Hatred

“Uugghh!!” Amaya groaned, not knowing what had happened to her as she tried to open her eyes. The sudden light and the surface of the bed she lay on felt strange and unfamiliar. Finally able to open her eyes, she looked around, wondering where she was. She saw a figure with their back to her. “Hello, who are you?” she asked, looking around as the person quickly turned back. “Oh my goodness, Amaya! You’re finally awake! I was beginning to get so worried that something had happened to you. Please don’t scare me like that again!” The memory of what happened earlier that day came rushing back like a floodgate. She began to feel irritated by his touch and presence. Looking at him she felt more irritated and disgusted and might not help throwing up anytime soon “Get your damn hands off me, right now !” she said in a low, angry tone. “What did you say?” Edward asked, looking at Amaya, confused. He thought she wouldn’t remember what she saw, but he was more than surprised to see that she did. “I said, get your damn hands off me right now ! Get it off me!” she screamed at the top of her voice, forcing herself to stand up. She immediately felt dizzy and, not knowing how to control it, stayed calm for a moment. “You need to rest from the concoction. Let the doctor arrive, then you can go home if you’d like, please!” “Stay away from me!” She pushed his hands off her, not wanting to be touched by the same hands that had touched her sister. “How dare you do this to me!” Amaya said as tears streamed down her cheeks. She couldn’t hold back the anguish as her emotions overwhelmed her. “How dare you hurt me this way! We’re getting married in a month, and all you could think of is cheating on me!” Crying, she held her chest, the emotions flooding her. The pain increased by the minute. Everything started getting blurry again. “It’s not what you think, Amaya. I can explain, okay? Please forgive me!” Edward said, kneeling before her as he couldn’t bear to see her this hurt. “With my sister, of all people, Edward! My own sister, in your house!” She was visibly shaking. Unable to look at him anymore, she pushed him aside and walked into the living area. Seeing her bag, she walked over to pick it up. There stood her sister, with a smug grin on her face as she sipped a cup of coffee, still wrapped in Edward’s shirt. “Are you happy now?” Amaya asked her sister, looking at her with tears rolling down her face. Chloe didn’t flinch. “Yes, I am, Amaya. I’m also happy that you won’t be marrying him. I’m so happy I could make you cry like a baby. I’m so happy you won’t be getting married!” Chloe concluded, laughing at her sister. The tension kept rising, and it enraged Amaya even more. “You can have him, you witch!” Amaya saw the look of hurt on her sister’s face, but she didn’t care anymore. From that moment, she disowned her. “You chose to betray me in this way. I hate you and never want to see you again!” Those were her last words before she stormed out. She knew going home was a bad idea. Driving cautiously to her father’s house, she headed straight for her room, tears still flowing down her face. She could feel the stares of the maids as they watched her. “Amaya! Amaya!” She heard her name being called by her sister. Not wanting to be bothered, she lay down in her room, crying her heart out. “Sweetheart, oh baby, I didn’t know you loved him that much, but we always loved each other, and I met him before you!” “Are you serious right now, Chloe? How selfish can you be? You’ve always wanted what I had, right? Well, there you go, you can have him!” “Yes, I’ve always wanted what you had, and now I have him. You have nothing!” Amaya smirked through her tears, looking at her sister. “How much happier can you be now, knowing you broke your sister’s heart by sleeping with her man? You disgust me!” “Do not speak to your sister that way, Amaya!” her father said in a loud tone. “Are you still going to defend her? She slept with my man, Dad!” Amaya was growing more frustrated by the minute. “Your sister did no wrong, and she met him before you. If she wants him back, she can have him. You have no say in that!” “This is ridiculous, Dad! I can’t stay here and listen to you anymore!” Amaya picked up her car keys and phone as she stormed out of the house. Leaving their annoying voices behind, she reflected on how her father had always supported her older sister since childhood and never saw any wrong in whatever she did. It hurt her every single moment, feeling like the foster child in the family. Her father would always side with her sister, even though she was the guilty one. But this time, Amaya wasn’t going to tolerate it. Stepping into her car, she drove to the club. It was late at night, but she didn’t care. All she wanted was to put all her problems behind her. Ordering shot after shot, she looked around, wiping away her tears. She downed the last shot before her, paid for her drinks, and ordered another. Holding the shot in her hand, she made her way to the dance floor, moving to the music. Screaming at the top of her voice, even though she didn’t know what the song was about, she suddenly felt a strong figure dancing with her from behind. Not minding, she drank her shot, threw the glass away, and turned around to dance with the stranger. “Hmm, you’re so hot. I wonder how well you’ll handle me in bed!” Amaya said, laughing loudly as they kept dancing for what felt like hours. Before she knew it, Amaya found herself being led away from the dance floor and into a car. The rest was history as the car drove into the dark streets…
