Chapter 5

Kalayaan's POV

"You'll be my son's wife?" A sophisticated woman even raised her eyebrows at me.

"Hehe, yes po," I said with an awkward smile. As if I couldn't breathe because she really looked at me from head to toe. My body is clean, but what I'm wearing doesn't seem to match the way they dress.

"Hmm, nice to meet you, Hija... Did my son finally agree? Don't lower your guard. That son of mine doesn't really want himself getting tied on."

I secretly shrugged my shoulders and was a little surprised. They said that he always does something to prevent the marriage from going through, but he's not really doing anything right now. I don't know if I should be afraid of his silence. Or maybe he thinks that I'm a pushover? I will really hurt that one if that's how he thinks of me.

"May I ask where he is right now, Ma'am?" I asked his mother.

"He's already on the racing track again." His mother frowned. She looked at me before her expression gradually softened. She held my hand before I met her tender eyes.

"I hope you can help us convince him not to do anything reckless, Hija," she said to me. I only gave an awkward smile because I've been going back and forth here for several weeks and their son has always been nowhere to be found. He's always not home just what they said so I don't even know if I can do what they are asking me to.

"By the way, Papa said that you're going to study this semester? Did you already enroll yourself? Call Yuri so he can come with you," she said to me. I nodded there. Yuri's grandfather said that he'll make me study too. I took the opportunity of course.

Yuri Sphinxx also has his own house even though he looks like he depends on his grandpa and parents a lot.

Before the wedding, I will also move there. The wedding is not grand because they are in a hurry and those rich people probably don't like them to be the talk of the town. Especially since their son will marry someone poor.

I was about to go out when I saw sweaty Yuri Sphinxx, he was going inside. He looked at me for a moment and was about to pass but I immediately grabbed him. It looks like he just finished his dangerous hobby.

"Your Mom said that you should come with me to enroll," I said so he looked at me briefly. He didn't seem to have any plans to join me but my eyes just narrowed so he just scratched his head there.

"Fine, I'll take a bath first," he said so I just shrugged. It's very unfair because even if he's sweaty, he still smells so nice.

He also quickly went out afterward. I was about to get on my motorcycle when he pulled the collar of my polo shirt. I immediately glared at him.

"Maybe you want me to add another scratch on your face," I said because I saw the small wound on his lips.

"Let's just use my motorcycle."

"So fussy," I mumbled before I got on his motor. After a while, he started the engine. He's a worse driver than me. This guy is just randomly entering between the big tracks on the road and just drives at full speed.

“f**k. Do you intend to kill me?”

"I don't have time to waste for you, okay? Stop sulking.” While walking, we both argued. Both eyes were sharp as we looked at each other.

As soon as I turned my eyes to the students around me, I immediately pouted because it looked like all of them were really rich and just expensive. There are even students looking at Yuri Sphinxx. Well, their family is well-off, to begin with.

"You can pick-pocket here, Ana," Yuri Sphinxx said with a smile when he saw me looking at the people around me. I rolled my eyes at him.

"There's a lot of handsome guys here. Looks like if we end our marriage, I can look for a rich husband in this school," I whispered to him. He was aware that the marriage was only for one year, so maybe that's the reason why he agreed to this. He also knows their plan to tame him. I don't even know why he's still going along with their plan.

"What?" He was frowning but my eyes were wandering around. I was just observing but it seemed that my eyes were getting full just looking at them. How come there are so many handsome students here?

"You're here to study not to flirt with someone else and as if they will like you. You aren't that special and you're old," he said with a teasing grin while looking at me. My eyes immediately widened before I glare at him.

"What did you say?! I know that I'm not special but I'm not that old. I'm only 22. If there's an old man here, it's probably someone near me—” I still grinned as I looked back at him and also purposely didn't finish what I was going to say.

Well, he's already 27. I don't even know why they were pushing him to settle when he's still a little bit young.

“Oh, you're 22? You look older than your age. 35 perhaps?” I just made a face because I don't believe in him either. I look young for my age!

I stopped studying two years ago. Too bad I would have graduated as a nurse if I hadn't quit. But still, if they already gave me a chance, who am I to say no?

I just look like this but I really dream to become a nurse. And now, I'll fulfill that dream so I can take care of grandma even more.

Before we got to the room where the enrollment will be held, Yuri Sphinxx and I were stopped by a female professor. She looks young.

“Yuri! What are you doing here?" she asked with a smile.

"It's been so long since I last saw you and now we see each other again in this school." She even held Yuri Sphinxx's arm. Yuri Sphinxx smiled before releasing the woman's grip on him.

"Oh, who's the kid?" I pouted a little when she looked at me. Well, I'm not tall compared to both of them.

"Hi, I'm Sharmaine, I'm Yuri Sphinxx's ex," she said so I couldn't help but grin when I looked back at Yuri Sphinxx who looked so bored now. He looks like someone who would rather go out than talk with someone. He seems to get bored easily.

I still have my teasing grin. Looks like he always has the same type. Those girls with big boobs and butt then petite. Same with his ex-fiancee.

"She's my fiancee," he introduced me before turning his back on the surprised woman.
