Jude woke up Thursday morning to an empty bed. He stretched and yawned. Last night hadn’t been so bad. The Warners had been extremely nice to him. Dinner had been great.
Jude really liked Rex’s sister, Amy. Like her brother, Amy loved animals, but rather than going into veterinary medicine, Amy’s dream was to work at the zoo.
He’d also met, Steve, Rex’s younger brother. He seemed okay, but Jude noticed he kept giving Jude funny looks. He’d also disappeared back into his room after dinner while the rest of them had played Trivial Pursuit.
Rex had told him a few weeks ago Stevie, as Rex called him, had asked him for a large loan. He just hoped his boyfriend wasn’t headed for hurt where his brother was concerned.
He got up, showered, and dressed in jeans and a brown buttoned-down shirt. H
