While we’re driving away from the mansion on the dirt road, I can’t shake the overwhelming feeling of abandoning Landon, my last remaining family member. Despite everything he’s done for us - keeping us safe, saving Kane, and helping with the wedding - I can’t bring myself to leave him. We need to turn back.
“Kane, stop the car. I can’t do this”, I say, turning my head to look at him.
“I’m not stopping Ella. We have to leave,” he tells me without looking away from the road.
I reach for the door handle if he wont stop I will open the door while moving “Stop the damn car, or I will open the door while it’s moving.”
After a moment of looking at me, he brings us to a halt. “We need to leave. It’s not safe. Even Landon agrees,” he tells me.
