CHAPTER 5

Adrianus arrives at their house as he landed safely and he steps out of his car. He is holding his cell phone to call his father. He calls his father over phone wanting to know if he is busy or not. The phone is ringing of Lord Shiva. His father looks at his phone who is calling. It is his son Adrianus calling him and he picks up the phone.

Hello Dad! How are you? Adrianus asked.

I’m okay son. Is there any problem? Lord Shiva said.

I’m calling you because I got something important to say. Are you busy? Adrianus asked.

No, not at all I’m fine. What is that important thing you want to tell me?

I can’t tell it over phone, Dad. Can you come over at home?

Yes son, but I have to ask permission first to King Aspen. He’s going to find me if I’m not around without his knowledge.

Yes Dad sure thing I would just wait here.

Tell your mother I’m going home later.

Yes Dad I will.

Lord Shiva turns off his phone and arranges his things preparing to go back in his house.

Adrianus upon entering their house he immediately finds his mother

Hi Mom! I’m home where are you? Adrianus asked.

Her mother didn’t hear his voice because she’s in her room. Adrianus keep on looking to her mother. He goes to the kitchen, garden and at their backyard but he couldn’t find her then he goes upstairs to her room knocking the door. That’s the time her mother aware that her son is calling her. She opens the door and kisses his son.

Hi Mom I keep on looking at you downstairs. Good thing you are just here I thought you go somewhere.

Oh I’m sorry son I’m fixing our room of your father I’ve been missing him but we know he is busy at the castle.

Why? He didn’t call you?

He is calling me if he is not busy but there’s a big difference to feel his presence.

I’m about to tell you Mom, Dad told me he’s coming home.

Really son, Oh I’m so happy let’s go to the kitchen we’re going to prepare his favorite dish.

Both of them go downstairs in the kitchen. They are preparing food for the dinner. They have vegetables, fruits and meat in the fridge. They are having conversation about Lord Shiva.

By the way son, what makes your father decide to have a dinner tonight? How did you convince him?

I told him that I have something important to tell and I want it personally. He even said to tell him over the phone but I insist to talk to him in person.

What is that all about son? Do you mind if you share it with me?

Yes sure thing Mom, I want to know your inventions and your affair with Dad?

I could share my inventions but I prefer your Dad will going to tell about our love story.

Why not you Mom?

It feels odd on my part. It is really jovial happiness when I met your father.

Her mother prepares veggies, meat and other ingredients for the dinner with the help of the robots. But her mother prefers that she will be the one to do everything in the kitchen because she doesn’t want to fail especially the taste of the dish that she is cooking.

What about your studies son? How was it?

Yeah, Master Noman gave us project to do that’s why I’m asking you and Dad about inventions.

Your father did a great technology during our younger years like you.

Why Mom?

To tell you honestly he won the competition game in our batch. You should ask your Dad about it he has so many things to share and it means a lot to him. I adore your father in his own inventions but it is much better for him to share it with you. You deserve to know the true story of us.

She smiles to her son and his son smile back. His mother stands while preparing their supper. Adrianus sits at the chair in front of the kitchen while he is observing on how her mother cooks their food.

On the other hand Lord Shiva needs to ask permission to King Aspen.

My majesty I got to ask permission. Lord Shiva said.

King Aspen turn around and said. What is it Shiva?

I would like to ask permission because my son needs me. I’m going to visit them at home.

Yes of course! I’m allowing you to visit your family.

I have to go and thank you my majesty.

Lord Shiva bows his head and walk along towards the exit door. He continues to walk to the parking lot where he parks his flying car. He can choose use the remote so that the car would land right in front of him but instead he choose to walk towards the car. He is starting to fly his car directly to their house.

Adrianus and his mother continue talking to each other.

All right Mom, Can you tell me your first invention on how you successfully shape it?

Leda is the name of her mother while cooking she tries to remember those days on how she created her invention.

Well son reminiscing the past is really challenging to me. First and foremost it wasn’t in my mind to won in the competition game. In my class were geniuses studied just like your father. I don’t even think and didn’t expect I could defeat them but the thing is I was at the 4th runner up in our class when I was in 3rd year level. All I want to happen that time was to submit my project so that I could pass and proceed to last grade year level. From the start I was really eager to finish it. I gather ideas, research and do things that I never tried before you know there’s no harm on trying. I dig deeper and think what I want to design until I shape what exactly in my brain. I invented the underwater boat it can go everywhere under the sea even up to the deepest ocean.

Great Mom! Wow, what a terrific invention!

All of the sudden they heard footsteps heading their way. They are expecting it is Lord Shiva and they are happy seeing him. Leda and Adrianus kiss Shiva on his cheeks.

You don’t inform us that you already here. I am so happy to see you. Leda said.

Thanks Dad you finally here.

I just want to surprise both of you it’s been months we haven’t eat together. You know I was so busy at the castle. King Aspen really needs me the most.

We understand that and my two lovable handsome guys need space to talk to each other after our dinner. Leda said.

Yes of course! I miss you both so much my son and my wife. Lord Shiva said.

All right I’m going to prepare our dinner so that you may have long hours to interact. Adrianus still have class tomorrow.

We could start interacting now Dad if you want to.

Yeah son, we could talk a little while waiting but I guess the food is ready Leda is arranging the dining area.

Leda put everything the food she prepares. You could smell the food and the taste is so delicious. Leda calls them because they are sitting near the kitchen.

Let’s eat together I prepare your favorite dish each one of you.

All of them are sitting at the dining area. You could see through their eyes that they are happy of the food. They seldom talk but most of the time they eat quietly. After an hour Shiva finish first he goes to their living room while waiting for his son. His son accompanies him in the living room. Her mother arranges the dining area with the helpof the robots. Their house is beautiful also because they use advance technology, different design that has been display, curtains are colorful, chandeliers display around the corner of the house and made of glass.

Son, enjoy talking to your Dad.

I will Mom you have nothing to worry about.

Hey Dad! Is it okay to interrupt you?

Oh Son that’s fine I’m here for you. I’m worried about what are you going to say. What is that anyway?

I want you to share your experiences in your younger years. Mom said you have a lot of stories to share.

Shiva looks at him face to face ready to share his experiences.

The car landed in front of their door. They fly towards the quiet place a private property of Lord Shiva. There’s a house and the huge tank beside the house so silent because no one is around. The car is landed in that place they step out and walk throughout the empty house. That house cannot easily obliterate and it cannot be open by the outsider unless the owner wanted to. Since the owner is Lord Shiva the house open automatically with the code using his phone connected to the door of the empty house and they enter the empty house.

What is this place Dad? It seems so scary I couldn’t survive in this haunted place.

This place has been part of my life I treasure it in my entire journey. I frequently visit this place especially in my younger years but now that I’m busy serving the castle my time is not the same anymore. I visit this place for quite sometimes or for like twice a year. I intentionally want this place look like scary so that no one would try to enter this place.

Adrianus looks around the corner of the place but he is curious why his father bring him in the place.

Why did you bring me here Dad?

I would like to unveil this place to you. I’ve spent my whole life here.

Shiva walks through the right corner it is where the code hidden in order to open the underground floor. The floor opens automatically at the center. Adrianus is shock of what he sees. They go downstairs the image is exactly opposite upstairs. The places are so clean and well organize. There are inventions have been display every corner of the basement as you look around. It is huge with the high advance technology. It is way beyond of what he is expecting. He couldn’t say anything but he is still eager to ask his father.

Dad this place is so incredible I couldn’t believe you have this.

His father stop walking but he continues to talk.

This is my resting place especially when I’m under distress. The ambiance of the place is really fabulous it helps you to calm yourself when you are in despair. Your great grandfather gave this to me. I take good care of this in my whole life because this was came from our ancestors. What is that again the important thing that you want to tell me?

It is all about your first invention Dad. How did you come up such ideas? Adrianus asked.

He looks up to his father. His father sighs and takes a deep breath.

Let’s have a sit son while talking you deserve to know the truth but before that you promise me you won’t change your perception about me.

All right son sounds good to hear it from you. I’m ready to share when I was at your age at the 3rd level me, King Aspen and Queen Beringaria were really good friends but King Aspen was my best friend we’ve been through a lot together since we were kids until Queen Beringaria was transferred in our class in the 3rd level. She seated beside me and she has no friends yet so I offered my friendship to her. The first day that we’ve met I knew from myself that I like her then time came that we got along together. I saw her first after King Aspen did notice her. We enjoyed our company together. I sacrificed my time sometimes with King Aspen by the time that I wasn’t with him I was with Queen Beringaria. We watched movies, we flew everywhere, we spent time for each other and we were so perfect. Then time came there was a party at the school before that happened King Aspen was so worried about me he thought I was mad at him. He didn’t knew if I wasn’t with him I spent my whole time with Queen Beringaria. I just smiled and told him that I was totally fine he doesn’t had to worry. I planned to say him at the right time the reason behind why sometimes I don’t get along with him. I thought during the party night the perfect time but I was wrong. Every one of us were formally dress up. I introduced Queen Beringaria to King Aspen. Queen Beringaria was really beautiful all of us that night party was looking at her beauty. Her beauty really stands out. I told everything King Aspen about Queen Beringaria and me. King Aspen didn’t noticedQueen Beringaria at the room but he knew Queen Beringaria was beautiful because of the party King Aspen struck to her beauty and caught his attention. It wasn’t in my mind that King Aspen would really like her at first it was okay then the party was over. King Aspen and I were talking to each other he said he suddenly likes Queen Beringaria to be his friend. Lots of girls would really want to be with King Aspen so I didn’t felt threatened because King Aspen knew that we’ve been dating and I courted her. I was really sure that Queen Beringaria would love me back same thing with the love and care that I gave to her. I was even confident of myself that King Aspen won’t betrayed me in his feelings to Queen Beringaria because I thought he could chose to those girls that wanted to be with him but it turns out opposite. There was a time I invited Queen Beringaria to go to our favorite place. I was expecting she would come and that was the first time she declined my invitation. I understood her because I thought she’s busy with her family and it was repeated to happen again. I don’t want to think negatively but I doubted that there was really going on I wanted to figured it out but every time we were in the classroom was totally smooth, fine and great. I couldn’t sense that King Aspen and Queen Beringaria would have feelings to each other but as time goes on I did noticed that there’s something between them. I invited Queen Beringaria to have a dinner she said she needed to go home early because her family would have party at their house. From that time she declined me I could sense that she was lying. On the other side I invited King Aspen that night also to have a dinner but he refused me. I didn’t force him but I was hoping that my doubt wasn’t right. I followed them right away and I saw them dating likewise holding their hands. I’ve waited outside of the restaurant where they were eating then I followed them again they were walking along the street and they kissed to each other. By that time I don’t know what to do I felt betrayed, my heart was in pain and it really hurt me a lot. I shed tears for the agony and I went back home after I saw them. The next morning I was very quiet because I don’t want to see their faces. King Aspen wondered of my behavior. He was reaching out with me at the classroom and also Queen Beringaria but I didn’t talk to them. The class started Master Pavo the father of your Master Noman. He explained that the classes were going to have a competition game between our inventions of new advance technology it felt an excitement for me I wanted to won the competition though I knew my classmates were geniuses especially King Aspen and Queen Beringaria. . From that moment I did promise that I was going to won the competition game. Master Pavo dismissed our class and I walked straight silently but Queen Beringaria followed me. She was worried what happened to me she wanted to know the truth so I told her that I followed and saw them kissing. I told her how much I love her that I was willing to wean her back. I would do everything for her. She was really crying because she felt sorry for what she had done to me and she kept on apologizing. I didn’t accept it because it was really hard for me I just stared at her with my angry face and left her where she was standing. She covered her face with her two hands because she couldn’t help it but to cried. I told her that I could forgive her if she would come back to me. I walked straight quickly towards the parking lot at the back of the building. I saw King Aspen standing beside my car he was waiting for me. I looked straight to him from a far I knew he would want to talk to me. As I reached the car he told me to talk I was really mad at him he was asking what happened to me. He didn’t realize that I saw them kissing then I decided to talk to him calmly. I abruptly told him that I saw them kissing and I asked why he did that to me. He was speechless but he tried to explain and I listened to his explanations. He also kept on apologizing because he couldn’t control his feelings to fell in love to Queen Beringaria. I told him the moment that he betrayed me it caused so much pain and I asked him. Why of all many girls around the campus that wanted to be with him he chose Queen Beringaria over them knowing that I was with her the whole time?

Adrianus is so sad of what he heard. He interrupts his father while sharing his story.

Dad I feel the agony that you’ve been through.

The story doesn’t end up that way I was desperately wanted to won the competition so I did my very best to be on top. In our class it was a room for geniuses but I was so wise I made a unique strategy when our master announced the competition whoever won the competition game would be the representative for the 4th year level which was the last grade level. I might sound bad person for you if I tell you this son I did this for my own personal reasons. In the classroom King Aspen and Queen Beringaria threatened me of their intelligence. What I did was I kept on spying their creations they didn’t knew about it. The competition was getting near I found out their inventions were better than mine. So I suddenly changed it I was sleepless that time for improving my invention. I work hard on it until I successfully achieved the invention that I want I was the one who invented the advance computer. When the competition game came the panel judges were amazed of my creation knowing that it was my first invention and luckily I won the competition game. I did it to wean back Queen Beringaria I told her I was doing it for her but sadly it doesn’t change the fact that she was already in loved to King Aspen.

To be honest if I was one of the judges and if I didn’t have any ideas about their inventions King Aspen would probably won. Son I was trying to be honest with you the attitude that I have shouldn’t emulate by anyone. Lord Shiva explained.

No Dad I totally understand why you did it if I was in your situation I would probably going to do that but don’t worry Dad I am sure I won’t let it happen to me.

Son that’s good put it in your mind that you wouldn’t do it what I’ve done. It is really unfair I was doing the wrong thing I cheated on them but I cheated the most in myself. I won but it’s not worth it and I learned from it. I did promise to myself that I wouldn’t do that again especially to King Aspen and Queen Beringaria but the situation changed when I met your mother I felt again the best feeling more than that I was with Queen Beringaria. When I saw her I knew she was the one. I invited her to dinner with me she said yes. From then on I courted her every day I also courted her family they have been good to me. That was the time my feelings to Queen Beringaria had already been sated. As days went on I accepted that we’re not meant to be. For me your mother was far greater than Queen Beringaria because she is my wife I would really going to say it. Time came when we were at the right age King Aspen and Queen Beringaria ready to get married. I was also married to your mother. It was happily marriage for us. Our friendship with King Aspen was stronger. We were both matured enough we don’t have secrets to hide. I felt guilty if I don’t share it to King Aspen of what I did with them when we were still studying during competition game. King Aspen said that I deserve to won the competition game even if I’ve done those things to them. I was so clever to think that way. I thought he’s going to be mad at me but I was wrong he told me that I shouldn’t think just because they hurt my feelings doesn’t mean King Aspen wouldn’t be mad at me. He had the right to be mad at me but he chose to praise me that I deserved to won the competition game. Queen Beringaria also was happy to me because I have your mother who’s willing to take good care of me though she’s aware of what I did in our competition. She didn’t even bother to ask about it. She just told me that whatever King Aspen told me about the competition she totally agree with him. Our friendship that we built had been the strongest. King Aspen couldn’t take actions without me because we are like twins. Everything he does I’m always at his side but the decision come from him because he is the ruler of our planet.

That’s really great that you trust each other. You treasure your friendship above all. Dad before I forgot to ask. What is your invention in last grade level? How did you shape it?

Well son I didn’t changed my creation I just reinvented and improvise it to be more powerful. I was the one who invented the talking computer you don’t need a keyboard as some of us using it but there are some choose to use my old invention just like in your school. The computer that you are using at home I have it here I put it in the middle beside of the machines because that was really memorable to me.

Hey son, don’t tell anybody about our love s********e heard the stories but not the whole thing.

Yes Dad don’t worry about it I wouldn’t share it to anybody.

How about Princess Athenusa? Have you seen her at school?

Yes Dad I couldn’t take my eyes to her since I was young that time you brought me at the castle. As you have said to keep an eye on and guard her as what King Aspen commanded all of our kinds in his kingdom. I always follow her in school she even asked why I keep on looking at her. She didn’t know at first I was following her to keep her safe until I told her about my feelings but I didn’t told her that King Aspen commanded us to watch over her all the time. I also find ways to be her classmate I confronted our principal and Master Noman. He allowed me to be part of their class section. He asked about my background and I told him you’re my father. I persuaded Master Noman when he knew you’re my father.

That’s good son for keeping an eye on her. Your feelings to Princess Athenusa make sure it won’t hurt you in the future.King Aspen told me to protect her that’s why I want you to be with her all the time she is very special. Have you seen all over the corner of this place? The technology that I put in the middle is my first invention. I just want to remind because you might forget it.

Yes Dad I see everything in here. I am part of Princess Athenusa’s circle of friends. I’ll take good care of her.

Before anything else you have to be more patient, hardworking and persevere to achieve the invention that you want.

You know what son there are more stories I want to share but I think you’re still young you must need to focus first in your studies. When the right time comes I’ll let you know the origin of our planet. There are things better to keep hidden but I’m going to oppose with that you should discover the truth about the secrets that has been hidden. I’m afraid I see catastrophe in the future. Okay I would wait son and don’t hesitate to ask. There are technologies that you won’t be able to know how to control it just read the instructions in the manual all of them are automatic.

Yes Dad I would take good care of your stuff. After an hour Adrianus wonders because some of the inventions are not familiar with him. Some technology would fly on its own even if you just holding it. He must be careful of what he touches.

You’re too young to think about it son. Try other things not those ammunitions that can cause chaos but you can create that after you finish your studies. Did your Master Noman tell you it is not allowed in your school? Way back before it was allowed to create ammunition but there were some abused it so they decided to stop the making of ammunition but in our batch it was allowed.

Oh yes Dad I forgot about it I’m sorry but as far as I could remember he didn’t speak about ammunition. Adrianus respond while holding the high technology machine that can detect the invisible creature.

Adrianus let’s go it is already late.

They walk towards the door Shiva thinks that his son might win the competition but he is thinking of Princess Athenusa that she is very special. As they walk towards the exit Shiva give the code to Adrianus. Here’s the code son 5656SHIVA. I would want to change it with your name but I’ll leave it to you just read the manual and follow the instructions how to change or you could talk to the robot ask for help.

Yes Dad thank you so much. I would find it on my own. They lock all the doors but it automatically closesexcept to the door that needs the code.

Shiva uses the controller to land his car right in front of them.

I trust you son don’t break it this building means a lot to me if something bad happen to this building it feels like killing myself and part of me would be gone forever.

Yes Dad I put it in my brain everything you’ve said I won’t let that happen and I’m not going to frustrate you.

Inside the car Adrianus still wants to ask. He keeps on asking because they seldom meet.

Hey Dad I’m going to ask again. Why is it you don’t want us to live with you in the castle? Their eyes meet to each other.

I choose to live separately away from you and your mother so that both of you can do anything you want. Unlike if you stay in the castle though there’s nothing wrong but there’s a difference of having your own and at the same time I can focus to serve my whole life in the castle. I don’t want to disturb your everyday life with your mother. Your mother knows about that and she could understand. King Aspen offered us to live in the castle but your mother insisted to have our own house. I stay to live in the castle because I am really devoted with the job that has given to me. The parents of King Aspen convinced me to guide him wherever he goes. When they were still alive they want me to swear that I would never leave King Aspen no matter what happens. From then on I couldn’t decline it because you know they were our highness. It is against the law if you decline the King and Queen.

Okay Dad, now I understand as they are heading to their house.

The car landed in front of their garden beside the parking lot. They step out and walk towards the entrance door. Leda is sitting at the couch watching TV. The door automatically opens when Adrianus and Shiva enter the house. Shiva speaks first to Leda.

Hello my beautiful wife! Good evening. How are you? Did you feel sad for not visiting you? Lord Shiva asked.

Oh come on my sweet husband. I know how important your job it is for you and I totally understand about it. Leda responded. They hug and kiss to each other.

Hey Mom! He kisses her mother too.

Oh hi son! How’s it going talking to your Dad? Did you have had a lot of fun?

Yes Mom I’ve learned a lot of things from Dad. It affects me the most especially his experiences in his childhood days. I’ve gain knowledge from him because he never fails me to expect amazing things from him. It would really help me a lot.

His father looks to his wife and son while they are talking and standing.

I’m not surprise Son your father is sorely marvelous. There’s a lot of fun in him and you’re going to enjoy his company. Are you not going to sit?

No Mom it’s getting late I would go to my room because I still have class tomorrow. I really enjoyed the time I spend with Dad. Thanks for everything you’ve taught me Dad. He kisses her mother and father.

Adrianus walks upstairs into his room. Leda and Shiva walk towards their room also while talking to each other.

How’s your son being with you? Did you tell everything to him? Leda asked.

No I didn’t you know he is too young to know everything but I told him when the right time comes I would share the things that he must know because he might couldn’t handle it.

Oh dear I understand but I’m sorely missing you so much. How’s the situation in the castle?

For now we have nothing to worry but I’m afraid I had a bad dreams and I couldn’t convince myself for not thinking about it. I’m really worried for what may happen in the future.

Don’t think negatively about it you’re here to relax my dear husband. You should sleep well I’m always here beside you.

She arranges the bed so that Shiva could sleep. Shiva doesn’t know that Leda was worried about him

Shiva I would leave you for a while I’m going to check out Adrianus.

Leda gets out to their room she walks toward the room of Adrianus. She knocks the door before she enters.

Adrianus, are you still awake?

Yes Mom I’m lying in my bed. Why? Is there any problem? Adrianus opens the door.

Son I would just want to check on you if you’re okay.

Oh yes Mom! I forgot to ask you about your invention. Any advice would you like to add? Why do you prefer to live separately from Dad instead we can live at the castle?

First and foremost son making new invention isn’t that easy but you have to work harder more to improve your imaginations, ideas and knowledge of the things that you want. Have faith in everything that you do and most of all believe in yourself that you can. About living in the castle you have no ideas how hard it is because you are always going to make your actions infallible. Though the royalties were good to us but sometimes it is unavoidable and I don’t want your father keeps on bothering with us. It challenges him to serve the castle and he loves his job. He is really determined and I don’t want to be burden of his job. I don’t want to disturb his focus to serve the castle.

All right Mom! I barely understand Dad already told me about it. I’m going to sleep now Mom I still have class tomorrow.

Yes sure son. Good night and sweet dreams. Always follow your dreams and never doubt of it.

Leda kisses Adrianus in his forehead and leaves his room.

She is back into their room when she sees Shiva is sleeping obviously he is so tired. Good thing that he could sleep. She didn’t disturb his husband while sleeping even if she wants to talk to him but she couldn’t anymore. Leda is very understanding and patient to her family because she loves them so much more than anything else. For Leda they are the treasure of her life.
