The Pack was buzzing with pack members, who were celebrating the marriage of their Alpha's daughter by decorating the pack. Alexia noticed the joy in their eyes as she looked out her window.
She wasn't sure how she felt about it, especially because her sister wasn't thrilled about marrying the Alpha of the Shadow pack, whose name she didn't know.
She hadn't looked at her sister since all that transpired between them when she tried to console her the wedding in a few hours. She hadn't seen anyone from the Shadow pack.
Amelia groaned again, not sure why she was feeling so unhappy when she wasn't the one who was about to marry the crippled, wicked prince; she looked at her dress hanging in her closet and wondered if it was appropriate for her to wear something so lovely as a wedding filled with sorrows.
She heard a tap on the door and quickly went for it, where she saw one of the servants standing before her with a broad smile on her face. "Xavier asked me to give you this piece of jewel," the servant said, and Alexander was perplexed.
She smiled awkwardly and took it from her. “Thank you” she replied, and the servant nodded before walking away.
Alexander sighed as she stood in front of her room's magnificent mirror. It was an emerald necklace and earrings that matched her gorgeous floral gown. Alexia ran her hand over her gown and decided to dress up so she couldn't be late for her sister's wedding.
She wore her gown slowly and with care, and she stood in front of the mirror to appreciate the lovely gown and how it fit her body flawlessly.
The bodice of the green gown was embellished with silver sequins and delicately beaded, and it had a plunging neckline that added to the touch of elegance. The gown cascaded into a modest train at the back, adding a hint of glamour, and Alexia wondered whether she was the bride.
She took a step back from the mirror and exhaled slowly before exiting her room; she chose to join her sister, even knowing she wouldn't be happy to see her, but she couldn't stay away on a day like this.
She just knocked on the door, and it immediately opened; a slave had opened the door for her, and she smiled curtly before entering the room. She was surprised to see her sister dressed in a modest gown rather than a bridal gown.
Her gown was more presentable than her sister's, and she was perplexed; her sister wasn't at all prepared for her marriage, and Alexia immediately felt awful for being so opulent.
“You look perfect!” Scarlett said with a smirk on her face and Alexia looked perplexed, her gaze traveled across the room, and she saw no wedding dress her sister was going to wear. “The makeup artist will do her work on your face” took said, trying to pull her to the dressing table, but Alexia pulls her hand and takes a quick step away from her.
“What is going on? You don’t look ready for your wedding, and it will be starting in less than an hour”, Alexia asked, and Scarlett chuckled.
“Who said I was not ready? You should sit down and look pretty, you can’t possibly attend your sister’s wedding looking like that”. Each said and Alexia furrowed her brows, each word that came out of her sister’s mouth did nothing but make her look more confused. She didn’t understand what was going on and why they were probably dressing her up instead of her sister.
“I would love to go to your wedding void of any form of makeup” Alexia insisted, emphasizing your wedding, Scarlett rolled her eyes and pulled her to sit on the chair. The makeup artist came over and started glamming her face.
After what felt like an eternity, the makeup artist was done and Amelia looked at herself in the mirror. Her face looked so pretty like she was a completely different person, she almost looked like the bride.
She was arguing with her sister about why she wasn’t still dressed up for her day when the door abruptly opened, and they turned their attention to the door.
“We should go, your father is ready,” Amelia said and held Alexia’s hand, pulling her out of the room. Alexia tilted her head to look at Scarlett for the last time before she was dragged out of the room. She was shocked that her stepmother held her hand because she never did that, she had rather hold a coal of fire than hold her hand.
Alexia noticed her father well-dressed and standing in the grand hall, Alpha Xavier noticed an additional presence and tilted his head to look at his wife and daughter. For the first time in forever, Alexia noticed her father smiling as his eyes swept all over her.
“She is here,” he said, and Alexia’s eyes darted between her father and her stepmother.
“Father…” her words were cut short when her father placed his hands on her shoulders and bent his head to level his eyes with her.
“You have done a great job, Alexia, I know you will always do anything to favor the pack,” Alpha Xavier said. Alexia was confused, she tilted her head to see her stepmother and suddenly Scarlett walked onto the scene, but she wasn’t dressed as the bride and, so far, she was the only one overly dressed.
The door suddenly burst open, and they saw several men entering the grand hall. Alexia knew they weren’t from her pack as she saw the unfamiliar faces, she saw her father move over to them, and they exchanged pleasantries. He was acting as if he was familiar with them and Alexia guessed they were from the Shadow pack.
“The Alpha king won’t be attending this grand occasion today. We were asked to send over his wife when the marriage contract is over,” one of the men said, and Alpha Xavier nodded.
“We shall sign the wedding contract right away, and you can send her off,” Alpha Xavier said, looking at Alexia with a smile on his face. Alexia was confused about what was going on.
The paperwork was done and Alexia quickly moved over to meet her father. “Father, what is going on? I don’t understand a thing” she said, and her father smiled.
“The wedding contract between you and the Alpha of Shadow pack is done, and you shall be sent to the pack immediately. Thank you for saving our people. I always knew you would do anything to save the pack,” Alpha Xavier said, and Eleanor was confused.
“Fa… Father…” Her words got stuck in her throat when her father walked away to attend to others.
“Mother! Scarlett! What exactly is going on?" Alexia asked, her eyes welling up with tears, confused about why her father married her off to the crippled prince instead of her sister.
"You're married, Alexia, what's the big deal?" Amelia asked as she walked away.
"I told you I'd make you suffer, I made Mother tell Father you said you'd marry him instead of me, and you're too scared to tell him yourself, and it worked like magic, enjoy your married life with the crippled," Scarlett said as she walked away. Alexia gasped as tears streamed down her cheeks, unable to believe the abrupt change in her fate.
