Chapter 4: The Lycan King's Claim The sky trembled. Silver symbols blazed across the heavens like ancient stars awakening from a thousand-year slumber. Every werewolf in the region felt it. Every Alpha. Every Luna. Every enemy hidden in the darkness. The Moon Blessed One had awakened. And the world would never be the same. Selena remained frozen on the forest floor. The mysterious vision still lingered in her mind. The silver palace. The glowing throne. The woman who looked exactly like her. Most of all, those haunting words. "Wake up, my child." Her head throbbed painfully. "What is happening to me?" The mark on her wrist pulsed like a second heartbeat. Nearby, Kael stood motionless. For the first time since meeting him, the feared Lycan King looked shaken. Not frightened. Not weak. But stunned. As if he had just witnessed something he never expected to see. The monstrous Shadow Wolf leader laughed. The sound echoed through the forest. "The prophecy is unfolding exactly as predicted." Kael's golden eyes narrowed. "Silence." The creature ignored him. His crimson gaze locked onto Selena. "Do you know why they abandoned you?" Selena frowned. "What?" The creature smiled cruelly. "Because your fate was never meant to remain inside a small pack." His eyes gleamed. "You were born for kingdoms." Before Selena could reply, Kael moved. His fist crashed into the creature's face. BOOM! The impact launched the monster through multiple trees. The forest exploded into splinters. Kael's voice became deadly. "You have spoken enough." The Shadow Wolf slowly rose from the rubble. Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth. Yet he was smiling. "Protect her while you can, Lycan King." A dark portal suddenly appeared behind him. "But destiny belongs to no one." His crimson eyes met Selena's one final time. "We will meet again, Moon Blessed One." Then he disappeared. The portal vanished. Silence returned to the forest. The battle was over. For now. Hours later. Selena sat inside a luxurious carriage traveling north. She stared out the window. The moon hung high above the mountains. Everything felt unreal. Only yesterday she had been preparing to become Luna of the Blackwood Pack. Now she was traveling with the most feared king in existence. Toward a kingdom she had never seen. Toward a destiny she didn't understand. Across from her sat Kael. The Lycan King appeared calm. Yet his golden eyes never left her. It was beginning to make Selena nervous. Finally, she broke the silence. "Why do you keep staring at me?" Kael's expression didn't change. "I'm making sure you're real." Selena blinked. "What does that mean?" For a moment, something softened in his gaze. "A thousand years of waiting." His voice was unusually quiet. "And you're finally here." The words sent a strange warmth through her chest. Selena quickly looked away. Dangerous. Everything about this man was dangerous. His power. His presence. The way he looked at her. As though she was the most important thing in the world. Something she had never experienced with Damon. The thought hurt more than expected. Kael noticed immediately. "You're thinking about him." Selena stiffened. "That's none of your business." "No." The king's voice hardened. "It isn't." Yet disappointment flashed across his face. The carriage fell silent again. Outside, snow-covered mountains appeared in the distance. Selena had never traveled this far north. The landscape looked beautiful. Wild. Untamed. Much like the man sitting before her. "Tell me the truth," she finally said. Kael raised an eyebrow. "About what?" "Everything." The mark on her wrist glowed faintly. "The prophecy." "The Moon Blessed One." "The woman I saw." Her voice trembled. "I deserve answers." Kael remained silent for several moments. Then he sighed. "The Moon Goddess created four sacred bloodlines." Selena listened carefully. "One bloodline represented strength." "One represented wisdom." "One represented balance." "And one represented the moon itself." A chill crawled down her spine. "What happened to them?" "War." His expression darkened. "Three bloodlines disappeared." Selena's heart skipped. "And the fourth?" Kael stared directly into her eyes. "It survived." The realization hit her instantly. "No." "Yes." His gaze remained unwavering. "You are the last descendant." The world seemed to stop. Selena's mouth went dry. That couldn't be true. She was nobody. An ordinary she-wolf. Wasn't she? Kael leaned forward slightly. "Your family spent centuries hiding from enemies." "The bloodline weakened." "The power slept." "Until now." The mark on her wrist glowed brighter. As if confirming every word. Selena looked down at it. Everything suddenly made sense. The strange abilities. The vision. The Shadow Wolves hunting her. The prophecy. None of it was random. It had all been leading here. To this moment. To her awakening. Suddenly the carriage stopped. Kael's warriors outside became alert. A tense silence followed. The king instantly stood. His eyes turned golden. "What is it?" Selena asked. One of the guards rushed forward. "My King." The warrior looked pale. "We have visitors." Kael opened the carriage door. Selena stepped outside. Her breath caught. Dozens of riders stood blocking the road ahead. Their banners carried a symbol she recognized immediately. The Blackwood Pack. At their front sat Alpha Damon. His gaze landed on Selena. Relief flooded his face. Then his eyes shifted toward Kael. The relief vanished. Replaced by fury. Damon dismounted his horse. "Selena." His voice carried through the cold night. "You are coming home." Kael stepped forward. The temperature seemed to drop instantly. "She isn't." The two powerful Alphas stared at each other. Tension crackled in the air. Selena's heart pounded. Something told her this wasn't a rescue. It was a battle. And she was standing directly in the middle of it. Damon's eyes returned to her. For the first time in months, she saw desperation there. Real desperation. "Please," he said quietly. "Come back." But before Selena could answer, a voice echoed from the heavens. Ancient. Divine. Powerful. "The Moon Blessed One belongs to no man." Everyone froze. The moon itself began glowing. And above Selena's head, a silver crown of light slowly appeared. The blessing of the Moon Goddess had become visible to the entire world. There was no hiding anymore. No escaping destiny. The rise of the Blessed Luna had truly begun. To be continued...
