Chapter 7

1057 Words
The table became more quiet at Alexander's rude way of introducing Alexis to Lucas. "That is interesting!" Lucas said and tried to serve his food, but his father stopped him. "Stop right there, the table isn't full yet!" He said, and Lucas was shocked. "Do we have more visitors?" Lucas asked and his mother nodded. "Chloe and her father are here!" She replied and Lucas looked at Alexander. "Come on, the disabled one can fill the table with his guest while I can't even invite my own friends over!" Lucas protested and his mother shut him up quickly. "Don't speak that way!" His mother said and Alexander smiled. "It is my house before you all moved in one after the other. If you want to invite guests over, go back to your father's house, up the hill!" Alexander responded and Lucas was pissed off. "Alexander, don't speak like that over dinner. He is your cousin's brother. Juniors do speak anyhow!" Malinda said and Alexander chuckled without looking up from the game he was toying with on his phone. "The juniors can speak and not be scolded, but the seniors can be scolded! Is that not the simpler word for unfair and partiality?" He asked, and Malinda looked at her husband to talk about the issue. "It's okay, guys, Lucas, Alexander's guests are extremely important and he just got engaged, he can do whatever he wants. You can't be so petty about these issues!" Alpha Dean said, and Lucas was very quick to shut up. The table was quiet when Chloe descended with her father, giving her a helping hand down the stairs. The action could not help to raise the heads of everyone on the table to watch the drama of Chloe coming down the stairs in an extremely long dinner gown and high heels that made the stairs resound heavily. This was the direct opposite of Alexis, who walked down simply by herself without much noise. Finally, after a lot of struggle with the heels and stairs, they seemed to be mortal enemies. She finally got to the table and Alexander helped her with her seat on his right and she sat in. While her father sat next to her. "Good evening alpha dean and greeting to everyone seated here!" Chloe's father said and no one really responded until the alpha dean voiced out. "We don't appreciate you and your daughter delaying our meals over a fancy dress just for dinner!" Alpha Dean said. Chloe's father was shocked about the level of hostility that alpha Dean was showing him at the moment even though they had been good friends before. " My mate is not rushing down here. She can choose to show up at the table anytime she wants, you won't have her rushed because of your meal!" Alexander counted without looking at him. "It is a family matter, Alexander, we either correct it here or never, and it will be humiliating if it happens outside this place. It will be a total disgrace to everyone in our family to hear that a daughter-in-law of ours decided to grace a event late just for unnecessary!" Alpha Dean said, and Alexander looked up. "If any matter should be discussed as we would, since we love discussing our family matters on the table, it should be about your son, whose character is a total disgrace to this family, or how good will it be to say the second young master of this alcoholic family is out there soiling our alcohol with his alcohols and womanizing character. Hmm, uncle? Answer me!" He responded and alpha Dean was pissed off. He didn't know how to respond and Lucas who was the one in question, did not bother to talk or look up as the accusations were too true to be covered up. "Who loves chicken soup?" Malinda said and the eating started immediately. The table was peaceful for a while but the raging war started because Alexis got choked and she coughed a little and tried to reach for her cup but it was empty. Alexander noticed and passed her his glass of water. His little actions caught the eye of everyone as they stopped and looked at them. Alexander had already returned to eating his meal peacefully and Alexis was still unaware about the situation. She was finally okay and mouthed thank you and then she realized the person who handed her the cup was Alexander. "Alexander, I never knew of your generousity until this very moment-I thought the ice cold prince is nothing but a wood on his wheels!" Lucas said and Chloe was the one who fired back as she was equally pissed off. "Alexander has always been kind-hearted. It is not news if you are able to tell, black-hearted people like you never recognize good virtues and kindness until it's right before your face. Well, I still won't blame you, you won't stay home at all to see all the good things happen!" She added and Lucas was pissed but he laughed. "Say someone who is finally engaged to the fellow she stalked!" Lucas said and Chloe looked at him as her grip tightened on the knife she was using. Her thoughts were no other than using the small table knife to slit Lucas throat and making him suffer for the rest of his life. "Why are you juniors so noisy?" Malinda asked in order to reclaim the peace, but the peace was far away from the table. "Alexander, from the look of things, the lady must be your guest. Who is she? She looks new and not from this kingdom at all." Chloe's father said as he cleaned his mouth his napkin and placed the napkin of the table and pushed his plate forward to indicate he was done eating. Everyone waited on Alexander to talk but Lucas was tired of waiting and decide to respond on his behalf. " She is Alexander's rejected mate!" Lucas said and Alexis calmly wiped her mouth without any emotions. "Oh, she is the low life lady from the storm pack, I thought I heard she was picked in place if her elder sister as she is the second princess of the alpha who is not loved. If she is rejected, why is she here?" Chloe father said.
