Chapter 8: Unexpected

Mia's POV:
I worried about Liv while she was in the hospital but now she was out and had decided to go to another pack, she wanted to be with her brother. I decided to call her and check up on her.
"Hey Liv, how are you feeling?"
"I'm good how are you? I'm sorry I left so sudden."
"Its okay, honestly it was safer for you."
"Yeah it was. I got something to tell you Mia. Promise me you won't freak out."
"I promise, now what is it?"
"I have a second chance."
"What do you....OH MY GODDESS!!"
"You promised not to freak out."
"I'm not freaking out; who is he?"
"He's-um-well, Mia he is Alpha Micheal's son...Liam."
"You're joking right; first Alpha Chad and now Alpha Liam. Girl what is with you and Alphas? Have you decided what to do yet?"
"Actually I have."
"Really, what did you pick."
"Mia; Liam and I are fully mated. I bare his mark."
"OH MY GODDESS LIV, YOU WHAT!?!?"
"Last night, oh Mia it was amazing. I knew what I wanted Liam had always been my brothers friend protecting me was something he always done. When we met I passed out, everything was so overwhelming at that moment, but Liam was with me through it all. He never left my bed till I woke up and even then, he was always with me."
"Awe, Liv I'm so happy for you. Have you talked about becoming a Luna yet?"
"Actually no not yet, I'm gonna talk to him tonight but if I have a ceremony will you please come?"
"Of course I will...'just a second'...sorry Liv I have to go. Send me an invitation for your ceremony. Love you."
"I will, love you too."
After the call with Olivia I went downstairs to do my chores and tell my parents about Olivia. They were thrilled, even more so than me, lol. I finished all my chores and decided to go for a run. I shifted and ran through the woods thinking about what having a mate was like. I cleared my mind and ran back to the house to take a shower and get ready for dinner.
I got out of the shower just in time, mom was hollering at me to come eat. At the table I asked about Olivia's Luna ceremony and if they were going to go. Mom and dad said that I could go but they had responsibilities here at the house.
After dinner I went back to room, got all comfy in bed with a book in my hand. I read for hours before darkness took over and I was dreamland.
Olivia's POV:
When I got off the phone with Mia I went to find Liam, which wasn't too difficult since he was in his office. I tapped lightly on the door.
"Come in." he said with authority which made him sound even more sexy than before. His face lit up when he saw me. "Baby, what do you need? Everything okay?"
"Everything is fine, I just wanted to talk to you."
"About what?"
I walked over and sat on his lap, which he didn't seem to mind. "I wanted to ask about us becoming Alpha and Luna. Are you sure that I'm enough to play the role of Luna?"
"What do you mean, of course you are."
"I don't know, I've never lived in a pack. I don't know how to run one." I dropped my head into my hands and had to fight back tears.
"Hey, its okay. You will learn besides I'm the one who runs the pack, you just help me. Neither of us are alone. Speaking of Alpba and Luna though, dad was thinking about handing down his title this week. He said he is happy I found and marked my mate and that its time to retire and for us to step up. Don't worry though I'm here to help you. I love you Liv."
"Promise?"
"I promise baby."
"I love you too Liam."
Liam's POV:
Seeing my angel so upset about taking over made me sad and I was curious if she really wanted to go through with it. I decided not to ask, I didn't want to upset her further. Instead I kissed her soft lips, eventually trailing my lips down to her...
*knock* *knock*
"Come in." I figured it was either my father or my beta Matthew.
"Hey big brother and Olivia."
"Hey Riles, what's up."
"Dad wants you and Olivia in his office says it's important but couldn't reach you via mindlink."
"Oh yeah sorry when Liv came in I was focused on her I'll tell him we're coming. Thanks Riles."
"You're welcome." with that Riley smiled at us and then left.
"Okay beautiful, let's go talk to my father shall we?"
"We shall," she giggled. Oh how this girl makes me feel complete. We walked to my dads office hand-in-hand. We stopped in front of his big wood doors and I knocked smartly on it.
"Come in," man his alpha voice is always so intense.
"Father, you wanted to see us both?"
"Yes-yes come in. We have a lot to discuss. Let's get down to business, no need to waste time. Son we talked about me and your mom retiring soon. Well we talked this morning and feel it is best to go ahead and hand down the title today and have the ceremony 2 days from now."
"Today? Whats the rush?" Liv was worried I could hear it in her voice. I pulled her into my arms and whispered in her ear "shh baby its okay don't be worried remember" she smiled lightly and relaxed in my embrace.
"There isn't really any rush, but I do think the time is right. Olivia you will be just fine with Liam as Alpha. Now do you both except this passing on of the title so soon?"
"Yes I do...Liv?"
"Of course I do, you can't do it alone."
"Speaking like a true Luna already. Alright then you two relax you're mother has decided to plan it all."
"Thanks father, please excuse us."
"You are welcome, now go on, enjoy your day."
We walked hand-in-hand back to our room. Olivia was still stressed, I could tell. I could only hope she doesn't regret her decision.
"Liv, are you okay?"
"Hm, oh yeah I'm okay just distracted."
"Do you want to be Luna baby?"
"Liam of course I want to be Luna, I just hope I have what it takes. I can't fail at this. I can't fail you." she was on the verge of tears.
"Shhh, honey you are perfect, as long as you are by my side you will never fail me. I promise not to fail you either."
"You always know what to say. I feel better, thank you."
"You're welcome."
"And Liam?"
"Yes princess?"
"I love you with all my heart."
A smile grew on my face, I have everything I've ever wanted and this girl was all I needed. "I love you with all my heart too, I promise to keep you safe and love you everyday. Liv you are my everything. "
