Chapter 15: Finding Who You Are

Crystal

I have been in the Mansion for 8 months and it feels like home, the guards greet me and let me have a look at their guns, one of them had a shot gun unloaded the shells aim and then load with shells within seconds he was very chuffed as normally girls shop for clothes, handbags, shoes and get all dulled up  but with me I do like guns  as to keep me safe and my father trained me how to shoot when I was 12 before Maria came into our lives. Eliza is dating one of the men at the mansion but keep it professional in work hours and the twins let them have free time in the week. I have kept some distance between the brothers since our s****l encounter they try approach, but I walk the other way I know they stare at me when I’m working and winking at me. Maria has been coming more often and I do not like it, she always tries to try to go in the office but failed at every moment, her debt is paid now but she still here? There must be something in that office that she wants. I still tend to her when she stays but she makes me skip meals on purpose, what she has against me? She has taken everything sand it is still not enough. I will do my own investigating as it is pissing me off! I was in the dining room getting the table set for lunch but then I heard aloud screaming sound I walked to main staircase and can still hear all the screaming. It was coming from the basement, good job that I am wearing a long black trouser jumpsuit and my long hair in a big bun and flat shoes.

I reached for the door and slowly opened it, there was dark grey walls and I can smell blood and it was little bit chilly, I quietly went down each step and strong smell hit my nose: blood, sweat and damp was in the air. I wrapped my hands tight around my stomach, as I got to the bottom I saw 10 cells 5 on each side and at the far end there was a desk that I couldn’t make out what was on there as I was too far away, slowly walked past each cell until got the fifth one on the left. I looked and saw a man must be in late 20s chained to the wall, each arm up in the air and legs a part, he had a wound on the side his stomach, there was pile of blood at his feet, his wrists red raw from the chains same as his ankles. He wore black trousers and was shirtless. He looked up and saw me “have they sent you down here to seduce me to get information out me” the guy said slowly, I looked in shock I came down here at my own free will even though that I am not allowed down here. “actually your wrong on that Mr I heard a scream and I was close by so I came down here to investigate” I said in confidence “oh well I still won’t talk to one their dirty sluts” he said harshly, by this Crystal’s gaze looked she wanted to hit this guy with all her strength but of being the better person and be kind like her mother she might make a friend out of this “ sorry to burst your bubble you PRICK but I am  no slut, I’m still a virgin and for your information I don’t seduce men to get information out of them” she spat.

The guy looked up in shock and did not say a word. He noticed that there were cameras in the basement and the twins could be watching but Crystal did not seem to care if they were watching or not. She pulled a chair out and sat not far from the cell door “what’s your name Mr” she said “Joseph, what’s yours?” he said in agony from the chains “Crystal what are you in for obviously not for a friendly visit” she giggled “Do you know a person called Maria Saunders?” she looked up in shock “yes she is my stepmother she married my father Hector and then he died a year later why?” she wanted answers as well as Joseph “Oh really that’s interesting, she told me to spy on this place, I was reluctant at first but she got me drunk and one thing lead to another” after hearing that thought Crystal shivered in her spine and cringed and put that at the back of her mind “she recorded it and threatened to show my wife If I didn’t do the job, I love my wife a lot she is pregnant too 4 months to be the exact we tried for years to conceive, many miscarriages that broke her heart each time she felt ashamed that she couldn’t have a successful pregnancy and she thought I would leave her but I didn’t, time past and now she is taking it easy” Crystal listened to his story and she felt bit sympathy for them both “what was you spying on exactly”

“the twins have a file in their office something to do with money but she can’t get hold of it as recently she tried to sell her old diner that your father had but failed as it didn’t belong to her, she is obsessed with money and she is very greedy she wastes it on expensive s**t also this file as a bank account of £500,000 and deed to the diner. If she got a hold of that she would need to kill the owner and get the money and the diner” he said in pain again “do you know who the owner” she said she knows the answer to that but wants to hear it if it was true as she had no clue of what her father did before he died. “she rambled on a lot mostly talking alone like she was mad but she did mention the owner her name was Crystal Saunders she kept her hidden from this world and stole everything from her, poor lass I read about her she went missing but she had her all this time” dumb b***h” “I am surprised you haven’t figured it out yet have you Joseph” she said, he looked very confused “because I am Crystal Saunders” she took the necklace hidden under her outfit opened the locket and opened it showing him. He looked very closely and had shock in his eyes.

“Because I am daughter of a mafia but I have heart of my mother Saphira and you got caught up in Maria’s plans, she took everything from me, whipped me to make me forget who I was, treated me like s**t, I don’t want your child to be brought up in a world without family mum died when I was born and dad died when was 13. Every child deserves to have both parents in lives right”

Suddenly I heard a door crash open and came Elijah, Victor, Mr Ricci and Andrea came running in holding their guns. I stood up from my chair and had my head down. “You have broken a rule Crystal you shouldn’t be down here” shouted Elijah “for that you will be punished. Crystal looked up in shock and had watery eyes but she stood her ground “I managed to do something right here, I managed to get information when you both couldn’t the one you should have in these cells is Maria she has been going in to your office to look at a certain file that your father has and it has something to this Crystal Saunders girl” she didn’t mention that she is her as if she did tell them they would laugh in their faces “Maria threatened Joseph he was reluctant at first but she got him drunk and she recorded them and threatened to tell his wife and she is pregnant too so I think you better look at the cameras and see for yourself and I think you should let him go” she spat Elijah looked very angry at Crystal but shocked at the same time like she was a leader or something but he wasn’t going to let this slide “HOW DARE YOU  TALK TO ME LIKE THAT b***h, I CAN DO THE f**k I LIKE AND YOU ARE GOING TO PUNISHED BADLY FOR YOUR ACTIONS” he shouted “you just don’t get it do you, you think you run all of this and do what you like, well that’s not going to  happen this time as I am going to set this guy free and get that s*x tape, you can do what you want with me but I am not letting an innocent life only have one parent as I would know, only had one since I was born and no one when I was 13” she sobbed.

“FINE, DO WHAT YOU f*****g LIKE as I have severe punishment in mind and you won’t have any meals either only left overs if there is any” said Elijah in a harsh tone. The others were in shock, Victor was going to reach out for her, he remembering what happened that night he was so horny, no other girl made him that horny before he fell in love with her Elijah did to but he doesn’t want to admit it. She moved his hand away and left her to it then followed Mr Ricci, Andrea stayed for a few mins thinking then left. Crystal got the keys from the table and opened the cell then undone the chains carefully on each limb, she gave him some water but was very weak and exhausted. She managed to get bandages for his wound and tend to them, she knew first aid as because of her scars and bought first aid book in a charity shop some years ago, she gave him some clothes and turned round she noticed the camera flashing green in the corner she knew  that Elijah was watching her but she shrugged it off and do something better with her life and help someone in need. He told her that he was ready and offered him her shoulder she sat him down near the stairs and gave him some water to rest “Maria is still here she must have that tape in her room, stay here until I return” “why didn’t you not tell them who you are” he said “if I did I would be laughing stock and they wouldn’t believe me, plus  I  am remembering that I have been here before many years before I came here as a servant” “I will wait the bleeding has stopped and I just want to get away from here” he said panting for air. she left him there and went up the stairs to the door and closed it.
