Deans pov
I get up from my bed and look over at Ben who is currently sleeping on the ground. it has been about a week since he started to stay here and I have to admit that he's a pain in the ass.
I have been telling him to stay in my bed instead of the floor but he always denies my help. he has also been reading the books on my shelf and telling me that my taste in books is horrible.
I walk down the stairs and into the kitchen as I grab a glass of milk. its currently five in the morning and I can't help but want to go out for a run since we haven't been able to step outside of my room for a whole week.
I manage to hear Mr. Dante's voice coming from the living room, along with my parents voices and the voice of an unknown man.
"how have you been?" I hear Mr. Dante say as I get closer to the living room.
"uncle, I have to apologize for showing up out of nowhere but I didn't know who else I could turn to." the unknown man says with a tired tone in his voice.
"It's fine, your wife will be fine as long as she rests and takes her medicine." Mr. Dante says and the whole room becomes quiet.
I realize that there is something heavy in the air about their conversation and decide to go back up to my room. 'I shouldn't be spying on other people's conversations.'
Ben's pov
"Leviticus" is what my last name was meant to be according to Mr. Geovani. I sit up as I scratch my head.
"couldn't sleep well?" I hear Dean say as he comes inside of his room and closes the door as silently as he can.
"I just can't believe that my parents weren't who I thought they were." I scratch my head. "I mean if they weren't my parents, then just who in the world were they?"
Dean sits besides me and he leans on his bed and looks at me with a curious expression. "what were they like?"
I look at him and then at the blankets on the floor. "they were kind and gentle." I cross my legs as I sit facing the closet. "I never suspected anything and I don't understand how I could never notice..." a moment of silence fills the room as I begin to tear up.
Dean doesn't say anything, he just looks at the floor as I try to hold back my tears. "but Skye never liked them. maybe I never questioned it because his eyes were the same color as Skye's and... I just thought that was enough proof."
I wipe my tears as I look at Dean and he gets up. "you should take a shower." he says as he hands me a towel from one of his drawers. "your little girlfriend is coming over and I don't want her to think that I made you cry."
I laugh as I slowly get up "right, we wouldn't want that now would we?"
the steam of the hot water feels incredible. my muscles immediately relax as I look at the ceiling.
I close my eyes and when I open them all over again, I'm in the middle of a body of water. I look around and begin to freak out until I see Skye floating beside me. Her blue hair looks almost black and her violet eyes just stare at me.
She smiles sweetly.
'ill be home soon' she says through her thoughts and I smile back as I answer 'I can't wait for you to get back here'
I continue to look at her and I can't believe that she is still alive. She pulls my right hand as she begins to observe my arm. 'it's beautiful' she says as she touches my mark. 'want to see mine?' she asks excitedly.
She begins to show me her left arm and her mark is a violet color, the same color as her eyes. I begin to observe it and I can't believe what I'm seeing. Her mark looks violet with a bit of black on it.
I look at her eyes again to confirm it and I am surprised when I see that one of her eyes is now red.
She looks at me confused and I smile as I think to myself. 'it's beautiful.'
She smiles and the water around us begins to disperse along with her image before I'm back in the shower.
" You should be careful." I hear the voice of a man say inside of my head and I freeze.
I turn off the shower and I look around the bathroom as I grab my towel.
There's no one here.
" The marks are meant to protect the kingdom and the people who are trying to get rid of the marks will come soon." the voice says again as I pass a hand through my hair.
" What do I have to do then?" I whisper, hoping that the voice will answer me but it doesn't.
I begin to dress myself up as I try to convince myself that I'm not crazy when I hear the voice say "you must protect the mark."
I look around me one more time and then in the mirror. I'm more confused than before.
the voice says to protect the mark... but which one of the three that exist?
Henry's Pov
Skye begins to grab her clothes from her room and shoves them into a sports bag.
"what's going on?" I ask confused by her actions. Skye had arrived sweating as she opened the door to her house in a hurry.
I had come to get her a pile of fresh clothes so that I could take it to Connor but she beat me to it.
"Skye what are you doing?" I ask her as she begins to grab another bag and stuff it with piles of money and papers that she hid under her bed in a box.
"I've got no time to explain, but if you want to come with me, you are more than welcome." she says as she takes the journal that Gloria gave her and she throws it all inside of her bag. "are my cars still here?" she asks without looking at me.
" Yes, they haven't been touched." I say as she quickly zips her bags and takes one in each hand. " Do you need help?" I ask as she stops to look at me.
"Connor tried to sell me to the black market," she says with a tired expression. "I managed to get away but I don't know how long it will take before I have to use my mark to hurt people."
"he would never-"
" Well, he did" she says interrupting me. " Just because he hates his father, it doesn't mean that they aren't similar." she turns to look at her room and finally she says, "I want you to come, but I know that you won't want to leave Nadeah and her family, so for now just take care of my house. I'll decide what to do with the property later."
"yeah," I say as she smiles.
" Although I've never looked at you as a father, I want you to know that you've been like an older brother to me." she lifts the strand to one of her bags and puts it on her shoulder. " Thanks, Henry."
"I take it that you want me to take care of your classic car as well," I say as she smiles widely.
"well I am running away, so I'll have to be taking a fast car. a classic won't help me much right now." she says as she walks towards her living room and grabs a set of keys from the hanger by her door.
"I'll call you once I arrive safely," she says as she leaves the house and leaves me inside bewildered by what just occurred.
My Alpha tried to sell my daughter and she showed up to get her stuff and leave. Not only that, she told me that I'm like her older brother. I walk over to the couches and sit down as I release a long sigh.
" There's no stopping her now," I say as I lean on the couch.
Skyes pov
It's been at least two weeks since I've been out on the road and I can't understand why the road on my GPS looks so small, yet it's so damn far away. My car is barely moving on the GPS and it has begun to piss me off.
I've been staying in motels in the nights and driving almost four hours a day. The roads have begun to bore me and although most of it is different I can't enjoy it like I should be. I look at the time on my new phone that I purchased as soon as I got out of the state where the Xenon pack is locate in and I activated it. I needed to know where I was going, especially since I have never driven across the country on my own before.
Today will be the last day that I have to drive if I manage to accept five long hours.
" Shouldn't you be at home?" I hear the lady at the counter say to me as I put a bag of chips on the counter and a water.
I had decided to make a stop in order to buy some gasoline and to get some snacks for the road and well here I am. standing in front of an old lady as she looks at me with a worried expression. " You aren't running away from home are you dear?" she says as she passes the snacks through the barcode gun as I smile back at her. "no, I'm actually heading home right now."
