Chapter 9: The Threat

Olivia's POV:
Yesterday was crazy, Liam's father told us he was passing on the title to Liam and that the ceremony would be held tomorrow. I know I shouldn't worry but I can't help but think I'm not cut out to be Luna.
This morning I woke up in Liam's arms; my safe haven. I also woke up with a full bladder, but he won't let go.
"Li...Li I have to go to the bathroom."
"Ugh, fine. When you get done you better come back." he released me from his grasp and I got off the bed to go pee. When I was done I went back to the bedroom.
"About time, come lay back down with me."
"So needy this morning Li."
"Liv you are my mate, I'm always gonna need you. I love when you are in my arms and I want it a little longer this morning so get over here please."
"Okay okay, I'm coming." we stayed in each other's arms till about noon. I'm starting to get hungry but I don't want to tell him.
"Baby are you hungry?"
"Did you read my mind? Yes I am actually really hungry."
"I didn't have to read your mind, your stomach told me."
"How embarrassing."
"Nothing to be embarrassed about, come on. Lunch should be served soon." we got dressed and headed down stairs.
Liz has started preparing for the ceremony.She informed us that it would be held in 2 days time. She has made herself in charge of everything including inviting friends and family. I hope she remembers Mia in her family.
"Liz, I just want to ask if Mia and her family are on the guest list?"
"Yes dear, most of the surrounding packs are on the guest list. The Red Moon Pack are welcome but that will be excluding Chad."
"Oh, I appreciate that."
"Honey, I can't take the credit, his parents have informed us they are not allowing him to become Alpha and that they want him far away from you." Hearing that calmed my nerves but then also made me scared because what if he tries to show up and ruin everything.
"Great more things for him to hate me for." I mumbled under my breath but I'm sure she heard it. "Okay well thank you Liz I really appreciate everything you are doing for this ceremony."
"Liv, honey you are my son's mate and soon to be wife/Luna. Just relax and allow me to perfect everything."
Liam told me to finish eating and to meet him in our room for a surprise? How many surprises does this man have. As I was walking up the stairs I bumped into a tall burnette.
"Oh goddess me, I'm so..."
"Ahh, look what you did you ignorant peasant. What are you doing in the pack house anyways? Lower omegas belong outside so your filth doesn't infect anyone else." she spit at me.
"I'm not..."
"Save it, I'm telling the Alpha what you have done."
A few minutes later Liam comes down the stairs and rushes straight to me.
"Liv, baby are you okay? What happened??"
"BABY?!?!?" The burnette was not happy.
"Yes your future Luna, Vanessa meet Olivia, my mate"
"MATE?!?! Liam this is impossible you were supposed to be my mate; MINE. I won't let this b***h take you away..."
"ENOUGH; Vanessa you need to leave the pack house, for good. If I see you in this house again or around my mate again I will lock you up. Do you understand?" she didn't answer right away which just angered Liam more.
"DO YOU UNDERSTAND VANESSA LILLY??"
"Yes Alpha. I understand."
"Good now get out." with that Vanessa ran away out of the front door.
"Now baby are you okay, what happened?"
"I'm fine, I was coming upstairs and accidentally ran into her. I tried to apologize but she pushed me and called me the same thing...the same thing that Chad called me." I couldn't help the tears that stained my cheeks. It still hurt, even though I found my second chance.
"Aww honey come here, let's go talk to my father. I need to tell him about Vanessa.
"Okay, but Li don't be so harsh on her. Its strange to have an outsider walk right into Luna position. "
"That may be so Liv, but you will be Luna and this pack better realize you aren't leaving."
"I know, hopefully they warm up to me."
"Baby they're gonna love you." He sounded so confident, I mean how can he be so sure.
Liam's POV:
After the incident we went up to my father's office. Liv insisted we take it easy on Vanessa and as much as I hate to she's right. It will take some time but that doesn't excuse anyone bad behavior towards her. I knocked smartly on my fathers office door.
"Come in... aw there's my boy and his mate." he gleamed.
"Father we have an important matter to discuss."
"You seem distraught, Liam what happened? Are you and Olivia alright? "
"We're okay, but we need to talk about Vanessa."
"Vanessa Lilly? What has she done?"
"Olivia bumped into her in the hallway and tried to apologize. Vanessa shoved her and called her a peasant just as Chad called her the day she found him. When she found out Liv was my mate she flipped and about called my mate a b***h. I will not tolerate disrespect from pack members."
"I see, so what happened after?"
"I told her to leave the pack house and not return or go around my mate."
"I will see to it her parents are aware of her actions and this evening we will be making a pack announcement over this issue."
"Sir, if I may?" Olivia had worry laced in her voice and was trembling.
"Liv, darling call me father or Micheal but not sir its makes me feel old."
"Yes father, but I was just going to ask if you will take it easy on Vanessa, she didn't know who I was. She thought I was an omega from another pack."
"As it may be Liv, Vanessa knows better than to treat anyone like that and after she found out you were his mate she didn't stop but if those are your wishes I will let her off with a warning. I will be keeping my eye on her."
"Thank you."
We left my fathers office and headed back to the room. I still had a surprise for Liv but I wasn't sure if she still wanted it right now. When we got to my door I turned her towards me.
"Liv, I still have that surprise but if you are too tired we can save it for tomorrow"
"No thats okay I wanna know the surprise" she was finally smiling.
"Okay baby close your eyes." she did as I said and walked her into our room.
