CHAPTER 12

I unlocked the knob and took off my shoes. I heard the telephone ringing as if someone monitored me that I’m home already. I picked it up and it was mom. “Hey mum?” “Honey, I’ll be home late tonight” “We have a party in our hotel and that’s why I’ll be heading late” “I’ve prepared you some spaghetti and meatballs, you can have it” “I see mom” “Have great time with your colleagues!” “Love you, Charley” I hung up the call. I turned on the living room lights and the kitchen’s. I looked the dining table with my dinner that my mom prepared. Working out my body for skating after so long made me sore. I went upstairs to my room and took off my clothes and stretched. I turned on the geyser to take a bath. Meanwhile, I was talking with Mia and she was so excited that went on a date with Paul, the senior. After coming out of the shower, I applied some lotion and put on my clothes. I went downstairs and got my plate of spaghetti and meat balls. I threw myself on the couch and turned on the TV. I felt my heart racing and that someone was watching me. I made sure that I locked the door once I got in the home when I heard a rattling sound in the kitchen. I was too afraid to go in. I got up from the couch and strolled slowly towards the kitchen. The lights were on though. I slowly put my head in to check. There was no one. I walked back normally. “These days are becoming strange” I muttered. I took my plate and cleaned the dishes that was on the sink. My heart raced again. I grabbed a water bottle on the stand and poured it in my mouth. I turned off the TV and dimmed the ground lights. I walked upstairs to my room. I threw myself on my bed and started wandering in imaginations. “I have my school tomorrow… it’s gonna end soon. The fun I had with my friends, Mia, Jake, Olives, Christine and of course Anakin. We’ll be moving after a quarter. I’m becoming paler and everything seems stranger day by day…Maybe it’s because I’m gonna turn 17…Maybe odds were always bad for me forever” I sighed and pulled in the sheets as it was cold. I looked the clock that striked 10. I grabbed it and ticked it for the next day’s alarm. I kept it aside and fell asleep slowly. *** I tapped hard on that witch like door. I saw a woman taking my dad into that place. I tapped it hard. The down part of the door seemed wobbly. I kicked it with my right leg and break it open. I palpitated. “Dad?” I saw my dad hanging in the centre of the room with something on his mouth. “Daaddd!!!” I screamed. I ran up and catched him to make a balance and to take him off the rope. “That freakin’ witch!” There was no one to help since he was heavy on his own. I pulled in the chair towards me with my leg and climbed upon it. I removed the cuff on his neck that made him fall down. After he fell, everything changed. He was turned into a million of tiny spiders. “What’s wrong?” Since I’m allergic to spiders, my body started reacting. “Huh f**k” *** I woke up crushing my chest. I felt my heart racing to the core. My blood vessels moving faster than ever, my veins rushing in its pace. Everything was like a fast forward. I palpitated. I looked around for some water but there was nothing. I kept my feet on the floor and tried to calm down for a minute. I was still holding my chest. I rubbed my eyes with my palm. “Dad..it’s hard for me” I felt tears flowing down through my cheeks. I bit my lips and wiped the tears with my shirt. I sobbed. I stood motionless for minutes. I then resumed and walked downstairs to drink some water. It was very dark and they lights weren’t even dimmed. It was dark except the street lights peeping through the patterned curtains. I went to the kitched and opened the fridge. I grabbed the bottle and started pouring down. I felt someone was watching me again, from the dining room. this time, I saw two little lights popping, it was in red colour. It was like an eye. “Mom?” “Are you trying to do something?” I asked out. The eyes blinked. “Mom, common I’m already out of mood!” I kept the bottle back in the fridge and closed it. That red eye came rushing towards me with a black body like a cheetah. It was more quick in a fraction of seconds. It gave me hit and I felt nothing. I didn’t feel anything physically. I turned back and there was no one or no red. “Is it still a dream?”
