Kyle left work early, but this was not by choice. Waking up with scabs across his palms, he had gotten ready for work slowly. He had walked to work with no urgency. When he arrived, he sat at his desk and stared through the window at the jagged shapes of the skyline for forty-five minutes after he was expected to log on. He worked at a pace that was typically only reserved for those that were hungover or had achieved their targets early this week. He looked around the office and saw faces of strangers; Clyde was absent. He stared at his computer inputting data and analysing changes and started reports on what all of this meant.
