Pillow Fight

“What the hell happened to you?,” Stella asked “N-nothing, why?” I said trying to hide what just happened but my lips were plump, my cheeks were flush. There was no hiding what just happened. “You look like you just did more than get your pillow and medicine, spill it!” Stella demanded “Okay okay, I went to get my medicine out of the bathroom . Derek was apparently in there showering. He was naked, wet, and hard as f**k. Anyways so distracted I dropped my stuff. He picked it up. He somehow kissed. He stopped it before it went any further. And I rushed out of there.” “Ooooh I knew it!! I told you!!” “ I know I know, I just didn’t believe it until he like, really, really kissed me. I’ve never been kissed like that before.” “You’re gonna marry him, you just watch!” Stella said with the most serious face ever.  “Oh god, stop,” I said, throwing my pillow at her laughing. How could she predict me marry him? Is our connection that obvious. I knew from the first time I saw him he was different. There has to be reason our paths crossed. There has to be a reason why I had endured the hell that I have.  So distracted, I missed the pillow being thrown at my face. “So love struck, what will it be?” Stella says laugh "Hmm, I don't know. I kind of want to watch something funny!" I said “Oh I know, let’s watch The Other Woman!”  “How fitting,”  I said. We both laughed hysterically.  Hearing a knock at the door, Stella opened it. “Evening gals, here’s some snacks for your girls night. Have fun, don't worry about making a  mess. I’ll clean it up in the morning.” “Thank you Miss Seasly,” I said.  “Please, call me Dorthy,” Miss Seasly- Dorthy, said.  Stella and I both gave Miss Seasly, err, Dorthy a hug.  “Goodnight ya’ll.” “Goodnight Dorthy!” we both said Dorthy is an older woman in her 60's. She seems like total bad ass. She reminds me of my Grandma. Always respectful, always caring, and always cleaning.  She has her ash hair up in an elegant bun. She doesn't wear a maid suit like you see in the movies. She actually dresses elegantly. I had a feeling I'd be in her life for longer than I thought ************************************************************************ We turned on The Other Woman. It is crazy how fitting that movie is in our lives. Both of us coming together and standing up for ourselves due to our lazy piece of s**t ex. We laughed and we cried. It was so much fun.  “Girl we should have kicked him in the balls” Stella said giggling “We Totally should have!!” I said laughing. It’s good making light of such a terrible situation sometimes.  It felt good and it was needed after such a traumatic event. I can't sulk forever. Stella can't sulk forever. If we are ever gonna survive this we need to see the light at the end of the tunnel and not follow the darkness.  We still weren’t tired so we went through all the chick flicks on Netflix and picked The Notebook.  Right before we were about to start it, Derek knocked on the door. “Hey, just checking in on you two. You girls still doing okay?” “Yes! We are having a blast. We are about to watch The Notebook!! You should totally join us.” Stella said. If I didn’t know any better I’d say she’s trying to push us together. “Ugh, I think I’ll pass.” “No you are joining us!,” Stella insisted, dragging him beside me. He quickly gave up the fight and sat down.    He looked at me like I was the only person in the room, I couldn’t help but smile. What is this complete stranger doing to my heart?  He lipped “Beautiful” at me and I put my head down. He kissed the top of my head. The Notebook is such a good movie.  Stella fell asleep on my shoulder halfway through the movie.  I looked over at Derek and smiled at him.  It’s not everyday you see a man sit down and watch a chick flick just to spend time with you.  Feeling pretty comfortable with Derek, I just couldn’t help but rest my head on his shoulder. He kissed my forehead. He is such a gentleman.  It’s been a long time since I’ve felt comfortable, safe, loved. It is refreshing to say the least. I never thought I could ever be comfortable in the presence of a man again. But Derek is different. A good different. He has a good soul. He’s a man worth holding onto.
