The Alpha’s Faery

Hazel “Are you sure that you want to go to this party?” Mel my best friend asked me looking at me dubious “yes I want to go!” I had my heart set on trying to get Austin to notice me, I put the dress I wanted to wear up to myself it was sky blue off the shoulder and I loved it “but there will be so many wolves and you know how my family feel about them if they find out I went they are going to go mad!” Mel was biting her nail absentmindedly , “I know but they wont find out and its not like we go all the time half the village is going to be there, no one is going to point you out specifically we will be fine and its going to be great! Austin is going to realise how amazing I am and I’m sure that we can find you someone to spend the evening with” Giving her a cheeky wink, I turned around admiring my dress again in the mirror "I know but it still puts me on edge" Mel was looking at her own outfit “come on its going to be fun!” I nudged her grinning Mel laughed and went into the bathroom to take a shower while I pottered about the bedroom. We faeries lived within the wolves territory, wolves would offer us protection in their lands because while most fairies had magic not all were powerful so keeping in with strong battle hard wolves was a good alliance, we helped them in anyway that we could and the Alpha always kept the Queen of faeries in the loop with anything going on, faeries could change from being small to normal human sized which made us good for following people or sneaking into small spaces, usually we stayed in our larger form though as it made it easier for normal daily life, tonight there was to be a huge party in the pack house it was mostly so the single wolves could try and find their mates, when a wolf came of age they would find there forever mate who they would spend the rest of their lives with well they did most of the time not always, I sighed leaning my chin on my hand looking out of my bedroom window, I wished that faeries got forever mates I was a hopeless romantic and the notion that there could be my soul mate out there somewhere made my heart melt, but faeries don’t get mates that is only wolves, faeries were free to meet their own partners and most did and lived happily ever after, sometimes faeries were married off to other glades around the area to meet and make alliances with others in the lands, I was hoping my parents wouldn’t want to do that too me as I was so obsessed with Austin he was just perfection to me gorgeous, funny smart, powerful he had it all but he had never noticed me before that’s why tonight I need to look amazing to try and catch his eye. When Mel and I where finally dressed, makeup and hair done looking at ourselves in the mirror “yes that will do” I said laughing “if he doesn’t notice you tonight he’s mad” I looked at Mel she always looked amazing she had copper coloured long wavy hair down her back, fair but flawless skin with cute freckles that popped up in the summer, I had brown hair that I had curled tonight it was long but nowhere near as long as Mel’s I had pale skin no cute freckles but my piercing blue eyes were my favourite feature, I loved getting dressed up and going out with my best friend Mel, I had lots of friends around the village but I always gravitated towards Mel, "mum we are leaving now" I shouted on our way down the stairs, my petite mum popped her head out of the living room door, “do you want me to take you?" she asked I gave her an exasperated look “mum we will be fine I promise” I gave her a hug she never liked us going out alone “ok you just know I worry" she cupped my face "you both look beautiful!" she stood back to get a good look of us "ok mum see you later don’t wait up!" I shouted as we walked out the door before she could change her mind about letting us walk alone and sending my brother to keep an eye out for us which I was sure she already had done, he was a royal guard and was usually on duty patrolling the perimeter of the village but Joe was awesome he would let us go alone and just keep an eye out, me and Mel made our way to the wolf pack house where the party was being held we walked arm in arm chatting and laughing excited for our night out. We could hear the music blaring before we could even see the pack house, I had forgotten how big the house was I hadn’t been here in years and even then I only walked past this was the first time that we had been invited in and I was so excited to see inside the wolves had always intrigued me, the huge doors at the front were guarded by two large male wolves they had muscles bulging under their t-shirts “hi we are here for the party!” I told them excitedly they didn’t say a word they just let us through me and Mel giggled at each other as we walked through the blue hallway there was plush sofas dotted about on the one wall and the other side was just a row of doors I wanted to go and see what was in them all but I wouldn’t, we followed the sound of the music to the end of the hallway there where double doors wide open showing the party going on inside, flashing lights dazed us as we looked upon the scene of everyone on the dance floor, I had never been somewhere so busy before I couldn’t wait to get in there and mingle with everyone, there was a DJ on a stage at the back of the hall and a bar down one wall which looked really busy, I was scanning the room for Austin I needed to see him to get to know him this was the perfect time and place for it we could be ourselves outside of the watching eyes around the village “Hazel its abit overwhelming in here could we go somewhere abit quieter for now” Mel looked flushed and panicked “yes of course I’ll just grab our drinks” I quickly ordered some and motioned for Mel to leave the busy bustling hall we went back into the hallway and noticed an open room with sofas and tables dotted about there where a few others in there having a chat wanting some peace from the music also, we got a table at the back and sipped on our drinks “sorry Haze I just needed a minute” “don’t be sorry its fine!” I told her shaking my head at her she calmed down abit and we started talking and laughing we didn’t notice when someone came and stood beside us we both looked up at a handsome guy stood over us “well two beautiful ladies alone may I join you?” he asked only looking at Mel she blushed “of course” I said to him he sat down not taking his eyes off Mel “so you girls having a good night I’m Luca by the way” he was still looking at Mel “yes thanks are you? Im Hazel and this is Mel” I told him he finally tore his eyes from Mel to look at me “yes thanks, you are a beauty aren’t you Hazel I have a friend who needs to meet you” he eyed me up and down before he turned to shout his friend over “Damien where’s Tristan?” he asked the guy who must have been Damien came over to us he was huge much bigger than the wolves at the door and Lucas “Damien has a mate he’s no fun anymore” he told us with a cheeky grin on his face Damien rolled his eyes at him “Damien meet Hazel and Mel” when he said Mel’s name a look came over his face like he was tasting her name rolling it around in his mouth he liked her so instantly it was strange well not that strange she was drop dead gorgeous, Damien grunted then he turned around to speak to someone who came into my view better and my mouth dropped he was gorgeous, his handsome features where looking at me in a strange way his eyes where on mine and I started to feel hot and flushed under his gaze, who was this handsome stranger and why was I feeling like this when all he had done was look at me.
