Betrayal
Waking up that morning felt strange for Amaya as she kept rolling in bed, with no desire to get up or do anything that day. But the annoying voice of her sister couldn’t wait any longer to taunt her, as she heard her eldest sister call from the end of the hall.
“Amaya, oh, you better be up by the time I get there!!” This made Amaya roll her eyes at Chloe.
Even though Chloe was older than her, Amaya was more mature.
“Here she comes again!” Amaya murmured to herself as she rolled over, turning her back to the door so her sister wouldn’t notice she was already awake.
The door clicked open without warning.
“Amaya, you better wake up right now! I can’t find my blue dinner gown. Did you take it?” Chloe demanded, standing with her legs apart, her hands firmly on her waist, eyes flashing with anger, her fringe complementing her beautiful face.
Chloe looked older than Amaya, but Amaya appeared more mature, which was why she got more male attention than her elder sister.
“Are you just going to lie there and not respond? Come on, wake up!” Chloe said, dragging the duvet off Amaya’s body. Amaya couldn’t hold back anymore as she flung herself out of bed to face her sister.
“Are you really going to start this early in the morning? I just wonder how you feel after every tantrum!!” Amaya screamed at the top of her voice. Chloe, hearing this, rolled her eyes and shrugged nonchalantly.
“Where is my dress?” Chloe asked immediately.
“I don’t have your dress, Chloe. Why would you think I took it?”
“Because you’re used to stealing everything from me—the men, the spotlight, the body!” Chloe shot back.
“Oh, please, Chloe. I didn’t steal anything from you. Go find somewhere else to look for your dress; we don’t even wear the same size!”
“Damn you, Amaya. I’m going to tell Dad you stole my dress, and that’s final!”
“Wait, are you serious right now? I just told you I don’t have your dress. Why would you do that?” But Chloe wasn’t listening as she walked out, leaving her sister in disbelief.
Amaya gave up trying to save face with her dad, knowing he would side with Chloe regardless. Her day started far too early as she glanced at the mirror across the room. “Oh no, now I have to get out of bed!”
Lying back down and covering herself for a few seconds, she eventually got up to take a bath. She picked out a simple blue dress, though she knew wearing blue was a mistake after everything with Chloe.
“Good morning, Miss Amaya!” came the voices of the maids. They were always happier to see her than Chloe. Amaya smiled and responded to their greetings as she made her way to the dining hall.
All she heard next was, “You see, Dad? I told you she stole my dress!” Chloe said, clinging to their father.
Amaya rolled her eyes at her sister as she walked in. “Why would you steal your sister’s dress?”
“Come on, Dad, I didn’t think you’d believe her. Even though I know you’ll support her,” Amaya said, clearly upset.
Her father, obviously irritated, replied, “And what are you trying to say? Do you think you acted right by taking her dress?”
“Dad, we don’t even wear the same size! And you bought me this dress when I turned twenty—did you forget?”
“Dad, she’s lying!” Chloe claimed, leaving Amaya more confused. Looking at her father, she saw him staring at her with disgust.
“You know what? I’m out of here!” Amaya said, going back to her room to grab her bag, phone, and car keys before heading out.
“And where do you think you’re going, young lady?” her father called, but she was already outside.
“Anywhere but here!” she shouted, stepping into her car and driving off. She had an early morning spa appointment and planned to see her fiancé afterward. He had proposed a few weeks back, and she couldn’t stop thinking about it.
The drive to the spa was short. After parking her car, she headed inside, where the experience was exquisite. The attendants took great care of her facial treatment, and she almost moaned from the soft touch. After two hours , Anaya stepped out of the spa
Headed to her car, she opened it carefully , feeling like a new baby, she sat inside her car to call Edward
But the phone just kept ringing with no response , she tried again , but was still the same . “I guess I’ll just go to his place. If he’s home, I’ll wait!” Amaya said, beaming like a girl in love.
As she drove to his place, her stomach growled, reminding her she hadn’t had breakfast because of the incident with her sister and dad. After stopping at a restaurant for a quick bite, the food there was amazing. She had never regretted having this restaurant as one of her best, it never disappointed her. She continued on to Edward’s house.
The place was quiet when she arrived. His security guard greeted her but kept to himself as she entered his large home.
“ Good day ma’am !!”
“ Hello !” Amaya responded but the air felt quite different today, not knowing what the cause was, she headed inside ..
“Edward!” she called out, thinking he might be home. She walked into the kitchen to grab a quick glass of water before heading toward his room.
“Edward!” She called again, but there was no response. Raising an eyebrow, she casually opened the door to his room. What she saw broke her into pieces.
Her sister , moaning as she kept kissing , her husband to be, in the bed that was supposed to be the matrimonial bed in a few months to come ..
Edward groaned along, appearing to like what they were doing , this broke her into piece as she couldn’t hold back anymore as tears fell down her eyes ..
“Chloe!!!” Amaya screamed before blacking out suddenly.
