‘Just what the f**k were you thinking?’ Kyle did not recognise the room around him. The curtains were purple and tied open with a gold rope. In the centre of the room, there was a coffee table with two steaming mugs. One of them was cracked down the middle in the shape of a lightning bolt. The other had drips of stained coffee falling down the side like teardrops. The TV was on but there was no sound. As his vision came into focus, he saw people he recognised from passing through his own living room when Lewis and Finn sat drinking or smoking or eating on weekends or when he arrived home from work.
