I wake up to the piercing sound of a woman’s scream, a scream filled with sheer terror and agony. When I open my eyes, darkness greets me while another piercing scream breaking the silence.
As my mind awakens, I immediately recognise her - it’s Jessica. Without hesitation, I fling off the covers and leap out of bed, sprinting to the door. I swing it open with such force that it slams against the wall.
In a sleepy voice, Kane asks behind me, “What’s happening?”
“Jess, go back to sleep, babe,” I say, my words trailing behind me as I hurry out the door, however.
As I approached Elijah and Jessica’s bedroom, I see Landon in the hallway, gripping his gun tightly and scanning the area for any potential threats. He points it at me as he whirls at the sounds of my footsteps.
