James POV-

What was so weird about that omegas scent this morning? I had tried to concentrate on work but found myself heading towards the south woods pretty quickly. Dex's desire to be around Sofia was so strange but so strong, so I had to create distance in order to have a clear head.

'Why are you acting like this, Dex? Do you think she's our mate?'

I asked the question I had been avoiding all morning.

'I think so. I've never smelt anything so enticing but she didn't even seem to notice.'

I could feel him sulking. I had to remind him she wasn't yet 18, but if that was the case, how come I could scent her out? Also, why was my fated mate a lowly omega? The goddess must be playing some awful joke on me. As if the pack would accept an omega assistant as their Luna. I'd have to reject her when she came of age. My whole body growled as Dex took over and forcefully threw me to the back of his mind. I was too taken aback to stop him.

'You will not reject our mate! She's ours and only ours. I don't care about her status. If she turns out to be mine I will mark, mate her and take her as my Luna, and if you try and stop me, I will never allow us to take another shewolf for the rest of our lives. You can sate your own needs.'

Being so taken aback by his rash comment, I almost didn't notice when the enticing smell was drifting through my senses. Luckily, Dex was so in awe of it, I managed to push back for control and shifted back although I was stark naked and had no clothes lying around, so I was stuck there with the girl, who was maybe my mate somewhere around. I couldn't find it in me to care, so I started walking to where the scent was coming from and my heart nearly stopped. There in front of me was her beautiful wolf. A very large white wolf with a small red marking under her ear. It looked like a moon. She was almost the size of my Beta wolf who was the one pouncing on her, playing together like little puppies. It irked me that they looked so happy and Dex was all animalistic, trying to caw his way out and rip his very own Beta to bits and mark Sofia right there. I had to act and fast. So I cleared my throat and glared at them both. Rolling my Alpha aura at them to stop and submit. In an instant, Liam's wolf bowed his head and bared his neck, but Sofia's wolf just stood there and turned her head in question to me. She still wasn't submitting and it was exciting Dex even more, so I rolled my full force alpha aura at her and she took a step back before growling and taking an attacking stance, ready to pounce. It took me merely a second to realize she was going to attack me when Nord jumped in front of me on full alert growling and ready to protect his alpha. This was going to get bloody, I realized quickly. As Nord pounced towards her, his teeth bared and bit hard on her front paw, making her whine in pain. At that time, Dex couldn't take the threat towards her, even after her disrespect and shifted. Charging towards Nord, he stopped when he saw what was in front of him. Sofias wolf stood above a bleeding Nord with her teeth buried in his back. She had taken out his Beta wolf and was now stalking towards Dex. He whined, not wanting to hurt her, but couldn't allow her to attack him, so he lunged. It was difficult to get her to submit without physically harming her, but after five minutes she seemed to get tired and bared her neck. Dex beamed with happiness and casually licked her snout.

'Dex, what the f**k was that?'

I shouted from in his head. He simply replied with;

'Be thankful I haven't put a pup in her belly right now because the goddess only knows I want to.' He purred, his words filled with desire.

That promptly made me shut up, not wanting to provoke him into actually doing it. Sofias wolf nuzzled into his chest and he purred. He actually purred out loud for her to hear. This was mortifying. How would he explain this to Sofia? She replied by licking his chest, causing lust-filled desire to spread through Dex. It was so strong I felt it too. At that moment, he wanted to take her just as much as Dex did. Did she feel it too? I wondered inwardly. Before Dex could act on his desires I shifted back and grabbed a pain of shorts from the stash not far ahead and threw a shirt on the floor for Sofia before turning my back and ordering her wolf to shift. The second I heard her change, I turned around only to see her rushing to Nords' side crying. Why did she care so much about him? Jealousy ripped through me as I stormed towards her. Nord was already healing Liam, so I knew he'd be ok so I threw Sofia over my shoulder and headed for the pack house. I hit her bare backside when she struggled and she instantly stiffened and stilled.

"Alpha James, could you please put me down before I'm sick all over your back?" She mumbled meekly.

Her personality was so different from her wolves it was shocking. As per her request, I put her down and just started down at her. She was only around 5'5, which was nothing like my 6'3, so when she looked down and mumbled I hadn't quite heard what she said.

"Look at me when your talking and speak up girl!" I scolded.

She raised her eyes and I saw them filled with tears which as much as I hated to admit, broke my heart into pieces. I made a mental note to be more careful with her in future. She repeated what she said, trying to sound strong, but it barely came out like a whisper.

"Please don't put me in the cells. Nora's not pledged loyalty yet, and can be a bit boisterous. She has not trained with other wolves. I did warn Liam but he said he could handle her. I promise it wont happen again. I have a pup at home, which is why I took this job. He can't survive without me. Im so so sorry. Please have mercy on me."

She dropped to her knees and bowed her head, begging the last part. She had a pup? At only 17? Who on earth was the father? Dex growled in my head, 'MINE'. I promptly told him to shut up while i watched Sofia continue.

"I'll quit being your assistant, become a rogue and leave the pack for committing such a crime-"

Before i could register what she had said, Dex barged to the surface and growled menacingly, making her jump and shake in fear.

"You will do no such thing!" he growled.

"You are mine and you will move to the pack house where I can keep an eye on you. You and your pup."

I uttered the last sentence, my words full of disgust. This shewolf would be the death of me. How dare she have a pup with someone else? Dex retreated to the back of my mind in pain over the fact another wolf had taken her. I grabbed her arm and dragged her into the pack house.

"Go fetch your pup and be in my office in half an hour. Don't you dare be late girl." I growled before dumping her at the door and storming off into my office.
