shouted as he entered the office where he could sense Ethan's scent. "Ethan!" He called out for the last time.

"What's wrong" Ethan said coldly as he came out from the secret library.

"Ha! Really thought you're not gonna come" Chester said.

"Yeah, that's quite oblique, actually speaking though I may be here you're still gonna do the main work. I came here just to prepare some documents" Ethan said as he dropped some books on the table and sat down.

"Understood, I'll be downstairs if you need me" Chester said before leaving the room.

Ethan opened the book to read before he began preparing the documents. He loosened his tie a bit to make himself more comfortable. As he continued reading he smelled a very unusually unique scent which seemed to trigger his wolf.

He used his telekinesis to shut the door tight as well as the windows so as to not be distracted by anything. But the scent still couldn't be driven away, he felt an unusual tingling with his wolf as he couldn't resist the urge to break out from the office to find where the scent was coming from.

He could feel the mate bond pulling closer amd he tried to resist it with all his might.

"Mate, mate, mate" he could hear the word ringing in his ear. His eyes glowed as his wolf was trying to be dominant. Uncontrollably, he banged the door open amd followed the scent. As he looked downstairs, his expression became colder and his killing intent arose as he saw her in the arms of another.

The other guy seemed to smile as he held her waist like they were dancing a couples dance.

"What do you think you're doing" he shouted authoritatively using his Alpha Command. Everyone looked at him as they could feel the coldness dominating the hall.

He used his teleportation technique to get down and with his Alpha speed, he held Axel by the throat raising him above the ground level as he pressed him to the wall.

"Alpha Ethan, you're misunderstanding, I was only saving her from falling" Axel said with a large hint of fear in his eyes.

"Better be" Ethan said after a few minutes before dropping Axel to the ground. Axel immediately scramed away to avoid the killing intent of Ethan.

Ethan looked sideways and got a closer look at her. She had a pure fair skin, her purple hair was done in a classic bun. She was putting on a black dress which was up to her knee with a curvy slit at the front. She looked extremely beautiful and he couldn't help it, probably because of the mate bond but he couldn't take his eyes off her.

She just stood staring at his cold eyes, she was quite afraid, though she tried to hide it, but he still knew for sure. He came closer to her with his Alpha speed. Their lips close to each other, he almost had the urge to kiss those pink lips of hers but he resisted.

She was about to shift backwards when he held her hands and teleported both of them to his office.

"What are you doing" she summoned the courage to ask as he pressed her to the wall with only a few centimeters separating their nose apart.

"Can you feel it" he asked as he stared into her light purple emerald eyes.

She was sure it was the mate bond je was talking about, but she definitely didn't feel it as strongly as he was feeling it. She looked at him, his golden black hair was halfway covering his face but she could still see those blue eyes of his.

The environment in the office was very tense and Paisley was almost finding it hard to breathe. His domineering aura was so tough and she looked sideways to avoid getting hypnotized by his beauty. "Maybe" she replied.

He chuckled as he heard her say this without even looking at his face, obviously she was lying. "You're lying"

"No I'm not"

"Then why'd you avoid my eyes?" He asked.

"You're already so attracted to me and you can't help it right?" he said again.

"Let go off my hands now would you"

"No! Still haven't gotten a good look at you yet" he said as he came closer to her taking a deep sniff of her scent. "Amber" he said as he inhaled deeply.

"You're being much of a pervert" Paisley said being uncomfortable about having his head beside her neck, improper thoughts waved through her mind and she immediately shun them without hesitation.

After taking a deep sniff he let go of his grip on her and walked backwards as she breathed in carefully filling her lungs with oxygen.

"Alpha Ethan" Chester knocked on the door.

"What?" Ethan said with a cold voice as he came out of the room with Paisley still inside.

"The Cuthbert's would like to speak with you" Chester said.

"Prepare the car we're leaving. Please take the damsel home " Ethan said as he walked away.

"Ethan when you say home you mean?"

"I mean the Jade Villa of course, be careful and don't let me smell you in her" Ethan commanded before leaving.

"You're more possessive than expected " Chester said shaking his head. "I'm sorry Luna but the Alpha asks that you go home immediately, I'll drive you to the Jade Villa." He said aa he entered the room.

"Jade Villa, that's not the name of the hotel I'm staying?" Paisley said with a confused look.

"No that's the Young Alpha's résidence" Chester replied.

"He's being quite possessive already " Paisley chuckled as she she soliloquized to herself. "Alright let's get going, but my luggage is still at the hotel" she said.

"That would be taken care of. Shall we" he said as he opened the door and she followed suit.
