Chapter Eight

Hazel 

My eyes shot open at Tristan's words I pulled my hands away from his "you're the Alpha” I spluttered Tristan was looking around worried "let me pay the bill and we will go back to the car to talk about this” he muttered quietly I sat at the table stunned my world swirling around me he's the Alpha! If he was the Alpha and I was his mate that meant I was supposed to be his Luna! I couldn’t be Luna they wouldn’t accept it no one would, everyone would hate me I didn’t even have my full powers so I defiantly wouldn’t get any respect oh how I wished I had stayed home last night. Tristan came back to be looking worried “come on let's go” we hurried back to the car I was in shock trying to process everything Tristan had told me "are you ok" he asked looking extremely nervous now "yeah it’s just a lot to take in” I smiled weakly “are you going to reject me?" I swallowed hard closing my eyes not really wanting to know the answer I felt his hand cup my face I looked up into those brown eyes “never" he whispered I gulped and my stomach flipped "ok” I managed to get out I didn’t know if I could reject him I have barely any powers and I'm sure the Alpha bond was really strong Tristan sighed heavily “I want to be with you Hazel I knew you were the one the moment I smelled your scent, but if it's all too much for you I understand” he looked sombre I could tell this was weighing heavily on him I thought for a moment “I don't feel the bond like you do but what I do feel is quite strong so I’m only guessing what you feel for me is 10xs stronger, I would like to see how this pans out, I do really like you Tristan when I never thought that I would like a wolf, I bet you never thought you would be with a fairy especially a weak one but here we are if you are willing to try then so am I, I'm pretty sure it's not going to be easy and things will change but for now I would really like to get to know you better, I just need time to sort my head out and then it will be sorting my father out” I groaned "I would like nothing more in this world than to be with you Hazel, I have already spoken to my mother I am Alpha so what I say goes but pacifying the other Alphas won't be easy, we will need to wait awhile, but I need you to know that we will have to live in the pack house you are my mate but I am also Alpha bound to protecting my pack and my lands including your village and family” he looked nervous again but I liked that he was straightforward with me “I know love concurs all does it not" I smiled" I hope so Hazel I really hope so" the look on his face was too much for me I didn’t care that we were sat in a busy car park in the human village I pulled myself over to sit on his lap I lay my head on his broad strong chest the rhythm of his heart beat in my ears calmed my raging nerves it would be ok it had to be I had a mate someone to love me forever. 

Tristan 

Me and my wolf had never felt so relaxed and at peace as when Hazel was in my arms she was already making me feel things I didn’t know existed there was no way I could ever give up on her, we stayed in the embrace for a while until my phone started going mad in my pocket I took it out it was my beta Damien “Alpha we have a problem" he announced soon as I put the phone to my ear "what" I barked at him "rogues have infiltrated into the lands and are heading to the glade Hazels glade I'm on my way there now and have sent warriors to try and chase them off” Damien affirmed, Hazel had heard the conversation as we were sitting so close she looked at me her eyes wide with terror "I'll be 15 minutes" I assured Damien putting the phone down I started the car as Hazel slid over to her seat and I raced straight to her village why where rogues heading there? I didn’t know but when I caught one of them I would soon find out. When we arrived at the village all seemed quiet Hazel threw open the car door and ran down the path that lead to the village square there was no one around, everything was eerily quiet, Hazel stopped for a moment before racing to her cottage we just turned the corner when we saw them, half a dozen rogues had Mel by the throat holding her up against a building Hazel stood and looked on in horror, Lucas was stood the other side with Damien and the other warriors it was a stale mate Mel caught sight of Hazel and mouthed her to get out of sight Hazel just stood rooted to the spot the thought of leaving her friend not entering her mind, until I pushed her behind me out of view, Damien came over and I ordered him to take her round the houses to be safe I didn’t trust her with anyone other than me or Damien at the moment “what is going on here" I roared the rogues stopped looking at Lucas and turned to me "we are looking for the fairy called Hazel this one is refusing to say where she is so if she doesn’t start talking soon I shall silence her forever” the rogue sneered I stood tall "you will let her go immediately" I bellowed at them in my alpha tone, Mel was squirming trying to get from his grasp but not having much luck. “Let her go before I make you" My voice firm unwavering Lucas had disappeared with a few others around the back of the houses to try and catch the rogues off guard, I kept them talking distracted until they were ready, I could hear Hazel arguing with Damien behind me I knew she would want to come and help her friend but they would do much worse to her, I caught sight of Lucas he was ready to attack from behind, him and the other few warriors jumped on the rouges and a fight broke out I b-lined straight for the one holding Mel she was already doing a good job she had bitten his hand when he got distracted by Lucas, I ran over and started tearing into him, I didn’t want him dead though he needed questioning when me and the warriors had won the fight I had the beaten rogues taken to the pack house for questioning, I had shifted into Cole so I went behind some trees to shift back putting on my shorts I saw all the faeries rush out to make sure that Mel was ok I’m guessing her mother was wailing when she saw the cuts on Mel but she wasn’t badly hurt, they sent her off to the medics they would patch her up in no time, I rushed to try and find Hazel Damien was still keeping her behind the trees she was stood looking very angry "Damien its ok you can go now” I told him “yes Alpha” he nodded glad to be realised from guarding Hazel, “what was that about!” Hazel demanded she was furious her face had turned pink, “l don’t know, I will question them, but for now I will set up a round the clock guard around the village to keep you and everyone safe” I told her moving close to her holding her head in my hands knowing our closeness would calm her she closed her eyes at my touch “I was so scared for you” I whispered in her ear “I was scared for you and for Mel she must have been so frightened” she whispered biting her lip “she’s ok I made sure of that” I reassured her, we embraced for while afterwards calming and comforting each other, until there was a load buzzing coming closer Hazel quickly stood back from me I was perplexed at her actions until the buzzing sound came right to us and a man shifted from tiny to large he had to be a fairy and from the scowl on his face when he looked at me I knew he wasn’t in a good mood.
