Chapter Six

Hazel 

The next morning I woke up early, I showered and got ready to go and meet Mel I was dying to find out what had happened with her and Lucas I hadn’t been able to get Tristan out of my head all night and I needed a distraction, I ran downstairs my mum and dad where in the kitchen having coffee, “coffee sweetie?" my mum asked me smiling "no thanks I'm meeting Mel in a minute” I told to her going into the kitchen to grab my shoes “you have a good night?” my mum asked "yeah it was good" I smiled to her “good, so who was the guy who walked you home?” she had a smirk on her face my dad's head shot up to look at me “oh that was Tristan he was just someone I met he was really nice” I smiled "ok sweetie have fun with Mel” she called as I left the room heading out I could hear my dad ask “who walked her back?” I giggled to myself my mum was so nosey I should have known she would be waiting up for me, I rushed out the door and headed towards the café to meet Mel. Everyone in our little village knew everyone it was only a small village so neighbours and people walking past would either say hello to me or nod I was known as Jude's girl to most of them but I was always polite and waved back, I got to the café but Mel wasn't here yet I had text her asking how long she would be and she replied just round the corner I sat and looked out of the window while waiting for my friend my mind wandering to Tristan at the castle last night I felt shivers down my body as I recalled our delicate kiss under the stars "hey!" Mel announced her arrival sitting down shaking me from my thoughts "hey!" I exclaimed excitedly to her "I'm starving let's order some food and coffees then you need to tell me everything!” I told her, when the food was on the way and we each had a steaming cup of coffee to hand I started my questioning “so tell me" I asked wiggling my eyebrows at her “ok, so it all happened when you went off with prince charming, we went for a walk round the gardens and he was just so easy to talk to, he was a gentleman and asked me to dance, while we were dancing we just connected and ended up kissing on the dance floor" Mel blushed and we both giggled “why did you seem upset when I came back though?” I asked her “oh that well Lucas tried to take things a little too fast for me and some girl came over to us having a go saying he was her boyfriend and I was like whoa I'm not getting involved with this but Lucas had a go back at her and apparently she's just obsessed with him, he's one of the Alphas advisors you know” Mel told me looking happy "oh that’s high ranking isn’t it, you go girl!” we both fell about laughing “so tell me about prince charming” Mel asked taking a sip of her drink, “well he came on a little strong to start with so it put me off a bit, I shrugged Austin finally noticed me because of him but I just don’t feel the same towards him now all I can think about is Tristan it's so strange I've wanted Austin to notice me for so long but soon as I met Tristan it was like a switch was flicked on in my mind and all I can see and think about is him” Mel looked shocked “really! You can't be telling me that you aren’t obsessed with Austin anymore?” I looked down playing with the handle on my coffee cup “I know it's so strange I wanted to talk to you about its last night but then Tristan took me up to the old castle ruins and it was so romantic I kissed him” I smiled to myself “oh Hazel I can't believe this, you have it bad for Tristan!” “I know I was so confused last night it blew my mind a bit I felt this huge pull towards him and I couldn’t tell you why I just couldn’t be away from him then all last night he was all I could think about even dream about! I can't believe I have just pushed my feelings aside for Austin so quickly” I shrugged my shoulders Mel was looking thoughtful her eyes met mine "omg, Haze u reckon you are his mate?!" Tristan Me and Lucas where in training with Damien and a few other warriors I was putting all my frustrations into kicking the hell out of the punch bag I finally stopped and lent against the bag to catch my breath, Damien came up behind me and clapped me on the shoulder “what's up man, you’ve been weird since the dance last night” Damien asked me, suppose I better tell Damien he is my beta “well Damien that girl I that was talking to last night when I saw her my wolf Cole told me that she's my mate” I sighed "oh man, isn't she a fairy, does she know?” he looked sorry for me "no I didn't tell her, I don’t know what she might have felt or will ever feel, I don't know what to do" I growled punching the bag frustrated at the situation I had found myself in "I think you need some time to think about it as this needs sorting out soon, if you can’t reject her then she needs to know or you need to reject her and so you can both get on with your lives” Damien told me his beta head on looking thoughtful “speak to your mother she will be able to help” “I know I'll go and speak to her” I sighed dreading this "ok man, good luck” Damien told me clapping me on the shoulder, I went and showered then mind linked my mum to meet me in my office in ten minutes, I made my up to my office I barely opened the door when my mother rushed over to me “she's your mate isn't she, where is she, who is she!" she squealed with excitement "mum please" I told her exasperated wanting this over "sit down please" I said nodding to the chair next to mine taking a seat myself my mother took a seat on the chair hardly able to sit still I then started to tell her everything unsure of how she was going to take the news "Hazel the girl from last night, yes I felt the mate bond” my mum was bursting to say something but I held my hand up to stop her from speaking "she's also a faery" I closed my eyes hating this, when I opened them my mum was just looking at me shocked “oh darling” was all she could say her “is she from the village?” “ yeah, I walked her back last night she's Dean's daughter” I sighed I had found out that Hazel was Dean's daughter who was an elder fairy we all had elders who up held the laws and peace of the magical realms “oh” my mother sighed knowing that this wasn’t good “I can't reject her” I whispered “I know sweetheart, what does Hazel know?” my mother asked leaning towards me “she doesn’t know she's my mate she didn’t have her wings so her powers wont have been strong enough to tell her and she doesn’t know I'm the Alpha” I told my mother she sat thoughtful for a few moments “you have to reject her, they won't allow it” my mother whimpered "I can't mother" I shouted standing up there was no way I could it would break me and if it was true about the alpha bond it might well hurt Hazel and I just couldn’t have that " ok son I won't say anything for now, who else knows?” she asked "only you, Lucas and Damien" I told her "ok let's keep it between us for now, the girl doesn't feel the bond so she won't need to know unless you want to tell her but if you do make sure she keeps it to herself, if you keep seeing her you can see for yourself if you want to be together she may or may not fall in love with you on her own I'm sure she will feel some sort of bond with you she still is a magical creature, some of the other Alphas from the other packs will not be best impressed with this news a fairy isn’t a wolf and in a lot of wolves eyes cannot be a true Luna but if you want her and she wants you then nothing should stand in your way” I gazed adoringly at my mum, when she and my father first found each other their love was renowned across the kingdoms for how powerful it was my mother's cry had once awoken my father from near death on the battle field I wonder if my little fairy would be the same for me, “ok I will try with her see what happens but for now no one knows I have found my mate” I said sternly glaring at my mother she smiled weakly she got up and came over hugged me and gave me a kiss on the forehead “I'm so proud of you my son” then she left the room leaving me to think, I pulled out my phone and opened a new text message to Hazel, here goes let's try and get to know my little faery.
