The fight was over. The royal werewolves and witches stared at Pixie and me in shock and amazement. The power I possessed as a part werewolf and witch had transcended to another level to have allowed my wolf form to change. This realization felt awkward. I began to shift back into my human form, and as I did, I made sure to preserve my modesty by willing my armor back onto my body.
"Well, Princess, what do you think of our full form," asked Pixie?
"You were amazing, Pixie; everyone is okay, at least I think they are," as I began to mind-link the warriors to check on the status of the fallen and those that were hidden within the bunkers below the castle and around the Kingdom.
Paxton and Jeremy were among the casualties. It seemed that Lady Anora had provided the rouge army with more than one poisoned dagger. They had been exposed to the effect of her poison for too long. Alpha Hersh's Beta lay near them; he had been the one that killed them.
In total, there were seven casualties. I gave orders for all the fallen royal warriors to be taken to the mortuary. Those injured were to be taken to the pack hospital. All the rouges and traitors to be taken beyond the castle walls to be burned.
As the sun began to rise, we knelt before Dominicus; using the same incantation to extract the curse from Luna Queen, we pulled it from his body. The stillness on his face began to contort into a grin. "I see you came to the conclusion I hoped you would," he stated smugly with a hit of distress? This curse takes a significant toll on the body. This time I went ahead and allowed the curse to dissipate and leave existence.
"Just because I have come to the conclusion you helped your sister in an effort to reduce the risk of her and the Alpha successfully bringing an end to the lives of the Alpha King and Luna Queen does not mean you are off the hook, Dominicus. My brother will need more convincing not to bring an end to your life. However, since I sent a blood sample to the Witch Queen, I am sure that one of the Elder witches or high wizards will tell her the truth. She may let the Alpha King know your real role in this attack was intended to prevent ultimately. I am sure that before you enacted your plan that you foresaw this fact and have compiled enough evidence to prove your innocence beyond what magical evidence can provide," I stated?
Finding the right words was evidently difficult for Dominicus. He was going to need treatment and soon to fully recover from the effects of the curse.
"Yes, Princess I, I have everything I need to prove to the Alpha I intended not to bring him or his Luna any harm…" he said.
At that moment, my brothers Archimedes and Euclid appeared before us.
"Little sis, you did such a great job," Euclid said as he pinched my face! Uhh, I hated when he did that!
"Such an awesome job! Your training has come a long way," Archimedes exclaimed as he pulled me into a big bear hug. Euclid joined the hug-out session squeezing me between them. They drove me crazy, but I had not seen them in quite a while, so I let them hug me. I would have to get Euclid back later for the unnecessary "grandmotherly greeting." He was always trying to embarrass me.
Once, they released me from their brotherly death grip. They both laid eyes on the destruction on the castle grounds. "Your training has made you a lot stronger," said Archimedes looking at the areas where I forced lightning to strike the inner castle walls in several areas. My dad is likely going to be very unhappy with me. He was a historian of sorts, wanting always to protect the integrity of artifacts, and believe me, he treated the castle as one large one.
My brothers locked their eyes on Dominicus as their growl's ripped through the stillness of the early morning. "I see. The Witch Queen was right in saying you would allow him to live once you realized his real intentions, sister," said Euclid.
So the blood I sent the Witch Queen has absolved him of some wrongdoing, but I have a feeling there is going to be more to this. The Witch Queen could be merciful at times, but she always used the leverage she had on you to her benefit.
"The Witch Queen, mother, and father are awaiting your and Dominicus's arrival in the Witch realm. We have our orders and will take over things from here, little one," Archimedes told me.
"We will try to do what we can to restore the castle grounds before father returns," Euclid said as a matter of factly with a massive grin on his face.
I rolled my eyes at both of them. There was no way I would be indebted to these two.
"There is no reason for that brother's," I said as Pixie and I hyperfocused on the royal pack grounds, inner walls, and the castle. I never said incantations aloud. Within our mind, we said, "I call upon the elements to reconstruct what was once whole and majestic!" Amplifying the incantation through our minds, I brought my arms out and back together, clapping my hands. The clap echoed across the grounds, and within seconds all the damage was reconstructed and looked as it had when it had first been constructed centuries ago.
"Well, I know he is going to be upset that all the authentic historic flavor or wear and tear from centuries of exposure were not going to be as evident. Nevertheless, he will hopefully not be too upset with me," I told my brother, who was shocked at how effortlessly it was for me to reconstruct the castle walls and grounds.
My training had been intense as a Beta witch. There were many things I could do that took more than one witch or wizard to accomplish. I gave them a quick update on what had been done thus far—the devastating news about Pax and Jeremy and the betrayal of Devin and Max.
A loud moan from Dominicus brought me back to the task at hand. "I will see you all later," I told my brothers as I gently placed my hand on Dominicus's shoulder and teleported us to the medical unit within the Witch Queens palace. Upon our appearance within the medical wing, Maze approached us. He was the head doctor and the high wizards second in command. The cures used by Dominicus and his sister were such a strain on the body that treatment of its after-effects took significantly experienced witch or wizard.
"Hello, Hypatia. I will take Dominicus from here. Your parents are waiting for you in room one. They are with the Alpha King and Luna Queen," he told me as he and his assistants lifted him onto a stretcher.
"Thank you, Maze. I will see you later, Dom," I said them before making my way to room one. Opening the door, I was meet by two strong arms and the scent of strawberries and cream. My mother was fierce ut there was never any question that she loved all her children.
"Hypatia. My dear, are you okay? Your father and I were so worried when Marco told us what was unfolding. We were on our way to you all when the Witch Queen reached out to me and let us know that your brother would need a transfusion of your father's blood, and you were handling the situation. I looked over my mother's shoulder to see the Alpha King and Luna Queen in their respective hospital beds; however, they were still pushed together. Mates needed to be close to one another during the healing process. Both the Alpha King and Luna Queen's injuries were very traumatic to their human sides, and they being near one another would increase their rate of healing significantly.
As my mother moved aside, my father towered before me and embraced me. "Pax and Jeremy…" I began as I felt tears leave my eyes. "It's okay, sweetheart. Even though we wield great power, we cannot always save everyone. The Moon Goddess knows when it is our time. They were my brothers who sacrificed so much for our realm. It had not been for them, you, and the Royal pack, the Alpha, and his conspirators would have taken down our King and Luna with that jealous little girl's magical concoction.
I let out a growl. My father's eyes widened at my response. "So it is true? You have gotten your wolf, my child," my mother asked me?
"Her name is Pixie. She is the one that alerted me to the oncoming danger. Mother, how is it possible? He witches council…." I began to say when m mother began to shake her head. "It was never for certain that you would not get a wolf, and from what we have been told, you being a Lycan," she told me.
"You all should feel the power that radiates off of her in wolf form, and her wolf is an amazing sight to be seen," said a raspy voice from behind my parents.
Stepping around my parents, I took a knee, bowing before my brother and his Queen. "My King and Queen, I failed to protect you; I have no right to ask for your forgiveness… but please forgive me," I asked them with tears in my eyes. Many of the missions I had been on to this point had not directly impacted others within my family. I fought alongside my mother, but that was different. She was more experienced than I, and I never once feared we would not make it out of whatever disaster we found ourselves in. I had many mixed emotions. The feelings and emotions crushing me were precisely those described by my mother and the Witch Queen. They had told me that the chaos I was destined to face would pull in all those I most dearly loved in peril at one point or another, and sadly, loss of life would be an unavoidable component.
"Hypatia, Princess of the Royal Pack, there is nothing for which you should be ashamed. If it were not for you, my Queen and I would not have made it. Even as an Alpha, it is difficult for me to admit that little sister…" he said as Ellina cut him off.
"What your brother is trying is to say is that we owe you our lives, Hypatia, if you had not used your magic to put those protective barriers around us. We would not have succumbed to that b***h's treachery," Ellina said with hurt and anger-filled eyes. Anora had at one time been one of her best friends when they were growing up. Ellina was a witch of the court. However, she had earned that position. She was not Royal by birth. Anora had acted as if she were happy when Ellina discovered that she was mated to the Alpha King. However, her actions have demonstrated otherwise.
Ellina was angrier than I had ever seen her. Things were going to get interesting…
