I went about that completely wrong.
Perhaps stewing in anger for hours on end had taken a toll on my temper. I really had never been madder in my entire life. For a man like Raven Green to take advantage of an angel like Brynn Davis… well, I saw it like it was — a travesty of justice.
Finding out that she was all alone in the world allowed me to get some insight into how the evil man had gotten to her in the first place. He’d been there when her mother died. He’d taken her under his proverbial wing, showing her how to be the best nurse she could be. At least, in her eyes, that’s what she saw.
