Break

I was shown to my bedroom, my clothes had been moved in and neatly arranged in the walk-in closet, everything was neatly organized, which was actually the highlight of my crazy day and the best thing that happened to keep today was the long shower I took, I don't know how many hours I spent there, but a maid was waiting in my room when I came out. “Sorry to intrude” She apologized when the moment I came out. I didn't realize I was raising an eyebrow till she explained why she was in my room. “I let myself in after knocking several times. The young master wants you to come down for dinner” I shook my head in disapproval, but she had her head bowed as she gripped the tip of the apron around her waist tightly. “No! Tell him I am too tired and would like to skip dinner tonight. I want to sleep, I'm too stressed to worry about food” I waved her off with my hand and moved my vanity to apply my night skincare routine. I was shocked to see her through the mirror still standing on the same spot. She didn't move an inch. “Didn't you hear me?” I furrowed my brows at her. “I'm sorry, Mrs Bertarelli, but I don't know what to tell him”. My frown deepened at her words. Is she joking with me? “What do you mean you don't know what to tell him? Tell him exactly what I said to you. That I'll skip dinner and head to bed”, my voice sharper than I had intended, she scurried out of the room as soon as I said that. Not after chanting “Yes ma'am” and bowing again. "What's wrong with her?” I asked nobody but myself. I feel bad for raising my voice at her. But she was pissing me off by standing there and asking me what she should tell him. My mood was sour, and she was adding to it. Promise to apologize to her when I see her, then I realized I didn't even get to see what she looked like. She didn't even raise her head once all through our conversation. As soon as I laid down on the bed, I was shocked at how soft the mattress was and how fluffy the pillows were. I knew for a fact it was going to be a good night's rest. And it was! I needed no one to tell me how I looked because it's been a while I had a good sleep like this one. My reflection chuckled back at me in the mirror. My hair was disheveled and dried drowl on the side of my face. I don't know what the time is, but it's past breakfast, which is strange because I hate missing breakfast, and I'm still shocked by how comfortably I slept in a new environment. I could have sworn I had been drugged if I had taken anything last night. I was knocked out. I looked around the room, soaking it in. It looks better in the daylight than last night. The four corners of the bedpost were designed in beautiful blue cotton that has butterflies designed on them, the blue paintings on the walls compliment the white ceilings. I climbed out of my bed, trailing my hands along the wall to the bathroom. I dipped myself into the bathtub, the water all over my body, including my head. I only come up to breath when need be. I took my time soaking myself and scrubbing my body as if to wash away everything in my head out into the water. Nothing lasts forever, which included my time alone in the bath. I stepped out of the room as soon as I finished dressing. Starving is an understatement. My stomach grumbled at each step I took down the stairs. I don't want to see anybody downstairs. By anybody, I mean Nathan or Ethan. I didn't meet anyone as I wandered around to find the kitchen. It was noon already, and I wondered why there's no maid around here, even in the kitchen. Without hesitation, I find my way around the kitchen to fix myself some late breakfast. I opened the cabinet in a not-so-quiet way as I grabbed everything and anything I could find. Anything that can make me something fast to eat. Bread, Eggs Milk Butter This is the fastest meal to be made! Ever! I smiled at the toasted bread, scrambled eggs and a glass of juice on the counter as I moved one of the chairs closer. I closed my eyes after the first bite. “Damn Amaya! You cook so well!” I said, complimenting myself with a mouth full of food. “No doubt you're a good cook. I can't believe the smell pushed me out of my room” He boomed behind me. I pushed my chair back in shock… Almost jumping off. “Oh, I didn't mean to scare you. I am sorry” he said with a big smile on his face. “You f*****g scared me! Don't you sneak up on me like that again”, I flared, with my hand on my chest. My eyes shot daggers at him. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to” the smile on his face had disappeared. His voice is softer and more gentle than anything I've heard from a man. The complete opposite of what Ethan sounds like. Ethan sounds so manly unlike… . Wait! Why am I comparing? I massaged my temple gently, his soft voice calming me gently and annoying me at the same time. I stared back at him, sitting in his wheelchair. Picking his finger and staring down at his lap like a child that just got scolded. “I'm sorry I raised my voice at you. I was just scared because I didn't find anyone around the house when I got down.” “No problem”. He responded with a smile “All the servants in the house are on break, so it's just the two of us at home. And I think it's a good opportunity to… “ I cut him off right there. “What do you mean? The maids are on break? All of them?! Why? How?”
