Together Sin and Raerdel walked down the hallway of the dark castle. Oddly in contrast to the name of the Court, the halls were well lit and covered in gold. Raerdel held his hand in a death grip as they went to meet with her grandmother for the first time since she agreed to marry him. There was a dangerous game afoot, and she was concerned that somehow they would detect that she was not completely sold on their court. “Do you really think my grandmother will think I’ve drunk the Kool-Aid?” she asked as they hurried through the first floor before reaching a large set of double doors to her grandmother’s throne room.
“I have no idea what drink you’re talking about.” He looked at her strangely before pulling her through the doors.
