Julie had been surprised when she got the call that the Division Head of the Dstl wanted to see her. Now she was seated outside Mr Appleton’s office waiting to be called inside. She hadn’t felt so nervous since the last time she’d been called to see the headmaster at her senior school. She didn’t remember why she’d been called in the head’s office that time but it couldn’t have been very serious. Not if she’d forgotten the reason. This time, she had a good idea as to why she’d been summoned – Mr Appleton must have already got word that she’d told Janus why he had been created.
