Chapter 4
Brian used to be a morning person, but since working shifts most of his adult life, he was now more of an always slightly tired person. He’d checked his phone sometime around four A.M. to read a message from a few hours ago informing him that he was scheduled for the day off, due to too much overtime. A nice surprise.
Brian left his phone on vibrate, and fell back asleep with Angel next to him. When Brian woke again, it was late morning, and Angel wasn’t in the bed. Brian heard noises in the apartment though, so he hadn’t left. Brian got out of bed with a yawn, and pulled on some clean sweats and a T-shirt. He shuffled his way into the kitchen, heading automatically to the coffee pot.
