Chapter 13 Tuesday 13 January 2032 At an isolated laboratory in the heart of Berkshire, Julie watched as Naomi – one of four lab assistants who worked rotating shifts – played with the infant Janus. He was already more stable in his walking, not tottering around as he had done a few hours previously. He didn’t seem at all fazed either by the fact that he appeared to have four mums. Why should he? He had nothing he could compare his situation too. He didn’t go to playgroup. He didn’t interact with other children or their families.
