James POV-

"Leave." I grunted at the three shewolves in my bed. Pouting, they all scurried out of my office while I did my fly up. I cannot wait to find my mate, it takes three omegas and still me and my wolf don't feel sated. I've heard once you find your mate, she is perfect for you in every way and the only person who can fully sate you and vice versa. My wolf, Dex, never joins in on whoring, he just saunters to the back of my mind and ignores me. Even when I take Natalia, who is also an alpha wolf. A sexy one at that. He just doesn't seem interested in her, which is why I have not taken her to be my chosen mate. Even though she begs me everytime. Seems i can pleasure her more then she's ever been before, but I won't take the chance of finding her fated mate away from her, or me for that matter. Dex purred at the idea of finding his Luna and the corners of my mouth lifted up.

Luckily for me, my omega assistant was back today. She took a three-week leave to rest as she had worked for me non stop for two and a half years. I can admit she was quick on the ball and it's been difficult dealing with all the boring packs paper work and going to the hospitals to check on all the patients, plus dealing with any business complaints and the ideas for a better training ground. It's all Luna jobs, so of course she will simply be fired when that time comes, because my Luna will take over the role. Usually Alphas didn't have assistants as they found their mates not long after their 18th birthday and only then do they take over the pack, but my dad fell ill and so the pack didn't seem weak. I took over while my mother resigned from Luna to care for her mate, my father. I'm already 21 and still have no such luck finding mine. Even though me and my mother throw mating balls every month to try and find her, we never succeed. It's exhausting really but me and Dex know when the time is right we'll scent her out and begin marking and mating the woman.

Thinking about cermeonys i just remembered next week im we've got the initiation and pledging ceremony. Its when all the wolves that are newly shifted pledge loyalty to their alpha. It links them to the mind link and puts a tetheron them so i can find all my pack members in a heartbeat if needs be. For both their safety and the packs. As i was thinking, my Beta, Liam, strolled in.

"Wheres Sofia? Isn't she due back today?"

I looked at him confused.

'Whose Sofia?' Dex asked in my head.

Seeing the confusion written on my face, Liam looked dumbfounded.

"Err your assistant? I thought she was due to start again today? Oh and James. Try not to be too hard on the shewolf. She tries her best and really helps out around the pack wherever she can." I was gobsmacked at his concern, he never cared about females. He was dead set on waiting for his mate. My alpha genes need to have a release at least once a week or I can't concentrate.

"Ahh, does Liam have a crush on the little omega? You can have her if you want? I've never taken that particular shewolf, so I'm guessing shes still virtuous, unless, of course, she has a boyfriend?"

I winked at him. Dex cackled in my head as I teased him. A low growl bellowed out of him as his wolf appeared on the surface flashing his silver eyes with green flecks and I couldn't help but laugh at his defensiveness. He definitely liked the girl. I'm not surprised in the slightest. To be honest, he was always around her when she was at work, helping her with whatever she needed. I looked at the time as Liam stormed out and my good mood was already dispersing. Ten minutes until she was supposed to be here and no sign of her. She had a lot to do today, so she should've come early. I growled in my mind. Stupid omega. What do I pay her for? She had better have my morning Latte as well. I'm in desperate need of coffee after the morning I've had. I could already feel the grouchiness seeping in. I mind linked my Gamma to run and grab a pizza slice from the pack hall for me as until the initiation ceremony I couldn't mind link my assistant, which is why i expected her early today. i believe she was 17 now and only got her wolf a year or so ago so she hasn't pledged her loyalty yet therefore no mind link or tether. This pledging ceremony is due to take place on a full moon, so im going to be making it a formal occasion and throwing a mating ball as well. Perhaps I'll find my mate?

'Yes Alpha.' Gamma Wyatt sent through the mind link.

' Thank you' I replied and shot it off.

Thats when i smelt it. Just a tickle in my nose. I cant explain it but the smell even had Dex on his toes all ansty. It kind of smelt like lily and eucalyptus with a tinge of vanilla. I followed it out into the pack corridor when I saw the omega. My assistant, whose name is apparently Sofia, was rushing through the door all red-faced and panting. Uncontrollable anger rushed off me at the sight of her. Had she been mating? Why was Dex ready to tear everyone apart at the sight of her? Seeing Liam smiling fondly at her sent both me and Dex over the edge for some unknown reason and we grabbed her and threw her in our office with a little too much strength. Dex whined as he saw her lying on the floor looking up at us with her sky-blue eyes completely appalled and slightly frightened. Even so, her wolf let out a snarl and Sofia looked at me in utter shock, obviously not expecting her wolf to challenge me. Dex, however, was on the surface staring at her more intently than I liked to admit. I could see Liam's interest. She was a small girl with dark brown, waist-length hair pulled up into a high ponytail, she was wearing ripped skinny jeans and a fitting black T-shirt which showed off her girly curves and dipped low enough to have her cleavage popping. Dex licked his lips knowingly and I realized he wanted to take the omega. He pushed all the way forward and smelt her. She was that wonderful smell we were smelling, definitely lily and vanilla with an eucalyptus smell to her as well. She had never smelt like this before. Perhaps she was now mated? But it wasn't a male's scent, so it couldn't be. Dex was all alert but quickly retreated, whining when he saw the shock horror on her face and he realized how rough he had been. He had never acted like that before and realizing Sofia had made him act this way, I growled at her inwardly. She stood up and headed to her seat while i was deep in thought. With her head down it seemed she was waiting for us to throw a fit. i took a deep breath and dumped the paperwork i hadn't done in front of her and went to storm out. I had to punish her for almost being late, so as I opened the door and left, I shouted back, loud enough for everyone to hear:

"Next time, don't show up to work looking like you've been mated for hours. It makes you look like a whore."
