Frostbite - effects of the encounter

Skyes pov - "Why did you do that?" Ben asks as he pulls on my arm once we are outside of the house. "What do you mean why? She's my future sister-in-law, I had to say hello." I say as I look at him look at the ground and rub his neck.  "don't tell me you are giving up because of her having a fiance?" "That has nothing to do with you," Ben says as he looks away. "Well, I'm not going to keep feeling frustrated for you," I say as I look around breathing rapidly. "You know exactly how it feels to not know if it's you who is feeling something or if it's me," I tell him as he breathes out. "Skye I-" he tries to say something but I interrupt him. "Save it." I say as I look away into the trees. "it's fine, I'm used to it anyways." A moment of silence passes as I feel his gaze on me. Ever since we were small we have had this silent communication with each other. It's almost as if I could not only read his mind but as if I could feel his feelings as well. The rest of the wolves that we know think that we are lying all the time in order to gain the attention from the alpha that Henry belongs to but in reality, we could care less for him, or anyone in general for a matter of fact.  The only downside to this whole thing is that most of the feelings that we share come from Ben. Over the years we have both noticed that he's the one who goes through a roller coaster of emotions and I always have to deal with feeling them along with him. "Even if you do feel what he feels it shouldn't be that bad. You're exaggerating" Henry tells me all the time. The only thing is that I'm not exaggerating about the confusing feeling that I get. I hate it when I can't seem to know if what I'm feeling comes from Ben or me.  One of the things that I hate the most from these people who surround me is that they don't understand half of the s**t I have to deal with. "I'm sorry," Ben says as he looks at the road. "I guess I just don't want to trouble her." "so you would rather trouble me?" I ask as I cross my arms. "look I'm not saying I hate you, I'm just saying that you need to get what you want every once in a while. after all, you deserve it." I say as I touch his arm "why is it that you can't even realize that?" Ben and I look at each other for about a minute before we hear Henry walking behind us. "Woah there! twins aren't supposed to be flirting with each other" he jokes as he smiles at the both of us. "We- we weren't," Ben says as I move away from him and stretch out my arms as I continue to look away from Henry. "Alright, alright. I believe you don't worry" Henry says as he walks in front of me "we have to go now, though. I gathered as much information for now so we have to go back to the hotel so that I can finish my work." Deans pov The party continues as I sit with Scarlett in the backyard. "so what exactly do you want to do tomorrow?" I as her as she continues to stare at the statue in the middle of the flowers." she seems to be looking far away into something. I wave my hand in front of her eyes but she doesn't move. "Scarlett" "what?" she asks as she looks at me surprised. "sorry what were you saying?" "are you alright?" I ask her as she moves away from me on the bench. "I don't know but..." she rubs her forehead "the twins that we saw today." she manages to say as she looks at me with a troubled expression. "what about them?" I ask confused. 'why would they be a bother to her? we just saw them today.' "The brother of that girl." she manages to say before she rubs her hands on her hair wildly as she screams in a high-pitched tone. "I'm probably just going crazy," she says as she tries to recuperate her breath. "what do you mean?" I ask mildly scared of her. she has never shown frustration in front of me, especially while ruining her hair. "it's just I-" she pauses as she begins to cry. "are you okay?" I ask completely confused. "I don't even know why I'm crying, it's just his expression..." she begins to tremble as she covers both of her eyes and cries softly. After I took Scarlett home I was so tired that I jumped into my bed as soon as I got home. 'why would she cry over the expression of a stranger?' I look up at the ceiling as I breathe out. I close my eyes and suddenly I'm hit by the image of the strange twins that we met tonight.  I open my eyes as I sit down on the side of my bed and I rub my neck.  They were strange. There was something odd about those twins.  There was a feeling of respect that overtook me when I saw the brother. His posture gave out the aura of intelligence which scared me in a way.  the girl on the other hand just gave me an odd vibe. she seemed to be protecting her brother the whole time. her stance was protective and she spoke to the Alpha that was present there without respect. I think that the weirdest thing about them was their eyes. the boy's eyes were pure black and looked at his surroundings with annoyance, but the girl's eyes were another story.  her black eyes showed no emotion.  they looked like mirrors, reflecting whatever she saw.  they looked almost dead. Her eyes were dead... Skye's pov "you know that you are both siblings right?" Henry says as he comes out into the balcony of the hotel room and stands next to me. "what do you mean?" I ask feeling insulted. He takes out a cigarette and begins to smoke it as he grins down at me. "what? you think I haven't noticed the way that you look at him?" he shakes the bottom of the cigarette into the concrete as he pulls it back up into his lips. "what the hell are you trying to say?" I ask as I send daggers at him with my eyes. "I'm not saying it's wrong, just remember to not have children." he chuckles, making me angry.  "f**k off," I say as I move away from him and head towards the balcony door. "Skye," he says as I turn to look at his back. "I'm serious though, stop worrying about him so much and start taking care of yourself more properly." he turns towards me as he leans on the concrete rail. "the love that you have for your brother is blinding you to the point that you don't care about what happens to you." "yeah..." I smirk right back at him as I say "but that's none of your business now is it?" as I walk towards the balcony door and leave him out there to smoke out his cigarette without looking back.
