Chapter Seven

Hazel 

I sat stunned at Mel’s words “no I can’t be I’m a fairy and he’s a wolf" I scoffed brushing it off do you think Isaac is your mate?" I asked her "I hope so" she sighed dreamily “why are you against it anyway you are the most romantic person I know you wish on the stars for there to be someone how loves you enterally" Mel giggled “hey that was one time and you weren’t supposed to mention it ever again!” I shouted swatting her what if he was my mate that would explain the way I was feeling towards him just then my phone went off in my pocket “its him! He's text me" I whispered to Mel “what did he say!” she asked excitedly “ok it says, hey beautiful want to hang out later?” I felt butterflies in my stomach at the thought of seeing him again" "what shall I say back?" I asked Mel “well do you want to see him again?” “well yeah" I smiled “well you know what to say then” she had a smug look on her face “ok” and I replied to Tristan's message “yeah would be nice to hang out ” I smiled to myself and almost instantly he replied “sounds great ill meet you where we found Mel's sister last night around 4?” I grinned "ok" see you later” I had a little scream inside. Me and Mel left the café and decided it was a beautiful day so we would go for a walk we walked around the village and ended up in the forest we sat in our usual spot on a branch that hung down like a seat pixies often came out to us here it only ever happened at dusk though they were amazing little creatures we often found ourselves hanging around trying to see them, Mel looked at the time “best get back so you can get changed and ill curl your hair ready for seeing Tristan" Mel stood up looing excided she hadn't heard from Lucas but she wasn’t disheartened yet he had told her that he was busy most of today, we walked back arm in arm giggling and laughing together when we bumped into Austin he smiled and walked over to us “hi ladies off anywhere nice” his eyes glowed “I'm not but Haze is” Mel told him giggling "oh are you?” he asked me quizzically "yeah just meeting someone you up too much?" I asked quickly changing the subject my dad would flip if he found out I was meeting a wolf it wasn’t he didn't like them it just wasn’t heard of for a wolf and a fairy to be together, “no not really, fancy hanging out?” he asked me “oh um like Mel said I'm meeting someone soon” I told him biting my lip this time last week I would of melted at Austin asking me to hang out “aww come on let's just go for a ice cream” he begged us I looked at the time it was 2.40pm I had over an hour I suppose I felt bad after leaving Austin for Tristan last night “oh ok a quick one" I said smiling Mel glared at me “you will be late" she mouthed "no I won't, I'll make sure I meet him on time I just won't have as much time to get ready but that’s ok I don’t take long” I told her "ok then” she said with a raised eyebrow so off we went into the village to the ice cream stand, after we got our ice creams we sat on a bench at the edge of the woods, we sat in easy silence eating our ice creams “so Hazel who was that guy that was obsessed with you last night?” Austin asked curiously "oh that was Tristan" i replied mouth full of chocolate chip "oh he seemed quiet keen on you, you know He's a wolf yeah?" he asked me "yeah I knew" I told him with a smile licking my ice cream Mel had gone to go and get a napkin she had dribbled ice cream down herself while she was gone Austin turned to me moving incredibly close he surprised me “Hazel, you know i really like you don't you" he whispered to me, I was taken aback “no" I exclaimed louder than I meant to "oh well I do I’ve had my eye on you awhile but you always seemed so shy around me so I didn’t want to push you, but seeing you with him last night well I was jealous” Austin looked at me softly whilst brushing a finger gently down my face, I didn't know what to do I had wanted Austin for so long, I had watched him from afar for months maybe even a year but now it was finally happening I felt bad i felt like i was doing wrong by Tristan "oh I didn't realise" I told him awkwardly “I wish you had told me before" I looked up into his emerald eyes, Austin was from a line of earth fairies they had the power to be one with mother nature and often where called upon to her bidding like making it rain in a draught or coming together to fix a broken tree, they were known to have great power Austin already had his wings so you knew that he was defiantly one of mother earths chosen ones, he would do great things one day probably would move far from the little village that we grew up in, but even with this gorgeous guy who I had a crush on for ages it felt wrong to even be sat alone with him let alone even be thinking about going out with him “Austin, I erm don't know what to say" I stammered "think about it, I’ve got your number ill message you” Austin smiled charmingly at me, once that smile would knock me it did slightly now I felt a pang of longing for a simple life now that Austin actually like me but I knew I had to meet Tristan tonight and id see how it went with him, I was going to ask him if I was his mate I needed to know but even then could we be together? Just then Mel walked up to us "Hazel its nearly 4" she shouted at me, she never really liked Austin she thought he was full of himself so she was happy I was finally off him “oh right ok id better go” I said standing up I said goodbye to Austin a lingering look between us told me he wanted me to stay but Mel stayed with him for now while I walked off to meet Tristan at our meeting spot I turned the corner and my face instantly lit up my stomach a buzz with nervous butterflies Tristan was stood there with a bunch of flowers he must of picked on his way here he smiled shyly as I approached him "hey" "hey" I replied he looked nervous, "these are for you" he said holding out the flowers "thankyou they are beautiful" I told him admiring them "I thought we could go into town and get something to eat” he asked I was slightly confused “but the town is a few miles away it will take forever to walk there” I questioned him he rubbed his hand on the back of his neck I’ve got my car but if you don’t want to get in with me I understand" he said looking worried I hadn’t been in many cars but I did love a car ride and I loved the human town it fascinated me “yeah ok" I grinned excited our territory was kept well out the way fields and fields separated us from the humans they just thought it was a farm down here and that is what kept us secret and safe I wouldn't be able to go once I had gained my wings though as they weren't so easy to hide, Tristan smiled and lead me up the path to the road where his car was waiting for us I hoped in giddy I loved being around Tristan he made my heart sore just by looking at me. When we arrived in the town I just stared out the window it was so busy people everywhere they intrigued me how did they cope with no powers we pulled up in a carpark and Tristan got out to open my door for me, we walked along the busy streets to a restaurant Tristan was nothing but kind and gentle with me the whole time I was really enjoying myself and enjoying being in his company but what Mel said earlier was still niggling at me and I needed to ask him, "Tristan can I ask you something?" "anything" he said brushing my hair behind my ear the feel of his skin touching mine sent shivers down my body “erm well, I don't know but I feel a great pull towards you I don’t know why I’ve never felt like this before I feel like I need to be near you, not that I'm saying it's a bad thing but I mentioned it to Mel and she thinks that I could be your mate?" I asked delicately not wanting to upset him, he looked down at his hands “yes you are my mate my wolf told me last night soon as I set eyes on you" he was watching me closely trying to gauge my reaction “oh ok so where you going to tell me” slightly annoyed at him for not telling me last night it would explain the way that I had been feeling "of course I was going to tell you I just didn't want to rush you or make you think you had to see me I wanted it to be what you wanted, I didn’t realise that you would feel the bond” he grasped my hands that where laying on the table I smiled he really was amazing he was thinking only of me “ok I get that I didn't realise I would be able to feel anything especially without my powers” I smiled up at him he was grinning broadly, I looked into his eyes when it suddenly hit me I was a wolf’s mate I started breathing heavily shaking my head "but you're a wolf, how can we be together everyone will hate us, your Alpha what will he say he will forbid it like my father who is an elder!” I shouted exasperated holding my head in my hands "my Alpha will be fine with it" he said softly lifting my chin "how can you be sure" I asked worried he might banish me from the village from my family my friends what would I do then! Tristan lent across the table and planted a light kiss on my lip's warmth rushed through my body at our connection “I am the Alpha of the Eclipse pack"
