"Alpha Dominique, we got a report from the border patrol pack that there has been a sighting of a beast roaming around the outer part of the border for a few days now" Stella, his beta, reported her hands holding a large file tightly The black-haired burly 6ft man sitting behind the huge mahogany desk, looked up from the file he was reading, to reveal a golden eye that looked into a person's soul. Stella shivered unconsciously, as the eyes glazed past her into the distance "Why then are you reporting it to me? Let the gamma send his men to deal with the beast, or do you need me to handle it personally Beta Stella?" his cold baritone voice resounding through the office. "The gamma was the one who brought the latest report, Alpha, " She started placing a picture-filled file on the table before him as she continued "These were the pictures of the beast, despite it looking huge and dangerous, it looked frightened and hurt. Plus it looks like the ancient Lycans " At the mention of the ancient Lycan, Dominique's eye snapped toward the file as he brought it closer to inspect, several pictures of humanoid werewolves spread across the table, sending waves of shock and hope deep into his soul. 'It's been so long ' he thought as he gave the picture another deep look 'So f*****g long, I’ve waited for so many years' 'But how come there is another with an ancient bloodline in them? Shouldn't our lineage be the last with such a bloodline?' 'How have I never heard of them until now? ' "Has there ever been a report of it attacking any pack? " he asked calmly "No, but there has been a report of missing livestock anywhere it is sighted, we assumed it took it due to hunger, it's better than it eating humans or younger Werewolves" Stella reported earning a nod from Dominic "Any other thing?" he questioned "It runs at the sight of humans or other wolves; it doesn't like being around people and its time activities are mostly night time" Dominique looked out the window behind him, to see it was still several hours till night time. "Alright, Inform Adam that he should keep watching it and shouldn't engage with it until I get there " Surprised at his sudden change of mind to go to the scene himself, Stella raises an eyebrow "You want to go yourself?" she asked "It's going to be another full moon tonight, if they engage it in a fight and it successfully wakes the power of its bloodline, none of them will return home alive tonight" "You don't mean…?" she trailed off, unable to voice her thoughts. "Yeah, it's an ancient Lycan" 'And possibly my mate' *** After being sent out of her pack, Anna had nowhere else to go, plus being unable to shift back to her human form restricted her movement into another pack or the human villages around the mountain. She roamed the dark forest, looking for food and a place to sleep every night, after days of starvation and failed attempts at hunting wild game she resulted in stealing the nearby village's livestock. In exchange, she would pick some wild fruit and place them around the owner's house or farm. Doing that had fed her for a little while, but the longer she lived in the forest, the sharper her senses were, her claws grew a lot sharper, and her black furs grew more beautiful and so did her size and appetite. Soon she was seen by other people, which led to people trying to attack her, she travelled deeper into the forest where she wouldn't be found by her pursuers. As days went by many more people came after her, and she began to loathe her existence and what she had become. On this particular full moon, she was determined to end it all, not knowing her fate was about to change. As she ran to her hiding spot in the mountain, she could smell the scent of several wolves coming at her from a different direction, their scent however didn't carry any malicious intent in them. She continued with her prey still dripping blood as it hung on her fangs. It was the full moon tonight, the one night the moon goddess was most close to her creation. Since the moon goddess detested her so much, she would allow her to watch as she ended it all. She made a fire and roasted the pig by her hiding spot, giving away her location to her pursuers, she sat unguarded by the fire and continued roasting her prey, a mixed scent invaded her nose, carrying several emotions with it. Anger, hate, excitement… She tore off the limb of the roasted pig and began eating. "You know they are coming to hunt you, yet you gave away your spot so easily?" a gruff voice asked from the shadow alerting her 'When did he get there? ' 'How come I never heard him coming or smelled him? ' she thought to herself as she looked towards the direction the voice came from and saw nothing but darkness, squinting her eyes for a moment she shrugged and continued munching on her last meal. "What's there to live for? My existence is a curse from the moon goddess. I Will not be doing her a favour by stopping existing?" "A Curse?" the voice asked again "Yeah that was what they said, said I have been cursed by the moon goddess" she explained "My mate rejected me due to the curse and I was sent out of the pack, there isn't much that is keeping me alive." Dominique balled his fist in anger as he heard her words, he wasn't around her, but he could communicate with her from a distance due to their similar bloodline, he increased his pace and continued running towards her location determined to get to her first before any other person did. He contemplated shifting into his wolf form, but he knew he would scare his pack mate shitless, which is why he doesn't shift on full moons. Ancient Lycan can take the form of a complete werewolf any other day of the week, except on full moons when they are closest to their creator and their powers are more enhanced. None of his pack members has ever seen his true form, not even his beat. "You had a mate?" he asked as he continued following her scent "I did but got rejected immediately after. How come you can hear me? I've not been able to communicate with anyone since I became like this" she asked suspiciously as she tore off another limb from the roast Dismissing her question, Dominique asked one of his own "Why didn't you change back to your human form?" "If I could I would have," "No one to guide you?" "Who would? I'm an orphan" "Never met the parents? " "Died in a rogue attack" "So, you want to end it all? Is that why you are attracting them to yourself?" "What's there to live for?" "Not even your mate?" "Were you deaf? I told you I got rejected" "What about a second chance mate?" "I don't have an… " She trailed off as a heavy scent of citrus and Mint hit her in waves, sending euphoria of pleasure into her bones, her fur stood at attention as the same voice whispered once again "Mate!" "No f*****g way, you are like me!"
