What… what on earth are you doing here?’ More heat infused Elizabeth’s cheeks as she sat upright, holding her open blouse together. ‘I came to check on you,’ he retorted, ‘and it looks like I arrived just in time.’ There ensued an uncomfortable silence. Gary hoisted himself to his feet and stuck his hand out towards Harry. ‘This is Gary,’ Elizabeth gabbled, ‘my, er… friend.’ Harry regarded Gary with suspicious eyes and pointedly ignored his attempt at a greeting. ‘I think this is my cue to leave,’ Gary said drily. ‘Lizzie, it’s been a blast, I’ll text you.’ Harry scowled as he stepped aside to let Gary pass. ‘Bye.’ Elizabeth called feebly.
