Chapter Twenty-One
Chap never really expected to learn from Francis that the envelope had arrived at Police Headquarters. Hoping it had, was a long shot at best. At that very moment, it was on his desk in the Major Crime office in Adelaide. Could it be possible his luck was changing for the better? Could this be the break he so desperately needed? His emotions oscillated wildly between anticipation and curiosity. Anticipation, because finally, he might have the first real lead in the case. Curiosity, because he had no way of knowing what the envelope contained.
It had to be more than mere coincidence that a man he hadn’t seen for forty years dies while trying to reach him, and, possibly aware his life was in danger, mails a mysterious envelope to his old friend at Police Headquarters! Wh
