Brynn We’d been back home for a week when I went to see my doctor to get a clean bill of health before I went back to work at the hospital. Physically, I felt fine. But the head nurse, who would now be my boss since Raven had been dishonorably discharged from his position at the hospital, wanted a doctor’s note stating that I was cleared to come back to work. I walked into the house, coming straight home after my appointment, to find Roman sitting in the kitchen as if he’d been waiting there for my return. “How did the examination go, baby?” “It wasn’t too bad. They drew blood to make sure I didn’t contract some rare disease while I was in Africa and Indonesia. And she said my mental facilities were good. She did say that I should see a therapist about everything that’s happened to me.”
