Chapter 2 Have to make my escape before I lose myself

1242 Words
Telling Mom and Dad about what happened in the Alpha’s office was hard but explaining to my brother the sick way his best friend was staring at me was way worse. They had grown up together, being just three months apart in age. They celebrated their 21st birthday together recently and partied it up big. Seeing his love for his friend erase itself in just a few seconds was one of the worst and best things to see. His love for me was stronger and that loyalty almost made me want to stay to fight it out instead of trying to run. None of my family wanted that and started putting a plan to get me out of here before I turned eighteen. “I talked with your teachers, and they all agreed you could graduate at the end of this month,” my father rubbed my shoulders as he stood behind me and our computer. “I still don’t know where you get your smarts from but I am so damn proud of you.” “But my little girl will be all alone.” My mother wailed from the couch. “Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to give him a few kids so you can stay here with us. After a while he will be done with you and you can be free.” “Stop it, Mom!” I shouted dropping my head into my hands. “Why don’t you go pop him out some pups he won’t care about while you get told what you can and can’t do? This isn’t the way it’s supposed to be. My wolf shouldn’t feel bad for being strong, for being who she is. She is too scared to shift anymore! And you should want me safe and happy like a good mom would.” “I am a good mom! Your just spoiled rotten by your damn dad and think you are above this pack.” My mother shouted, glaring at the three of us. “Daniel, my son, tell her she should stay.” “Allison, stop it. Either be helpful in saving our daughter's life or leave.” My dad growled not even looking back at her. “Andrew!” She gasped looking shocked that he spoke to her that way. I was a bit shocked, since he never spoke to her like that. Only the warriors when they weren’t listening during training. “You heard him mom. My sister will not be some punk-ass b***h’s breeder. Leave.” Daniel stated calmly putting his hand on my shoulder and squeezed giving me reassurance. My mother left the room fuming about having a brat for her daughter and that no cared how she felt. Dad would have to deal with her later. I couldn’t focus on the bad luck of someone else right now and staying here meant I wouldn’t be able to disrespect my mother with a smack upside the head for only caring about her. “Ok, so you graduate early, and we get you in a school as far away as possible.” My brother shrugged his shoulders. “As soon as you get in town you need to find a new pack and swear in asap. Don’t worry about us. We can handle the fall out here.” I shook my head already knowing I would never let them deal with the s**t storm even if they could get me off pack lands with permission. No one has been allowed to leave for years. Dad pulled his phone out ignoring us as we argued about how stupid the plans coming out of his mouth were. He had gotten to the point of me climbing the big wall near the back of the pack that had flat walls and nothing to even help me get to the top. Like I was part frog or something. “Stop it. You only have a couple of months with each other.” Dad flicked us both on the forehead smiling. “I called in a few favors. You focus on getting your classes done while we help with getting you into the best shifter college far enough away that you can save yourself from this. I don’t know how long before he will send someone to grab you so getting into the local pack is a must.” “I know, daddy.” I hugged him, taking in his scent hoping to press it into my memory bank. “I will miss you guys so much. I wish I could tell the future and see what other innocent girl he will choose to replace me with. Someone should really cut his small p***s off and feed it to a cat.” “Gross! Go do your work, Sicko!” Danial chased me off not knowing I caught both their worried looks. This wasn’t going to be as easy as they were making it sound. “You traded in your gamma position, didn’t you?” Daniel asked Dad after he thought I had left. I knew better when Dad had pulled off such a big favor. “Yes. Stevens will be the gamma once your sister is safely at school.” I heard the sorrow in my dad’s words. “I took away your birthright, but I didn’t know what else to do. Retiring early enough to make a new family take up the position was the only shot I had.” “No. I would never be a gamma to that cursed bloodline.” Daniel growled before I heard a crash. He must have thrown something. “He is lucky I didn’t slit his throat. My wolf is stronger than his and he knows it. It’s the only reason we are friends. He tried to blackmail my mate into f*****g him on our 21st birthday with some line about the Alpha’s double-checking that fated mates are real and she wasn’t lying to me. I kicked his ass for it.” “Oh son.” Dad’s voice trembled. ‘I am going to kill Tanner.’ I told Aisling. She just nodded keeping alert. Nowhere was safe until we got out of here. Leaving them to their talk was hard, but I couldn’t listen to how everyone was going to suffer just to get me away from a man and his son who are supposed to protect the pack was even worse. No other packs that I had met let their Alpha chose who they mated with and none had breeders unless necessary. Even then, they were all willing and had lost their mates. He had no right to think I wouldn’t accept my mate nor would I even let his son get his stick wet with me. Gross. "They are going to get her to leave!" I overheard my mother in her room talking ot someone. "She has to stay. You need her and her wolf more than I need her as a daughter. Remember that, Josiah! You know they can figure out a way with the elders to get her off pack land so figure it out. I don't care what you or Tanner need to do. She needs to breed the next leaders and I want my position higher within the ladies of the pack." My own mother using me to get more power. I knew she hated me but this was too far. This will kill Dad.
